A local mountain park great for snowboarders Nd skiers. There is no onsite accommodations so you have to stay in Spokane area and drive to this mountain. There are two lodges we always go to lodge two. Lodge two is where the lift tickets can be purchased and skis and snowboards can be rented. The people who work here are great. They try to help you to get your tickets and rental quickly so you can enjoy your time on the slopes. During long holidays, it could get crowded very fast. The parking can get full. They have free shuttle ring to bring people to the lodge area. The chairs are well operated; easy to get in and get off. The classes for young kids are a great value. If you are local they have great ski packages and season pass. The teachers are great; all our three kids learned how to ski and snowboard here under the caring instruction of teachers. Richard is one of their favorite teacher. He takes his time, gentle, knowledgeable and build kids confidence while teaching them the skills. The lodge has two sections; one section is where you can order beer and the other section has knly non alcoholic drinks. They have variety of fast food selection; you can also bring your own food and eat on the tables. The lodge can use some face lift and upgrade. The rental area is downstairs and they have good quality ski rentals. The process could be simpler and more automated by using technology The slopes are well maintained in different difficulty levels. The chairs run slower compared to other resorts but they are efficient. The snow is powdered and trimmed well. read more

I went snowboarding here for my first time today here, it was an all around great time I shredded some hills had fun with my brothers I ended up smacking my ducking knee hard as shit on the solid snow and went to the Med baby and met this cute ass girl from North Dakota she was a ski patrol girl idk like holayy shit she was smart and funny and just a good caring ass person who helped tf out of me sucks Booty that I didn't get a chance to ask for her number would love to talk to her some more without me being in crucial pain. read more

I would've given 4 stars if it weren't for the female bartender who refused to serve my daughter on her 21st birthday, stating something about a "24 hr rule". Not only should my daughter have been served, but the 1st drink should've been on the house! Has anyone else heard of this ridiculous "rule"?? I am looking to buy a season pass for next year but unfortunately, it won't be here. The resort is closed Mondays & Tuesdays (my days off) and is in desperate need of a high speed quad lift chair, which would probably be affordable if the resort lowered their season passes and were open 7 days a week. More people could afford to go, thereby increasing revenue in the lodge as well. Until that happens, I will continue to believe that skiing/snowboarding is just for rich people. read more

Great mountain- tough to beat if your in Spokane. Very close and doesn't get over crowded!

The chairs need upgrading with the amount of people at the mountain. The menu has been slimmed down.

My grandson had a fabulous first experience on his snowboard a couple of weeks ago. Congratulations to the ski school at Mt. Spokane for making a 10 year olds first experiences on the snow great ones! read more

* Parking - kind of a pain in the ass. The timing of the shuttle service was a crap shoot. * Renting - very cool people. Quick, no BS, in and out. * Ski lift operators - very nice. Didn't make me feel like a total idiot when I missed the chairs a couple times. * Bunny slop - EVIL. Pure evil. I am not a skier and I avalanched twice in one run. It was horrible. I laughed because at that point there isn't much to do. If you are as uncoordinated and as "California" as me, I recommend lessons. * Lounge - Heaven. Pure heaven. Warm, toasty, and great service. It was a beautiful day up there, hopefully I'll be able to update and talk about how cool all the other slopes are, in the mean time - I'm a big fan of the lounge. read more

Had I written this before two weeks ago, Mt. Spokane would have received a pretty scathing review from me because I had seen nothing but rain here before then. However, Mt. Spokie redeemed itself in my book with a absolutely bluebird weekend! This place has a quirky small area vibe, with all slow double chairlifts, but it has a certain kind of charm to it. The area is pretty small (especially compared to nearby Schweitzer) but I can imagine the tree skiing to be pretty fun on a powder day. We had a Giant Slalom race here a couple weeks ago and the hill on which it was held was awesome! Great views of the surrounding area and an awesome consistently steep pitch followed by a nice knoll at the bottom just to make things interesting. Mt. Spokane strikes me as the more family-oriented ski area of the region, catering to locals from Spokane and the surrounding area more than tourists. Probably not somewhere I would choose to go for a ski vacation, but it was a blast both times I raced here and its close proximity to Spokane makes it an ideal place for kids to learn to ski. Be forewarned, the lift lines can get pretty long on a weekend but if you go out at lunchtime you'll have the whole area to yourself! read more

Mt Spokane is like if you were a wizard with incredible transformational wizard powers but you couldn't change anything completely away from it's essential essence, for example you couldn't turn a frog into a white pony but you could turn a frog into a big gator, then you could turn a trailer park into a ski resort and call it "Mt Spokane" and everyone, especially the snowboarders who mostly live in trailerparks and slums would be like "oh man, the wizard knew what he was doing this time, not like that other time with the mice and the nuclear warheads" and there ya go. Friendly, cheap, easy, close to Spokane, decent but not spectacular runs, ok vertical, not much skiable acreage but generally kind of fun. I learned to ski there in 68 or 69 and have made a million or two runs up there. Night skiing, weekends, fog, fog, sun, fog. Used to work the mogul fields on two face and geronimo until my knees and quads screamed with a delicious agony, then I'd go up and do it again. Sure, the chimps ruined the mogul fields with their idiotic dumb depressors and every time I am startled in the lift line, while just chillaxin' and digging on my iPod Brian Jones Massacre spacerock neo-psychedlica groove vibe and one of those snow chimps SLAPS their stupid board as hard and as loud as they can on the hardpack, I just want to scream and then slug them in their stupid gum chewing mouths. Jerks. True story: Jan 1, 1973 me and my bro and his bud skiied down the cattrack to Chair 4 off NW passage and skied untracked pow all the way to the base of Chair 4. Funny thing was, it was a year before they opened chair 4 and we were like lost, not knowing where we were and how to get out. we hiked for an hour out some access/log road to Blanchard and decided as the sun went down we'd better go back to the shack and wait for help. As an aside, I had cheap ass Henke ski boots i got at the swap that didn't fit right and ended up so blistered, I had the scars on my feet for years and years. We eventually got rescued in the dark by some pissed off ski patrol and Mt Spokane workers driving snowcats down Lamonga Pass. Gosh, we were so naughty! Except Mt Spokane and their sub-awesome ski patrol never bothered to, you know, ROPE OR WARNING SIGN OFF THE CATTRACK to chair 4 or anything. Y'know! Lodges are blah but serviceable. The bar used to be cool and could be again if they start serving snow plow (or snow cap can't remember) ale on tap again. YUM. Although I gotta say my limit is two (2) and if I violate that I am gonna be skiing in a drunken slow witted trance stance and likely to hit a chairlift tower. By the way, honest to effing God truth, I saw a skier hit a tower on chair four back in the late 70s I think, he hit it at speed, firing down the fall line, to this day I have no idea why, he was a good skier, but he hit that thing chest on and crumpled and the ski patrol raced down to him, he was unconscious. Couple days later I read he died. Bad scene. Now they pad the damn things. What else? Hmmm. Here's a secret the locals up there don't want you and I to know - every winter a bunch of em build a stoner fort back in the woods just off the end of Chair 2 - they drag plywood and shit in there and build a fort where they can get lit and make out and drink and stuff. Every summer the park rangers find it and dismantle it. You are not supposed to know about this! Don't tell anyone, k, man? Cool. Go to Mt Spokane. It's cool. I give this mountain 4 stars, but I am a novice. This mountain is close and cheap. They have night and day skiing. I went night skiing with my friend. I feel like I may have been night skiing once in CO when I was a kid, but it's not a memory I can compare. I was really impressed with the night skiing. I didn't really know what to expect. I'm from the desert. We are lucky to have skiing, let alone Night skiing! So when I arrived with my advanced friend, I was really nervous! I hadn't been in skiis in about 10 years. My friend was so help. I clicked on my skis, scooted two feet, and she said, "Ok! Ready? Let's go!" Well, to my happy/grateful suprise, the chairs were very easy to use. They didn't move too fast, but they moved quick enough to keep the line moving. The nice lift guy, seeing the apparent terror on my face, gently talked me through where to stand and reminded me to bend my knees. The dismount was equally comforting. 1, I didn't fall. 2, there weren't a crap load of boarders sitting right at the exit area for me to crash into. Huh, a mountain where people know what they're doing... So to my friend's dismay, and many other patrons, only one part of the mountain was open due to fog. I didn't care. I did a few round on the bunny hill. What a perfect bunny hill! Steep enough to get you moving, yet wide and kind enough to give you space to remember how to turn. After a few runs down the bunny hill, my friend and I tackled the main hill. In my opinion, it was a little hard to figure out the trails. But I also think that had to do with the fog. My friend led us around just fine. We had open hill to have fun on, then a spot of trail, then more hill finally dumping into the bunny hill. Ok, I like this. So I am getting my snow legs back. Unfortunately, my friend was starting to get bored. I guess it's not fun to ski with a novice when you usually do diamonds... So for our last few runs we broke the buddy system (this terrified me, but I was fine) and went our separate ways. This is when I figured it was a bit difficult to figure out where to go if you are a novice. There was a lacking of signs in my opinion. But, there was also fog. I stuck to the string of lights and then finally found my way to the trail. I didn't crash, but I was challenged to use my turns. All in all, I felt like it was a great 1st time back out on the mountain. Also, my friend had more fun when she got to go on her own as well! I give the mountain 4 stars because it was really fun for me, very close, and very cheap. I can't give it 5 stars because I've only been once and I don't know how the rest of the mountain is. read more

My brother and I went night skiing in early January. I was surprised to see how affordable the tickets were- it made me wish I lived nearby so I could go night skiing often. The trails were nice and well lit. There were a lot of people out too. The lodge was fun to people watch, grab a beer, and warm up in between runs. read more

The thing I most love about Mt Spokane is the people who work there. Sure everyone is up there for the snow and terrain, and coming from Colorado (my home state) its kind of hard to compare. I mean...Colorado!!! However I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the small town atmosphere and the simplicity of Mt Spokane. You can learn the layout of the Mt pretty quickly (always an important thing to me as I dislike feeling "lost" on runs), the people running the lifts are alway friendly, the ski/board school is top notch and the staff really try their darnest to help you have a good time. If you need your stuff repaired the rental staff is really helpful. I really recommend going to Mt Spoke!!! read more

Love to go night skiing here. Great views. Lengthy drive up the mountain to get to the lodge but that just adds contributes to the buildup. I never rented a cabin here for a weekend or week, but I would have liked to. read more

Easy to get to after work, way above-average night skiing, and reasonably fast lifts. Mt. Spokane is a great mountain for it's proximity to Spokane. I buy the weekday pass and go up after work - if nothing else you get to ski, forget about the day, and get your legs in better shape for the weekend at *insert favorite ski mountain*. read more

It's not the biggest or best but it ain't bad either. We love coming for here for the convenience and proximity to town. Also, it lacks the pretension that you see on other bigger resort mountains. Love our summer hikes up here as well! read more
