As for the food, I got chicken sliders and they were not good. They tasted like mini mcchickens, so if you like that, you would love the sliders. It was tasty but not what I requested and significantly less in volume, and the color was white and overly icy, unlike the vibrant green or blue versions I've always had from the bar. I respectfully raised the issue to two managers. Instead of being heard, I was met with dismissive looks and the unspoken assumption that I didn't know what I was talking about. That's the part that stung the most. What they didn't know is: I own a mobile bartending service, I'm a publicist, and I represent two franchise restaurants in Memphis. I've been in this business a while. I know a good pour and inconsistency. Despite showing them photo receipts of previous drinks from past visits, I received no offer to remake the drink, no discount, not even a gesture of goodwill--just a, "Well, I'm sorry." That's not how you treat a loyal customer. That's not southern hospitality. Huey's, I hope this reaches you. I've loved your restaurant, your vibe, and the little reset I get when I visit. But today, I left feeling unseen, unheard, and frankly--disrespected. It felt like my intelligence was being insulted, and my loyalty overlooked. Do better. The hostess was friendly, and someone took our drink order almost immediately. The sweet tea was excellent -- not overly sweet with a strong, refreshing flavor. We started with the potato skins, which were very good and something I'd definitely order again. For my entrée, I had the A1 Burger with steak fries. The fries had a slight crisp on the outside but were a bit bland and needed some salt (luckily it's on the table). The burger, however, was outstanding. The patty was thick, cooked medium, well-seasoned, and juicy. The blend of three cheeses paired perfectly with the A1 sauce and mushrooms. Huey's is a staple in Memphis. There seems to be one everywhere. The service was fast and friendly. The interior is bordering on a dive but it's a comfortable feel. Nothing about our orders were great. In fact, the several times I've gone to Huey's (different locations), I've not been impressed. I can say, unequivocally, that you go to Huey's for reliably mediocre, decently priced food. I ordered the Smokey Melt with a turkey patty and Onion Straws. The onions straws could've been left a little while longer in the fryer but it was the best thing on my plate. The melt wasn't smokey, but you are given a smokey creamy sauce on the side. The melt itself was not a melt - the cheese wasn't even melted. It was more of a burger that was served on sliced bread. My husband ordered the Grilled Chicken Salad and said the chicken was rubbery. Awesome hostesses! Hannah was super sweet. We come here usually 2-4 times a month. We always get fast service with a waitress or waiter coming within 3 mins to say hi and get us our drinks. This time, we had to get a hostess to get us our drinks and we waited 10 min for a waiter to come. Mind you this waiter had passed us many times before coming to speak to us. Before going to the movies my friends and I decided to go to this Huey's location for lunch. It was a little crowded, but we were able to find a table to sit at. For appetizer we all share some cheese fries which was a good way to kick off lunch. For my main course I decided to get the Bluff City Burger with Onion Rings. All right - here we go.....drove to Memphis to pick up a car in Bartlett and along the way saw a review and suggestion for the best burgers in all of Memphis @ Huey's....lucky for us it was literally 1.2 miles only to get there as we were only coming down to pick up the car and drive back....so this was perfect. Ambiance reminded me like an Irish pub without all the Celtic references and Guinness signs...but the bar and tables were pretty normal for a restaurant. Service was excellent - once we sat down at the windows - Jennifer came along and introduced herself and asked why we were in town and if we wanted any appetizers....we declined however we did order the cheese fries along with our bluff city burgers. Food - tasty and done to our likeness. I won't say it was an epic meal but it was good and the cheese fried with bacon and scallions alongside some blue cheese dip were off the charts yummy albeit not the best for the body. Overall - stellar - why? The price.....the burgers were only 9,95 and together 2 burgers a huge plate of cheese fries - 1 soda and 1 beer only ran us $40 - that's a win!!! Huey's is one of the Memphis establishments I've missed the most since moving away, so I'm always well overdue for a World Famous Huey Burger when I come home to visit. For this burger from the Cordova location, the beef was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The cheddar cheese didn't steal the show but definitely wasn't lost among the other toppings. The hefty tomato slice was fresh and juicy. The iceberg lettuce added a nice crunch to each bite. The tangy red onions and pickle slices complemented the yellow mustard seamlessly. The buttered and toasted bun did a fairly good job of holding everything together (the generous spreads of mayo and mustard made the sandwich a little slippery). I ordered a side of onion rings, which are massive -- easily the largest I've ever eaten. I'm addicted to them and could easily eat an entire bucket. They are so greasy, crunchy and seasoned just right. It's not a trip home without Huey's, and I'm so glad that the high quality and great taste seems to be consistent across all of their locations. read more

It has been nearly 10 years since I've come to this Memphis classic. Much too long. The A1 burger and cheese tots with bacon and scallions were phenomenal. A good-sized burger with A1 sauce and crispy onion straws, cooked to the actual requested temperature of medium. And a big serving of cheesy cheese tots with bacon bits and ranch or ketchup that practically defines comfort food. I was surprised at the bang for the buck here. The entrees don't come with sides or a drink, but they still have a great value - the A1 burger was $8.75, and the cheese tots were $8.95. The A1 burger could have used a little bit more A1, as it was a tad dry in my opinion. Also, note that there is automatically a service charge included for curbside pickup. I don't give out many 5 stars but today Huey's earned it. The service was good and when asked to turn the Texan game in they did promptly. Food was served fast and the waiter was attentive to our needs before we had to ask. The queso dip was good and big enough for our table of 4 with some left over after 2 baskets of chips. The burgers were fresh and flavorful, the fries were good dipped in their ranch dressing. The ranch was a little runny but good flavor. Onion rings were awesome as well.
