I would strongly caution anyone considering this home inspection company. During a home purchase, the inspector failed to identify significant foundation issues that should have been discovered during the inspection process. As a result, the buyer was forced to obtain a second inspection, which uncovered approximately $20,000 in foundation damage and repairs. Due to the inspector's negligence, Huggs Inspection Company agreed to a settlement. However, after making only a few payments, the company stopped honoring the agreement. Mr. Huggs then stated, "Good luck collecting." Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. A home inspector's job is to identify major issues that could impact a buyer's decision, and in this case a costly foundation problem was missed. read more

They skipped hot water heater during home inspection. The water heater leaked causing water damage to my condo as well as condo below. Mr Huggs refused to pay for damages. I took him to small claims court. He lost. Judge ruled Mr Huggs was at fault. Mr Huggs refused to pay after promising many times he would send a "check". I was forced to put MrHuggs in collection. He is still ducking the collection people. This incident was almost 4 years ago. Do not use this business. This business owner is not honest or ethical. read more

Amazingly detailed inspection covering 105 pages with photos of each deficient area. So detailed I was able to email each section to various contractors and get estimates based on the inspection and have work done right away to correct the deficiencies. Since this is going to be a rental property it was very helpful to get work done as quickly as possible. It indicated very simple and digestible language which is super convenient considering how much work is actually documented! Any issues the house had, James took clear photos and put on the report. The drone he used to inspect the roof also took good clean photos! In addition, James had a cool rover that went under the house to inspect as well. Edited Review- it's been about 6 weeks since our inspection, and we are now living in the home we bought after James inspected it. Unfortunately, we moved in and the garbage disposal needed to be replaced on our first day, we had an unsafe gas line (A PLASTIC GAS PIPE), a washer dryer outlet in the laundry room that is not the proper type to work with large appliances.. several issues that should have been caught in an inspection. I'm still glad we bought the house which was just built in 2012, but there have been some real safety issues. The gas company actually had to shut off our gas to our whole house and deemed it unsafe to have the gas turned on because of this plastic pipe. --- We can't say enough about James- he was extremely thorough both in his inspection and in his explanations of every detail of the house. He even had a drone that he brought out to check the roof without having to go up there! He was punctual, passionate about the job he was doing, and able to schedule us in last minute.
