This was such a good deal compared to regular pricing. Regular pricing is so hight, even if you buy it from the A's themselves. We couldn't afford to go to many games if we play regular price. This was our 2nd game this year. We went to one of the first ones for the season and it was very cold and we totally bundled up to watch the game. I wore my fluffy jacket and had my hood pulled up. That was a really fun game. I belive that won that game. We also got a picture with Stomper. It's a fun picture as we're all bundled up. If you know me you I know I love selfie shots. They had one this tiem. Soon as you walk in after you checked in, got your sway in the middle of the busy through fair staff were right there assisting you in capturing the moment. They had a picture frame specific for this specific game. The gals working the picture frame gave us the frame and offered to take our picture. It was perfect. We look so cute together showing off our A's T-Shirts. Happy Hour was a flop. Soon as we took our pic we hurried over to the beer garden and got in line. They cut off the happy hour pricing 4 people in-front of us. We wasted all that time in line when we could have gotten our seats and had the over priced beer brought to us in a cold can. We've learned our lesson. Getting inline early doesn't ensure you will make the happy hour pricing. You really need to get here when the gates open to ensure you get the deal. Sadly we only got here 30 minutes before the game. We thought we were early enough, but apparently not. They lost big time. The nationals got 34 and we only got 4. We lost by a landslide. It was a really disappointing game. People were leaving in droves as time when on. No Fireworks?! When they have the RiverCats games they have them every Friday and Saturday or least that's what we though. Thus we assumed they would have fireworks. Last night. Boy were we disappointed as we stayed till the end of the game just to see the fireworks. Next time we'll ask as staff member so we are prepared. Chilly- It was 90 when we arrived and got to 50/60 when we left. I'm glad we wore long pants and brought a sweater. I wasn't as cold as I could have been if I were unprepared, but I wished I had brought my hoodie to be a bit warmer. Bathrooms- Unlike when we went to the SF Giants last month there were plenty of stalls here and there wasn't a wait. I am thankful for their bathroom set up. It's a breeze going in and out. Food- I went to the official park's vendor, not an outsourced vendor. My husband sent me for a hotdog. They only had once size at this location. A Stomper dog was $14. We saw later that other people got a smaller size, he would have been happy with the smaller dog. The good news that this dog was big enough to share. Though he drowned it in mustard, relish, and catchup. They didn't offer onions so he didn't smother the dogs with that. This wasn't my choice of toppings, but I was hungry a little so I gad some. The beer/happy hours experience was a disappointment, them losing the game was a disappointment, it was chilly out, the hotdog was overpriced. Without that said we're glad we got out. We'll be back next week for. RiverCats game. Hopefully that one will be better.

The Sacramento Kings hosted another movie night for Season Ticket Members at the Golden 1 Center…read more The movie, Cars, was so cute. We were treated to popcorn, sweet treat bags, mini corn dogs and cold bottled drinks. The popcorn containers were made special for movie night, and a keeper, made of hard plastic. There was three chances to win prizes as well, and a photo op balloon display. Everything looked festive with the Cars theme, and the staff were great. Our season ticket specialists and reps made sure the event was fun for us, and a perfect movie night. Parking validations were provided in the DOCO lot nearby, and covered the entire $18 charge. Movie night is another benefit provided to Season Ticket Members.

It feels like a Band-Aid...probably because it is and has been for over a decade. The brand new venue, whenever it shows up https://www.republicstadium.com will hopefully be a good one. Sure, if you can't survive a couple hours without alcohol, you can splurge and sink some earnings in to a beverage and even scarf down some food for a premium. Passed on all that this time. This felt permanently temporary and with good reason- it is. It was exciting to stomp on the metal bleachers when that happened. It also felt like a high school rally where the kiddos would stomp and pout and make as much noise as they could. Found myself applauding because that seemed appropriate at the time but could not understand what seemed like trying to play an instrument with your feet on the metal bleacher. Parking seemed convenient enough. $15 for the evening with a back exit to split when the time came. It will cost more at the new place because this is left over space from a pretty much fallen California Exposition Center. They'll have to pave new lots. Yay. Bathrooms were porta-potties. Most of them were anyways. Yet another permanently temporary band-aid. Let's hope they don't take them out to the new stadium. Food venues looked like leftovers from the fair. Not about that. The "premium" spots gated and guarded by folks who want more money to sit down will hopefully get some real upgrades as opposed to the fancy net protecting them at this place. Had some dudes sing the National Anthem (ooh, anthem time baby!) and a brief half time display. Thanks Rachel, for the scarf. It seemed warm and the stadium was half in the sun upon arrival so shorts and a t-shirt were too much. Sun went down and it got a little chilly so the scarf-ish thing was welcome. "Bonney Field is not meant to be a permanent structure." This is the same place but with new name tags. The quote is from over 11 years ago. Out with the old, in with the new. Not entirely disappointed in going to this old setup (will most likely be the first and last time going here) and not bothered in the least that it's going away.

Surrounding stadium area: Located at Heart Health Park in Cal Expo, the Sac Republic facility is a really nice spot. Outside of the field was almost a dozen food (pizza, Greek, Tacos, German, frozen treats, etc.) & drink trucks (beers, Margaritas, Agua Frescas, etc.) options. Stadium area: VIP seating to the South, Home field side to the West, Away side to the East, and the tall bleachers to the North. SRFC also has a really nice field. Three music venues turned into one-man bands leaving only two stages with music. The ONLY two things that I enjoyed were the farm and the Low rider exhibit. So sad to see. I will not be going back!

A River Cats game is always a fun time, win or lose because of the food, promos and vibes…read more I've been to games since they first became a team and love Sutter Health Ballpark's classic look and pretty views over the outfield. They've had a lot of great promos this season, and I love that they have new, creative food options every season like the burger combo that's served in a Tower Bridge box (I still need to try this!). It's fun to see up-and-coming ballplayers grow their talent and occasionally a Giant will rehab with the team (the River Cats are the Triple-A team of the San Francisco Giants), which is always fun to see. Parking is only $15 and it's easy to get a spot in the lot close to the ballpark if you arrive early. Pro tip: look up their bag policy before you go to make your trip as smooth as possible! I think small purses and clear bags are okay off the top of my head. I always bring my tiny black purse with no issues. There are different promo days depending on the day of the week that offer discounts on ice cream, hot dogs, and drinks. My friend and I caught happy hour last month and appreciated the $3 discount on our beers and waters before first pitch. I'm looking forward to my next game. Thanks!

Another great night at the Sacramento River Cats Legacy club for tonight's game…read more Not much of a crowd in the stands tonight for a great night of baseball, but there was quite a bit in the legacy club enjoying tonight's menu. Besides the salad bar, the menu included barbecue chicken, smoked tri-tip, scallop potatoes, baked beans, broccolini,and rolls. Those shorthanded, Garry and Kevin did an outstanding job with the buffet. I love that they always keep it refilled and the counters and tables clean. It doesn't matter how busy it gets. They are always on their jobs and are so appreciated. The Rivercats had a special treat for us in the legacy. We were able to go down for Merlino's, and it was so good. Tonight we also picked up our Member gifts, which was a pennant, a pin, and a baseball. Another great thing is that the Rivercats won the game!

So the first person to review the Hornets Nest gets to be someone who never attended Sac State! The…read moreHornets Nest is the home of the Sac State Basketball team and likely others. It is located on the northern part of the campus closer to J Street. Parking is pretty easy with a very large parking garage near the facility which includes abundant EV charging. The Nest is actually on the smaller side. They recently repainted the interior which makes it a little darker and feeling a little smaller than before. Seating is basic with bleachers and retractable chairs along the side court section. The nice part of this is that all seats are really close to the action. As you enter the Nest, there is a small concession stand selling nonalcoholic drinks and snacks. Tickets are sold online, but they also sell tickets at the game. Restrooms are small and old, but the crowds are usually small so it's not an issue on the mens side. Staff are great and helpful, even for the opposing team's fans. If you are like me and root for the other team, sit behind the visitors bench for the "Away" section. Come here for a great basketball game. The games are less than two hours and action packed. Sure, you could pay more and see professionals downtown. However, the Hornets Nest is a great way to see the action up close and is cheap enough for the whole family to enjoy.
