The Sacramento Kings hosted another movie night for Season Ticket Members at the Golden 1 Center. The movie, Cars, was so cute. We were treated to popcorn, sweet treat bags, mini corn dogs and cold bottled drinks. The popcorn containers were made special for movie night, and a keeper, made of hard plastic. There was three chances to win prizes as well, and a photo op balloon display. Everything looked festive with the Cars theme, and the staff were great. Our season ticket specialists and reps made sure the event was fun for us, and a perfect movie night. Parking validations were provided in the DOCO lot nearby, and covered the entire $18 charge. I went to the kings game on 4-3-2026, for my father's birthday. And my family and I have been fans since the 2022-2023 season and this time was my first time and it did not disappoint. They also won! My favorite NBA team and so proud of how far they have come. We are currently #5 in the West and will be climbing our way up in hopes to make it far into the finals. If we continue to play good defense and use our players with changing up the lineup, and making our shots playing offensively and attacking the basket then we will make it far. We just need to stay consistent and keep on growing while staying humble then we have momentum for years to come. The Sacramento Kings franchise also has a wonderful culture in Sacramento with appreciation for their fan-base and also providing perks and fun prizes through the season. I hope coach brown, the coaching staff and players continue on a positive trajectory while having fun smiling and having effective teamwork bc we know there is no "I" in team! This was our first game ever. My husband was so excited to see them play in person. Everything was going great it was the start of the third quarter and we got up to let others sit back down. Then an older man who worked there named Frank came up to just us, nobody else in the entire area and said "do you have tickets?" Which we thought was weird because we showed them to the guy at the top of the row more than once when we first got there. And now this guy wanted to see them again. But he didn't ask anyone else. It just didn't make us feel welcome. Might not be going again. We were not doing anything that would make them think we shouldn't have been there. It was just rude. read more

Kings reminisce... then and now I have been enjoying home games since we moved to Roseville in 2001. I was never a basketball fan in the Bay Area but when we moved to Placer County I became one. It all started when my first job in Roseville provided free tickets to a game... I can't remember who we played back then but we sat just a few rows behind court side at the ARCO Arena. It was exciting to watch the set of Kings players back then -- C-Webb, Divac, Bibby, Peja, Doug Christie, and B-Jax. I think they had just traded J-Will for Mike Bibby then so I never got to watch "White Chocolate"play for the Kings. I remember it was raining hard that evening, I was on my 2nd trimester of pregnancy with my youngest and I went to my very first Kings game. The second time I attended a Kings game was when we were invited to box seats. By this time I've already had my youngest child, bundled her up in purple, took her to the game at 5-months old and we enjoyed the Suite life for an evening. The rivalry back then were with Lakers. BEAT L.A.! LoL While the former owners, the Maloofs, were ready to let go of the Kings to Seattle, Sacramento is thankful that new owner, Vivek Ranadivé, saved the Kings from leaving. Whew! Finally, it was over. Ranadive and his group of investors successfully purchased the Kings from the Maloofs on May 29, 2013. I'm not a season ticket holder, no, I can't afford it LoL!but we do attend games when we find a good deal w/ friends or when we get invited once a year to our friend's box suite. The last time the Kings were in the playoffs was in May 2006... geez, rookie Keegan (M-U-R-R-A-Y!!!) was only 5 years old and Apple hadn't even released the iPhone yet so my photos back then were not digital and taken from a Canon Sure Shot camera (LoL! remember those?). On 3/29/23 the Kings clinched the playoffs. If the playoffs were held today Kings will end up playing the Warriors... and all four California teams in the Pacific Division are currently in the top 8. My third time is Sacramento, but first time at a Kings game. I honestly had a blast here! We paid for nosebleed seats, but most of the time we just walked around and hung out at the bars/viewing areas in the arena. Even though we were up in the rafters, the view was still pretty good. We ended up spending a majority of our time in the beer garden area, with a great view of the basketball action. I don't recall what this place was named, but I believe it's named after a local Sac brewery. Even if you're not a fan of basketball just get the cheap seats and just hang with friends! Plus the surrounding downtown area is pretty sweet, shout out to the Chambers Room! Btw, the Kings won! read more

Security nightmare. I carry a clutch that holds my phone, tissue, credit card and keys. I have a plastic flash light, to light my car and home key hole, which is also attached to the clutch. It is 1.5" by .5". It's not a laser, it's has a low level light, barely enough to light the key holes. This raised the ire of security and they confiscated it. After filing a complaint, thankfully it was returned. This was after they removed my tissue from my clutch to search it. I carried the clutch tonight because the last Kings game I had the keys, tissue, and phone in my pocket. The security guy then made a crack that I had to many things in my pocket. You can't do anything to please King's security. Keep staying away from the arena, or suffer the consequences. Funny they allow phones that have a flashlight, and a camera which they also don't allow. Hummm the rules make no sense. Stay safe everyone! read more

I've been attending Kings games since 1985 as a co-season ticket holder and a sole season ticket holder since 1990. been through the good times of the 2000's to the recent bad times. While the current owner Vivek saved the team, his honeymoon period is OVER! Vivek and his immediate team (Divac, Lamb, and his daughter) are inept and will forever doom the team. The hope from 2023 has been destroyed. 2023 MVP Coach and GM have been fired. There's little if any hope. I am seriously considering giving up my season tickets next year. Go Kings! My husband and I went to a game here on 4/2/23. We sat in section 1 row 2 seats 1&2. My husband is a huge kings fan and when given these court-side tickets we got a baby sitter and went on a date! The perks of these seats is an onsite parking garage with direct access to the arena. It's fully enclosed, safe and monitored by security. A lot of high end cars cause the players park there! We had access to the Lexus lounge. Food, alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks included. There was also a candy bar. The bathrooms in the Lexus lounge had fully enclosed stalls for ultimate comfort. Haha! Dessert was offered at half time. There's an area in the Lexus lounge that opens up to the hallway where the players make their way to the basketball court. It's an opportunity to get autographs and photos. I'm not a huge fan of basketball but given the opportunity to sit in the second row made it really exciting and memorable to be that close to the action. We also were able to order drinks from our seat and have them delivered. The kings lost but it was a fun game and experience. My husband always enjoys watching kings games and he's grateful we were able to go to a game during their season of success. Just for fun we looked up tickets for Fridays game against the warriors-- the seats behind us are 20k a piece. Omggg that's insane. The Sacramento Kings should have been the NBA champions in 2002, but poor officiating caused them to lose their Western Conference Finals best-of-seven series against the Lakers, 3-4. The officiating was so bad that American activist and former US Presidential candidate Ralph Nader sent a letter to then-NBA-Commissioner David Stern about it (https://www.leagueoffans.org/sternletter.html). In 2008, former NBA ref and convicted felon Tim Donaghy's attorney filed a court document that alleged Game 6 of the series was fixed by two refs. As NBA fans (I'm neither a Kings nor Lakers fan, but a Spurs and Hawks fan), my friends and I, who watched several of the Kings-Lakers games together live, were livid at the officials and how biased the calls were for the Lakers. In my mind, the true champions of the NBA in 2002 were the Kings. That team dominated in the regular season with a league-best 61-21 regular season record. From 1 through 5, the starters were Mike Bibby, Doug Christie, Peja Stojakovic, Chris Webber, and Vlade Divac with key bench contributions from Hedo Turkoglu and Bobby Jackson, and to a lesser extent, Scot Pollard. It was a fun and exciting team to watch with Bibby and C-Webb carrying the load on offense, Peja knocking down threes, Christie being known for his lock-down defense, Divac being the veteran glue at center, and Bobby Jackson providing that 6th man spark. Out of those players, my favorite was Mike Bibby because of how he ran the team and how clutch he was in the playoffs. I made an AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) screen name in his honor: mikebibbyCLUTCH. I actually got to meet Mike and played video games with him when he was in Atlanta. After Sacramento, he played for the Hawks from 2007 to 2011. The head coach of the 2002 team was Rick Adelman who was the franchise's best coach in modern times (at least since the team name was changed from Royals to Kings in 1972). In his eight seasons as coach (1998-2006), Adelman's Kings teams never missed the playoffs. They were a fixture in a stacked Western Conference. Since Adelman left in 2006, the Kings haven't been the same. The team is currently on its 10th different head coach (Luke Walton) since Adelman left. That's 10 different coaches in 14 seasons. Over the last 20 years, none of the Kings' draft picks have really panned out in the team's favor. There was Tyreke Evans (4th overall pick in 2009) and DeMarcus Cousins (5th overall pick in 2010), but that era came and went with no playoff appearance. Both went on to have decent NBA careers, but are no longer with the team. These days, it's De'Aaron Fox (5th overall pick in 2017) and Marvin Bagley III (2nd overall pick in 2018) that form part of the team's young and talented core. LA is the second-biggest market in the league and the Bay Area flirts with top 10 status. That leaves Sacramento as the odd team out, but they've proven they can contend. It is fun to watch Sacramento Kings most of the time. But everyone who followed Sacramento Kings should also have been a major disappointment every now and then! I loved the team. So I got upset when they're played very bad! I'm glad the Kings area was moved from Arco / Sleep Train Area in Natomas to Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento. A much better area with many more things to do before and after the games. The team was doing very well 15 years ago, but up and down in the last 15 years. Some games are so much fun and I am very enjoyed the entertainment, but some games I have to leave in the 3rd quarter of the games! Sacramento Kings is our team. Went to my 2nd Kings game of the season last night vs the Warriors. What an awful product that we paid for! No cohesion on the team, so many turn overs, allowing the other team to get offensive rebounds, defense like 7th graders, and very poor fundamentals. Offensively stagnant, down by 20 before halftime, waited for them to pull it together but by the end of the 3rd quarter it was clear they just don't. have the horses, system, or coaching to make a run. The Kings and their management don't respect the average ticket purchasers. We pay for the entertainment and the best entertainment was the half time dancers. The fun part was listening to the young asian people around us giving good commentary throughout the game on both the Kings and the Warriors - no filter and all truth. Every season Kings marketing and management hype the team up and make you want to get behind them so I get a few games and TBH they just aren't worth the price of admission, parking, food, etc. I enjoyed spending time with my family but honestly we could spend a lot less and watch on tv with a much less expensive hamburger and piece of pizza. I sure hope they get real business people in there to run the organization bc we as a city have given our heart and soul for the franchise and it just doesn't seem that they reciprocate for the people who pay the tickets and have subsidized the arena. Its an expensive outing to not get quality effort and positive results. read more

I've been a Kings fan since I moved up to this area to attend U.C. Davis back in 1999. Yes this was when the Kings were really good and now they haven't been playing well (but hopefully they'll get their game together soon). I've been to about 6 or 7 games this season so far and will go attending tonight when they play the Suns. I give thumbs up to the team, Slamson and the dancers. Slamson can really get the crowd going. I wish they had better half time shows like they did last year. Also, when the arena is empty they should move more people down to the lower level or charge even less since the team hasn't been doing too well. This year I was able to attend the Laker and Heat games... I think those were the only two games where the Arena was packed. If you want to attend a game, keep an eye our for groupons or package deals. There are some good deals out there... otherwise after tax and convenience charges tickets can be a little expensive. Thumbs down for the $10 parking fee and $5 sodas. Their garlic fries are good. =) read more

Okay, giving a rating of the Sacramento Kings is difficult. I am somewhat conflicted between giving a 3 or a 4 star. This season's team hasn't been doing well, but they are a spoiler team when they play against the GS Warriors, my local team. Hopefully, when I am through writing this review, I can come up with a rating. I remember the Kings leaving Kansas City and moving to Sacramento in 1985 to play in Arco Arena. Back then how I wanted to attend a Kings game to see my favorite ballplayer, Reggie Theus. It never happened. Even my visits to my best GF in Sac never resulted in us attending any of the games. Of course, she went and her favorite ballplayer was Doug Christie. Also, back in the mid-80's I was a LA Lakers fan because of Kareem, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Michael Cooper and their coach, Pat Riley, in his Armani suit. I stopped rooting for LA Lakers over 10 years ago, as the Kings were robbed of a chance to play in the NBA Championship series against the New Jersey Nets (now Brooklyn), and at that time there were some BS calls by the officials, especially a no foul call against LA on Vlade Divac. I haven't forgotten that playoff game. That's why I love to say "beat LA" and that applies to the Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers and Angels. Yes, I am from the Bay Area and a GS Warriors fan, but I do root for the teams in Northern California (A's, Giants, Raiders, a sometimey Niners, Kings - not LA as in ice hockey - the SJ Sharks and Cal Bears). Hmmm, perhaps I better pull out my Skybox basketball card collection to see who was playing for the Kings in the early 90's. I know Mitch Richmond was because he was traded for Billy Owens...thanks a lot Kings fan...Billy Owens was somewhat a disappointment. Then there was C-Webb playing with the Kings. The one player that I felt bad for was Bobby Hurley. Watching him played at Duke in the NCAA, the guy had potential of being an excellent guard. Oh, yeah, I can't forget "white" chocolate aka Jason Williams. It was three years ago this date that I finally attended a Kings game against the Dallas Mavericks. Another one of my GFs lived right across Arco Arena and treated me to a Kings game. The fans around me were nice and they did not rag on me for being a Warriors fan. I had a great time despite the Kings losing that night. (I wasn't rooting for Jason Kidd on the Dallas team, even though he attended St. Joe's in Alameda and then UC Berkeley before turning pro.) The half-time show was different. It was the Kings Skater Night and pro skateboarders were in the house performing their stunts. Shall I say "totally awesome, dudes"? Who did I watch that night and they were some great ballers - Tyreke Evans, Carl Landry and Spencer Hawes. I don't know who Spencer Hawes is playing for right now, but thank you for Carl Landry. He has been wonderful off the bench along with Jarrett Jack and Harrison Barnes for the Warriors. Finally, this is one sports fan from the Bay Area hoping that the Kings stay in Sacramento and a new arena is built closer to Downtown Sac (either near the shopping mall or the convention center). Send the Maloofs away and to the Kings team I dedicate this song from back in the days by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs - "Stay, ahh just a little bit longer, please, please, please..." I am still conflicted on the rating, but I am gonna go ahead and give it a four star for the team players, not the owners. read more

The Kings are the only game in town, and now with the new management, going to games has been so much more fun. Sure, the arena may be older... but the experience is still top notch. From the players to the emcee to the dancers to the arena staff... they all make the game worth going to. It will be really fun to see how much growth this team can make under the new regime. It is definitely an exciting time to be a Sacramento Kings fan. I really encourage everyone in the region to check out a Kings game. They definitely make a fun time out. I chose to get season tickets this year in support of the team, and more importantly, the community. It was quite an investment, but it has been totally worth it so far. Even before a pre-season game was even played, the Kings organization treated the season ticket holders like royalty. We had many events organized for us. Just to name a few, there was: wine and cheese tasting, Rivercats game and BBQ, Beer tasting, and information sessions at the arena. I was even able to take part in a basketball camp held on the arena court. It was amazing. Parking at the arena isn't too bad, the cost is $10. I am also a big San Jose Sharks fan, and parking at their venue is $20! So ten isn't the worst. Some people who don't mind a little walk can park for free just outside the arena if they so choose. Most of the food places in the arena aren't that great. The hot dogs, nachos, and chicken strips are pretty standard fare for a hefty price. I do bit the bullet and get a slice of pizza and fries. Pizza is so-so, but the fries are surprisingly good! If you want garlic fries, you'll have to find the special stand in the concourse area across from the main food vendor. It is neat to see that the Kings have some locally sourced food choices available. I got a pretty tasty chicken sandwich at one of the recent games I went to. A bit pricey, but I was glad it was available. It will take a while for the Kings to get good, but I think it's worth it to get on the train now and enjoy the ride. read more

I've been writing tips and posting pics but no reviews so it's only right that I do so. Where do I begin? I am a born and raised sac town girl so I've been watching the Kings since I can remember . I remember my uncle who was a season ticket holder in the 90s would bring me and my cousin to games. Back when they gave you coupons for western bacon cheeseburgers. None of that free taco from jack in the box nonsense. It was before all that! I even remember attending practices that were only open to season ticket holders. I still have a Chris webber jersey in my closet, in fact I even met the guy! He was so nice . I remember I ran into Bobby Jackson at Arden fair mall when I was a kid. I spotted him while he was going up the escalator and he saw ( me) a little Asian kid with a shocked face and smiled then waved hello. There's been a lot of changes since then but I'm glad Sacramento still has the Kings. I look forward to the new arena and perhaps winning a championship in the near future ! This review is for my experience following the team from the time they arrived. The Kings of late have started the process of upping their game yet again. Looks like they finally have the right ownership group in place. I'm so happy the Magoof family is gone. I've been a basketball fan dating back to the days before the Kings came to Sacramento. Yes I have split loyalty between the Warriors and the Kings. The low stars are for all the missed opportunities to make this a solid franchise over the course of time. The various ownership groups up to this point have allowed so many errors in judgment with player personnel, coaches and the front office. I won't dive into the nitty gritty but any fan of this team for more than say 10 years has lived the ineptitude that has been the Kings. The fans by and large are 5 star. The support this team gets from a comparatively small market is beyond reproach. I'm hopeful the new arena will be done right and be a good fit for downtown. Still many questions remain. But that's not really about the team. In fairness the new ownership is looking like a 5 star effort. In time we will see the results. I'm optimistic. I look forward to throwing on a couple more stars in the coming years. On a side note Kings fans are 5 star. read more

Grew up in the East Bay (Fremont) but moved to Elk Grove in '98, right around the time of Jason Williams, Vlade Divac, Chris Webber, and Peja Stojakovic and their first winning season after the team moved to Sacramento. Doug Christie and Hedo Turkoglu followed, and the 2000-2001 team got the series win, and Mike Bibby the following season. 2002 was the best. Bobby Jackson, Scot Pollard, Brad Miller...I could name them all! That shows I really cared. The Sacramento Kings were on top pretty much during my middle school and high school days. Having a hometown team do so well really got me excited about the game. The players were household names! I still have a Mike Bibby jersey, and remember even when the Sacramento Monarchs were great. Lifelong-lasting impressions at a young age. Though those were the best years, I've seen them get through the decline since then and comeback...almost, but so close to becoming a playoff team again. In college I moved to Natomas and the arena's practically been in my back yard. I've only seen a few home games at Arco (Power Balance, Sleep Train, whatever) though, usually against the Warriors (2008, 2015) or the Dallas Mavs (2015, 2016). Every game I attended, the Kings had won, except of course against the Warriors recently. It's always a fun live experience, especially on themed game days, and giveaways such as the free T-shirts, Jumbo Jacks or Jamba Juice coupons. Sometimes Groupon would have good deals on seats, free tickets from BloodSource or Welk Resorts too. I still belive in the Kings team, and am Sacramento Proud. Not sure how often I'll watch once they move to Golden 1 Center next season, but will always be a fan. Finally, the current Sacramento team seems to have a lot of potential to be great. I respect and acknowledge the amazing performance of our NorCal neighbor champs the Warriors team, but only root for them part-time. The Warriors are so good now that winning is expected, still exciting -- but I get more satisfaction and love that hopeful feeling whenever the Kings win and get a glimpse of how good they can be when they do play well and starters/rotations come together, defense, offense, and solid passing. It was hard to follow the comings/goings of the organization before it was decided they'd stay in town and get the new arena, but now I can name current Kings players again on more than one hand -- which goes back to showing that I still care -- and hey, we've got Seth Curry #30. That way you'll beat most of the traffic, get your food/drinks with minimal lines, catch the fun & excitement of the pre-game and player intros - and when it's time to leave, your proximity to the parking lot exit will save time sitting in your car, waiting in yet another line. We all know Sleep Train Arena is old and outdated. The old owners told us that endlessly, the commish has made the same point, and the new owners are on the fast track to getting outa there. Thing is, for me, it's just fine. The seat costs, though freakin' high at $100-600 below the boxes, are still lower than they'll ever be in a new arena. The food is decent, it's overpriced as expected, and the lower section waiter service works well. Views from the lux boxes and all seats are great (watch a game at Staples Center, it's really boring by comparison), and the entertainment. Hey! I will be sad to see the Kings go if that happens. I enjoy going to Kings games- it's a relatively cheap night of entertainment. We have sat everywhere from courtside to the upper nose bleed seats and I still manage to have fun, follow the game and am even becoming a bit of a basketball fan (baseball is my passion) I would give five stars if there were public transportation options- I don't ever, ever, ever drink and drive- being five feet tall doesn't leave you alot of leeway for the BAC so I don't feel comfortable even having one beer during the game. read more

Yes, yes, the Kings are a rebuilding team. But there are quite a number of positives when it comes to rooting for the perennial underdogs. They have working relationships with non-profit organizations, Francis House Center, giving out free tickets to staffers and volunteers when they're not able to sell-out games. I've attended quite a number of Kings games in-person at Sleep Train Arena over the years and my favorite game would be when the Kings played the Utah Jazz on November 24th, 2012. They started off fast, taking an 8-0 lead to begin the 1st quarter and they never let up, beating the Jazz by the score of 108-97. A close second favorite game of mine would be this season's game against the Indiana Pacers where they won with a Carl Landry tip-in, beating the Pacers 102-101 in an overtime thriller. They're not a playoff contender nor will they be in the near future but it's still nice to see that the Kings are staying put in Sacramento. read more

After living in Sacramento for almost 5 years and a basketball fan, I finally attended a Kings game; if you consider losing by over 20 points even a game. I'm not a Kings fan, but I like to support local teams. The stadium is a great time and even though I was in the nosebleeds, the view was actually not bad. The crowd, the fans, the atmosphere was all amazing. I hope the new stadium will be even better than this one. It's too bad the prices on everything here such as food and drinks are jacked up to the max. But, what can you expect? They have to make money somehow...but $9.50 for a coors...next time, I am going to pre-game beforehand. I'll be back again, for sure. Go Kings!...unless they are playing the Lakers. read more

I've been a long suffering kings fan. I can live with the bad product on the floor. What I can't deal with is the fiction versus reality of the new arena. In one years time the place has gone to crap. For being billed as the most high tech arena in the world, they sure do suck. The phone charging station has had broken iPhone jacks since the season started. The $9 pizza slice automatically puts in a 15% gratuity for counter service and doesn't even have peppers or cheese. When I asked they told me if I wanted those, I'd have to go clear across the arena. The parking is woeful and the product on the floor continues to disappoint. Sacramento taxpayers were duped into paying for this behemoth. We should at least get a working iPhone jack at the charge station. read more
