HuHot or Not? HuHot is a Mongolian style buffet. After you fill a bowl with raw meat fruits and vegetables you will have a selection of sauces. The sauces have a burn rating from zero to seven . The service is lackluster. I truly feel this can be fixed with some more training. The food more often than not looks great however I have been here on occasion when it looked like it had been setting out for days and had a slime on it. Your best bet would be to come during a dinner rush when they are forced to change out the food often. read more

The food is ok however the staff is very unprofessional. The chef and a manager were talking about personal matters in front of everyone while cooking the food, as if we weren't standing there. And they were being extremely sloppy, throwing dishes everywhere. It was very rude. Our server was nice, except all the servers seem to do, as far as serving is concerned, is get drinks and probably desserts. But at least he was polite. Ah, all you can eat places.... You may leave full but never satisfied. I visited HuHot Mongolian Grill after not being able to find any seating for 2 at the Baker Street Pub on a Friday night. Although, I'm a little wary about Mongolian grills I figured I would give the place a try. The atmosphere is pleasant enough with an open floor plan, and the grill centrally located near all the tables. The downside of the setup, however, is the smell of cooking food permeates the dinning room, so you end up walking out smelling like BBQ. After the waitress gave us our rundown on how the whole place operates, we ordered salad and soup starters that came with the meal. They ran out of hot and sour soup, so they brought me egg drop instead. It tasted okay, weakly of chicken broth and egg. After our starters, we attacked the ingredients bar. The first red flag presented itself in the meat section. Frozen. All the meat selections were sad looking thin frozen pieces. For 12$ per person I guess I shouldn't expect much, but I don't understand why they can't have the meat defrosted before it's on display. Second red flag was the sauce bar. Although they keep it relatively clean, the decorative cut outs around the sauce containers provided little nooks and crannies where emulsion of sauce get stuck. I'm not a clean freak, so it didn't turn me off, but it didn't look entirely sanitary. Otherwise, there was a fair selection of vegetables, noodles, and sauces that you put into a little bowl for cooking. Once you think you have something yummy they throw your ingredients on the grill to cook. Since I like my meat and veggies in stir fry crispy, I was disappointed about how long they kept it on the grill. The cooks only left the stir fry on long enough to cook the thin pieces of meat through, so it wasn't to my liking. If I were to play it again, I would ask them to cook it for longer. Live and learn lesson for me. After sitting down to eat, I felt the food turned out okay. The sauces tasted a little weak, so I would recommend putting around 6 or 7 ladles in any one stir fry, or picking a sauce that's a little hotter than you normally would. Overall, I think HuHot caters more to families who have many different tastes and who would like a little entertainment with their meal. read more

This place seems like a cool novelty, but in reality it's not very well done. There are cooks that grill the meats/noodles/veggies that you choose, like a poor-man's hibachi, but the way it's cooked and the way they clean the grill and toss the trash/grease/crust on the floor around them makes for an unappetizing experience at best. Feb 2017.... pretty gross. The servers were kind and efficient, but the floors were horribly sticky, the bathrooms dirty, and the sauces/foods seemed to not be what they were years ago when we frequented here and loved it. I don't recommend this place unless they clean it up. read more

Went there for the first time with my family to take my grandma out to enjoy eating together since she was visiting and its been years since we have seen her. Her plate, my step dad's, and my sister's had food that was still raw or cold after they cooked our food. My plate had egg shells mixed into the food and had food from other people mixed with mine. Today 10/10/21 at 3:30 pm the older asian lady server in all black was the actual main reason we left. We still tried to enjoy our day till she came by with the check. She informed us about tipping and kept aggressively pushing on it. Told us multiple times. And even after still went on about it. Even with a bad experience with the food and most of us not even bothering to eat our food, we still tipped. My mom tipped seven dollars. The server picked up the receipt and showed it to my step dad and started talking down on my mom about how her tip sucks. And that we should tip more. We just got up and left. Never coming back such a horrible place. If i can give this no stars i definitely would. read more

Easy and simple concept, your server takes your drink order and you pick out the ingredients to your meal and then prepared on a grill in front of you. It's reasonably priced for the amount of food you can have (all you can eat) The only downsides were that the broccoli was under-cooked and the music playing was bad. read more

Jason, I don't know you, but any new store will have issues at first. With that said I eat out often. I have been here about oh....... 4-5 times. Every time the service was mostly beyond great. The food and food service was great. Drinks being refilled could be better, but there newish so I won't cut them a star for that. With that said, I am in business and there are more haters than lovers, so I will cut them some slack since I understand how tough it is, so I will give them 5 instead of four, but I give you 6 months hu hot, to refill my diet coke before its on empty!!!! The service was great, welcoming and friendly. The process was cumbersome. Basically, you're left to guess which of the many uncooked ingredients laid out salad bar-style will make good stir-fry, put them in your bowl, then hand it to the guys at the table-sized hot plate to stir-fry it up in front of you for your viewing pleasure. The food is average but in no way bad. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. Kids seemed to enjoy choosing their ingredients and watching someone else cook it. I really really love this place but I every time I go, I get a little more disappointed. Super good food, but sometimes it ends up not being cooked enough or someone elses food mixes with mine. They need to have a fully trained staff on the grill. They seem to be messier and most of the time seemed lost. I hope it gets back up to the place I remember. read more

I was very disappointed in the service and food. My husband and I went during lunch, we sat down and happened to be next to what appeared to be a manager and some staff. I can only assume they were drinking on the jobs as they repeatedly voiced the need for ANOTHER beer. Unprofessional, immature staff.The buffet was dirty and left me afraid to eat any of the meat. We handed our bowls to the cook (which the bar area seems quite dirty too) and when he was done instead of handing us our bowls back he just strategically put them right next to his tip jar on the other side. This is a good Mongolian BBQ place. They make it right, and their prices are good. They do a much better job than Genghis Grill.

I have no idea how people can prefer Genghis Grill over Huhot. Sure the salads and soups aren't great, but you are there for the Mongolian grill, just skip the soup and salad. The grill is so much better than Genghis Grill. My only complaint is that sometimes they are a little slack at refilling some of the meat and sauces. I highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for Mongolian grill. read more

I am glad I found HUHot as I can eat there Gluten Free and not get sick. Before they cook my food on the large round grill they use plates to section off my food. They scrub the grill, use water to wash the area off and cook the food within the sectioned off area. An allergy menu is available and there are lots of offerings on the buffet bar and several sauces you can add to your food choices. The service is good and the prices seem fair. read more

My daughters and I stopped by here for lunch today (Saturday). We were quickly greeted and seated. Our waitress, Celia, asked if we'd been here before (which we hadn't), asked if we had any food allergies, and explained to us the process. They had a wonderful selection of noodles, meats and veggies! The options seemed endless. The Pad Thai Noodles are gluten free and delicious. They also have an extensive selection of sauces. You can be a creative as you like .. but if you need help they have 'recipe cards' on your table to help you put together a tasty dish.
