Chinese buffets in Wichita. Well this one is by far the largest one, the buffet and the dining are both very large. The buffet by Town East might be about the same size, but not the dining area. They have the lowest price. They are not just a buffet but also a Hunan grill. While not near as much variety as HuHot, it's still there and just as fresh. I have never seen this place with stale food. The servers have always been attentive. On weekends they have crawfish (craw-dads to you hill-billies). While no where near as large and quite as good as what is available far far away where Fat Tuesday is celebrated, the flavor and quality is top notch. Every thing was cold over done and had a funky taste.the shrimp and sweet and soul chickem was so hard you couldn't bight through it.

New to KS, tried this place on a Friday evening. I am not even being dramatic when I say that I wanted to turn right around after stepping in, but I tried anyway. First, there's an unsettling smell. Old, musty? Then half of the place is literally pitch black; they didn't bother turning on the lights on one side of the resturaunt. It was also dead quiet; just me and two other tables for Friday dinner. Lastly, the food selection is tinyyyy and looked questionable. I was so disappointed in the food. The food was cold, it was very soggy no crisp. The sushi. cucumber and other vegetables were expired I spited the sushi out. When I told them the food wasn't warm or hot enough they said that "Asian only eat this not American" wdym I'm Asian and feeding the Americans this white wash shit is putting a bad reputation on us that is just embarrassing for the restaurant itself. I enjoyed my meal so much last night (Buffet), that I decided to order off the menu tonight and take out, to bring back and enjoy at the hotel watching TV. I ordered the hot & sour soup...of course...!!! It was perfect. I also ordered the Pork Egg Foo Young, also one of my favorite dishes. It was equally as good. I also ordered the Pork chop Suey...I knew better, but ordered it anyway... way too much food for me to finish, but it was good also. My meal was perfect, prepared well, packed to go nicely...service with a smile. A good meal once again. So my advice...give these guys a try...!!! read more

We were highly disappointed in the quality of the food, especially for the price. $47 for a family of 4 (and we got waters), so not too bad, but wish we would have picked something cheaper and familiar and would have gotten better food. Everything tasted second rate and in my opinion was the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I didn't try the sushi or probably half the things on the buffet, so there's that. The rice and Lo mein noodles were weird tasting, the broccoli beef was cold so I told the waitress, who informed they would bring out more and when they did, it was as cold as the first batch! The egg rolls tasted weird too..there were some things that were good in all fairness like the broccoli salad, sweet and sour chicken, general tsos chicken..but there are several other things that tasted weird. So I have been in Kansas for 4 days and just when I thought I wouldn't be having any food adventures in this place.. I found this chinese buffet randomly.I was in a rush for work, so I ran in to get a to-go box to grab some things off the buffet. As the norm of all chinese buffet restaurants, I expected and got the expected: tacky decorations, big open eating area, lots of fried food, and non-smiling but fast & efficient service. One big thing that is different is that they charge a flat $9.99+ tax for the to-go box. How is that weird you ask? well, many of the places here in Texas charge per lb. So after you fill your box, they weigh it and charge you for the weight. This place, I was able to add some of the beef & broccoli sauce on my rice without worrying about the extra 50 cents I would have to pay for the extra flavor! They have a ton of variety, some little choices of sushi, baked salmon, salad items, crab legs. But here the BEST part! I found spicy baby octopus (in the chilled section) marinated to perfection. and.. FROG LEGS! I know, what a suprise right? Tried to charge us full price for the buffet even though half of the items were not put out and weren't going to be put out. When I asked if they were willing to charge us half price for a half the buffet they said thats not how they do it. Why in the world would I agree to full price when I'm only getting half the items they would normally put out. I wouldn't. They have lost our business. They don't deserve any stars. My husband and I went in to try and give it a chance because I used to go there all the time it was great. However tonight the raw meat and veggies at the grill had a lot of flies setting on all the food. My husband told me to over look it because he thinks I imagined seeing it and he seen it too. The meat looked funny they grilled my food and I went to get some pineapple and there were bats all over the fruit area and a lot of the fruit looked wilted. I didn't get any especially since my appetite was going bye bye and I was fighting running for a trash can. I sat down and took a bite and discovered nats on my plate yes I lost my stomach right at the table I reported it to management and our waitress all was done is i sorry I sorry nothing else I didn't even get half out telling them and they cut me off before I could say much. My friends, kids and I wanted to go out and eat Chinese food I was told by a few people this place would be good my friend even suggested we should come here because it's hers and her family's favorite place. When we got there we were greeted nice and friendly, I went up to get two plates for my kids honey chicken and noodles my oldest refused to eat it which was odd because she loves honey chicken my youngest was taking tiny bits she ate some of her rice but was having a hard time chewing it so she ended up pushing the the plate to the side, I was confused and when I took a bit, the chicken was soggy and didn't taste right, and the rice was super hard it's like they left them sitting there user the heated lights for so long. So I decided they can eat the pudding and ice cream (the ice cream was good but the pudding tasted awful) , I went up and got my food and the food was super hard, dry, and flavorless. The next day my youngest and my friend got super sick I figure it was because if the rice since they were the only ones eating it while everyone else got something else other than rice. It was on the warm side coming in. They had a fan on the fish tank, for Pete's sake. The buffet was not the best. Items were crunchy that should not be, chewy, rubbery, obviously needing exchanged. The waitress never came to offer me a refill on my tea, which had very little ice in it. I've had better lunches here. I guess dinner is a bust. Guess I will stick to eating lunch here. It's a lot fresher than dinner. I was here around 8 pm, so it's not like they were closing any time soon. At least I didn't throw a fit like one guy did. read more

This is my regular china buffet because it near my work and they have a special item that I love. OK, it Frog Legs, I was raised on Frog Legs back in Arkansas and love them, but not a common item except down south. This is a fairly new restaurant and very nice place. They have a huge buffet like so many others out there. I love nearly everything they have and tonight really enjoyed the roast beef, frog legs, several styles of shrimp, spicy Cajun crawdads and crab legs. They have a sushi bar, Mongolian BBQ, and a nice desert table. The one thing I would like for them to add is more veggie selections and some rolls. I always eat way to much here and enjoy it all, and am happy to recommend this place for a good buffet for $9.99 for dinner and $6.49 for lunch. read more

This place used to be a lot better but honestly I don't think its downfall is entirely its own fault. The last time I went here was at dinner time and they had just brought out a full container of freshly steamed crab legs that looked amazing. As I walked up to the buffet to get some, three rather overweight people stacked their plates at least a foot high with the crab legs and emptied the entire tray in just a few minutes. I didn't get any crab legs at all. So in conclusion, this place suffers from some seriously glutinous customers who take in a massive amount of calories in one sitting and probably don't even taste their food. Most of their customers are this way and I can see why it's difficult to keep food in the buffet. Needless to say, the food quality has suffered greatly because of this. read more

It had been awhile since I had been here, like say 4 years. It was about 1 1/2 hours before closing... so 8pm on a Saturday night. About 12 people there when we got there and about 6 showed up before we left. Food quality has definitely gone downhill since I was last there. Some dishes were empty and no replacement in sight. I was interested in trying this location after reading previous reviews. Typical buffet? Not really pans were partially filled and some food was dried out. The restaurant was not crowded. Staff was fairly friendly but did not go out of their way to even smile. I'm in town for work. If I lived here it would not be a place I would visit regularly. Husband and I went to dinner before going to drive inn. Thought wed enjoy dinner out where its fast due to being buffet but still can sneak in some veggies. Was I mistaken, what snuck in was a very long black hair in the stir fry like green beans. So gross! This place used to be such a great place to eat but just continues to go down hill. About what I expected. A bit better than most buffets..and the big plus for me was crab legs. Very nice staff, and pretty fresh food.
