This location is located inside the gas station and I was helped right away. I ordered a large Mango Gelati (way too big, but I was missing my old home city). Well imagine having your own personal dessert truck coming directly to you for that private party at a specified time arranged by you and the owners. Well guess what?? Your wildest dreams are about to come true! In the midst of everything going on in the world, we decided to give Kona Ice Thousand Oaks a shot and have them come out to one of our family members residence. The minimum order amount to have them come out was easy to hit, it was for sure less 50 bucks. We were able to select the sizing of our shaved ice's prior to the event and prepay so everything was already settled. On the day of the event, all of the kids and adults patiently waited in the driveway and we all got excited when we saw the Kona Ice truck coming down the street playing some Hawaiian style music. Once they pulled up to the curb, we each stood in line and picked out our flavors (up to two flavors per shaved ice cup). Once we individually ordered, they handed up our shaved ice's following their strict pandemic guidelines. Within about 15 minutes, we all had our shaved ice's in hand and the driver of the Kona Ice said their goodbyes as they headed to their next event. We enjoyed the Kona Ice experience so much, we actually ordered them a couple weeks later. Great idea for kids birthday parties, block parties or just a special treat for the kids in the neighborhood. They bagged me up my selection fresh and I was on my way. They had an extensive menu of flavor options if you order ahead, and a small selection of the most popular available by default. If I recall, the minimum order for one of the non-standard flavors was not a large amount. Maybe enough for a small gathering of friends. That made me really happy - if I wanted to try something exotic I wouldn't have to buy on a grand scale.

We parked in the lot next to it and walked in where there was no line, but a couple of people who already ordered and were waiting for their bowls and such. I was unsure of what to order, what the differences were, and if their açaí had any dairy in it. The guy behind the counter was confident and was able to tell me that they're dairy free and that the build your own bowls are the same price as the pre-made selected ones that were also on the menu. He was incredibly helpful and made the experience not feel awkward. Everyone there just seemed so happy to be there and it had a good vibe. After ordering, we sat down and waited 5-10 minutes or so for our 2 medium sized açaí bowls. The mediums are about 24oz. of product, which sounded like a lot to me, but I was able to finish in one sitting. The açaí was so authentic tasting vs. a sugary smoothie tasting one. The honey on top was a free option as well which was nice. Overall, a bowl is around $15-$16 plus tax, but for a medium bowl was around $18/$19 plus tax. It's definitely a little on the pricier side, especially when a meal on average is $15 or so. With the surrounding area also being families and students, I feel like I would go there more if they were just a couple dollars cheaper, but I don't mind paying it if it's every once in a while.
