    Combo plate with ribs
    Tracy D.

Located on the Road to Hana. Outside seating with a view of the beach. Food was Soo good. The combo plate comes with rice, salad and macaroni salad. The meats were so tender. Comes in a take away container and definitely shareable or make two meals out of it. Super friendly service.

No vegetarian options other than the sides. However, our carnivore friends heard so much about it so we stopped by for them. We did end up ordering the macaroni salad which is pretty darn good. The Huli Huli chicken is really good according to our friends. The restaurant is almost road side stand by the beach with some picnic tables. Plenty of parking so come on by and give it a try.

Great hidden gem that is a great local spot that is friendly to tourist. Don't let the simple and unassuming set up scare you away because the food is so worth it. The service is welcome and fast, the menu is simple with only 3 options but you won't be disappointed, the chicken is so juicy and flavorful you will love it. The ribs are so tender and tasty you wish they would have given you more. I am so glad our tour guide too us here. We loved it and oh yah the view is breathtaking!!

Well, this was the place that we were told we needed to check out and we were glad that we did. It was part of our tour of the road to Hana. The chicken was delicious and I was surprised with the cold macaroni, but I was told that is traditional. I would definitely want to try a Huli Huli chicken recipe when I get back. I think the view was the most impressive part. Sitting and watching the waves crash against the rocks was a scene from out of a movie.

Also this is not "Huli Huli" since it is not rotisserie. This is bbq chicken. There are much better places if you want to try the real deal.

Beats any Huli Huli I've tried in Oahu! This another certified broke da mouth bangahhhz You can smell that chicken roasting in da open flames ‍ da chicken was JUICY well worth da stop and money... plus the location is prime--koki beach quickly became one of my favorites There was a bit of a long line but it went by pretty quick

Was lucky enough to try their Huli huli chicken, they only had a few left when we arrived. It is cash only, so beware! I loved the smoky flavor of the chicken and we had such a pretty view of the red sand beach while eating. Definitely try if you are in the area!

We had to try this chicken spot on the road to Hāna. We got there a little early and they were still setting up, so we explored the red sand beach. Crazy waves there, I would not want to get in the ocean too far from the beach. The place is like a stand but they had several different types of seating. Outdoor, indoor, and a tent with seating. We got in line and ordered from the cashier. They only take cash since service isn't good. We ordered a pork and kale plate and a combo plate. Everything was delicious! The chicken was very tender and flavorful. The pork and kale was a little bland but once I added some soy sauce, it was really tasty. Would recommend to anyone who is traveling the road to Hāna!

My first thought....INTERESTING! Huli Huli chicken is located near the end of the road to Hana and is worth the stop. The food is outstanding. If you have never eaten Huli Chicken you are missing out on a wonderfully moist marinated bird that is then smoked and bbq'd. It was delicious!!! The side of Asian salad was mild with just enough sweetness and sourness to make it delicious. The side of macaroni salad was as good as the chicken woman ingredient I won't mention because you've got to try it. We guessed and were correct but it was so mild. I'd like to experiment this at home and try to duplicate its protein ingredient. Ribs were equally outstanding and fall off the bone. Fantastic staff who are friendly. Be forewarned, this is a cash only business so be prepared. A definite recommendation to go-to when in Hana, HI.

Huli huli chicken was a great experience! The food was delish and the staff were really friendly! We ordered the combo plate with huli huli chicken and kalua pork/cabbage. It also came with white rice and mac salad. The whole plate was amazing and even though I saw every person in front of me pour a bunch of soy sauce on their chicken it really did t need it at all. It was so flavorful and tender and juicy! We also tried their lemongrass tea and it was really refreshing!

When you've got a sign that says Gordon Ramsay was here, you know it's going to be good. We got the combo plate and cornbread. The huli chicken and ribs were both so tender and not dry at all. Really really good. The cornbread was good as well, so it's worth trying. However, the price of a combo plate was literally an arm and a leg. Pretty expensive.

Quick lunch break on the road to Hana and I finally got my hands on huli huli chicken! We got there maybe about 20 minutes after they opened but it looks like they were still getting some things set up. Between the four of us we ordered two plates of chicken and 1 plate rib combo. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect, but the chicken was so tasty and literally cooked to perfection. The white meat wasn't dry at all. BBQ is a bit of a hit or miss since the sauce can sometimes be too sweet, but that definitely wasn't the case. The portions are very generous. The ribs were also quite good, but I think I prefer the chicken over the ribs! They have plenty of seating and you're right next to a small beach. Portable bathrooms were pretty clean as well. Cash only!

We stopped by here on the road to Hana, come early if you can because they're so busy-- they usually sell out before 3pm! We were the last customers they served and they were so kind to give a combo plate with an extra scoop of Mac salad. This place is CASH only, so come prepared! There are plenty of benches along the beach to sit and eat, before taking a stroll. They have port-a-potty's, however no handwashing sink. Food was delicious, and service was delightful! :)

Ask the Community - Huli Huli Chicken

Hello, I read that reservations are required. How do you make a reservation? The phone number is not a working number as of today, May 1. Thanks.

The place is on the beach in Hana, they sell out early. There's no reservation

    Are there gluten free options?

The chicken is seasoned with a special soy mixture. However, on certain days of the week, they serve a kalua pork with cabbage plate. This plate is gluten free

Anyone been to Huli Huli Chicken recently? What days are they open and until what time?

Open daily at 11:00 until they are sold out

    What are there hours?

Open at 11:00am until they're sold out

Are they open 7 days a week now?

Not sure, we were there on Sunday, so most likely.

Do they open on Saturday as well?

When I last visited in November, they said they are only opened Saturdays and Sundays.

    What are their business hours?

I don't know if they have strict business hours, but I believe they open at 11am-ish. Was there 2 weeks ago (on a Tuesday) and got there 10:50 am and they were still setting up and started taking orders around 11:15 am. I think they stay open as…

Two perfectly cooked eggs with that runny yoke, two hamburger patties, onion, rice, and a generous portion of gravy. All of that combined made a great lunch. If you're not starving, then there's enough to share for two. One of the best Loco Mocos we had on our trip. They're located in an area with multiple little food trucks, and they have plenty of tables in the middle to enjoy your food. There's a little parking lot nearby - we didn't have any problems finding a place to park. Their hours are not necessarily on a timetable - I don't think they opened until an hour after what they said online. But if you can make it while they're open, then it is totally worth it.

Both the wife and I decided on Joel's and for once we both decided on the same dish. With a quick order, we were spending some time finding a seat, and looking at some of the other vendors who are also here at the trucks. This is a great and casual place to get your food on. There are a couple of other places that you can go, but the food to choose from here at least for me is just too hard to beat. When we got our food, we were happy it's the portions of both the teriyaki beef and the garlic shrimp. I would suggest that if you get the garlic shrimp, that you have anyone else whom you plan on talking to or being closer than 2 feet from you also eat the garlic shrimp. These things are delicious but will keep vampires away for quite a while. Simply put this is a great stop to get your quick food on, easily eat in 10-15 mins and you can be on the road in 30 mins or less if your in a hurry, or like us, just soak in that glorious weather and have a great meal. The portion size was appropriate and the price is typical of what you will find on the island and keep in mind that you are also in Hana so just keep that in mind. No dollar menus here!! You find yourself on the road to Hana, stop in at the food truck area and stop and Joel's. You wont be sorry.

Be sure to watch for the sign as you approach - we drove by the first time and came back to make it into the parking lot. The person taking orders was helpful and warned us right away that they were out of curry. The person who makes it measures from her heart, won't share her recipe, and was out shopping. We shared the fried rice with chicken and some spring rolls. It was all so delicious, and fun to sit on the deck and watch the road and town while relaxing after the crazy road. My real praise starts a couple hours later. As we made it to our next stop, I remember that I had never taken my bag off the back of the chair back at the restaurant! I called as soon as we had a phone signal again, and the gentleman who answered the phone assured me right away that he'd seen it and was keeping it safe. I told him we'd be back for it the next day, and he told me what time he'd be there. Luckily for me, hubs drove back alone the next day (he loves the road, and it's more fun for him without me panicking from the passenger seat). The man at the restaurant said he'd tried to get our attention as we left, and again when we drove by after visiting the shore! I was so grateful to have my stuff back, and be able to board our plane the next day with my id. P.S. - the food and service was 5 stars even if they hadn't helped with my mix up later!
