    Where the magic happens
    Heather V.

I can't say this enough.. if you are in Maui and find yourself on the Road to Hana, PLEASE make it a point to visit Braddah's. Just wow. And then some. It's off the beaten path but 160% worth the trip. We stopped in right as they opened at 11am on the dot and you can smell the fresh bbq miles away (not to sound dramatic). The magic of Braddah's takes place in front of his house serving up Hawaiian bbq classic like Kalua pig, chicken, ribs, and grilled fish. And the portions are massive with plenty to share. Making the ambiance homey and inviting. Braddah's is a Hawaiian experience in itself. Braddah himself is a character and friendly as ever. After getting to know him we learned he may be taking his cooking to Utah, which is where my buddy was from. He even had a note pad stacked with local Utah residents addresses to share the good news with once the move is final (to ETA) which is more than enough reason to get to Braddah's STAT! They only accept payments via Venmo or cash so come prepared. All lunch plates are served with two scoops of rice and macronni salad. You can purchase sodas and drinks for $2. Also offering banana bread and seafood pastas as additional options. We had to try his Kalua chicken and man of man, what a meal. The bbq flavors and stickiness of the meat is top notch. Accompanied by the pork ribs that were fall off the bone tender. Snag yourself a seat and one of the covered bench tables and stay for a while. We loved everything about Braddah's. Which capped off our trip to Maui in ways we didn't dream of.

Banana bread!!! So moist and delicious and better than the bababa Sandy's supposedly bread stand with no bananas bread!!!

Ashamed to admit that I didn't get Maui with creamed sauce because I do not usually eat Mahi Mahi. The bbq chicken was very good and it is a lot of food so that we can easily share or you can plan on having leftovers which proved to be good thing for the group of six for us. Some of the group shared the meal and some of them had leftovers to enjoy! All of us had bbq chicken so that we cannot give review on all the dishes they serve. To me, the biggest star was their banan bread. We drove to Sandy's banana bread stand only to find out that they ran out of banana bread around lunch time and we saw the person who took the last banana bread there. It was a small loaf of banana bread. Then, bam! I foind the best banana bread sold in my life here!!!! There was so much banana in it so that I could see layers of banana pulp and very slightly sweet that complimented sweet and well done the bbq dish they served really well!!! And two for one!!! Why drive to banana bread stand where they run out of their main attraction halfway through the day and go to lunch separately when you can get both in one place?!!?! The banana bread portion was so huge that we ate it for a few days afterwards!!! We loved this restaurant and cannot wait to go back!!! So glad that we found this place during our trip to Maui:))

You HAVE to come here! We stopped for lunch while doing the road to hana and we were blown away by how good the food was. I got the bbq pork and my husband got the bbq chicken. The bbq pork was tender and flavorful, served with the best mac salad i've ever had and the rice was yummy too, having been soaked in the sauce from the pork. Tried my husband's chicken and it was good too, he loved it and was raving about his meal as well. Go here you won't regret it!

If you're ever in Hana and they're open, just stop! The plates here come PACKED, so order with the intention of sharing. Everything is cooked to order and food comes out hot, fresh and delicious! There's a covered table area but take it and go eat somewhere with a great view. After all, you're in beautiful Hana!

If you are hungry after a short but long, winding drive via Hana hwy, you are in for a treat. This is the place to satisfy your hunger. Get BBQ chicken and BBQ RIBS. Thank me later. CASH or VENMO only.

This was quite possibly the best pasta I've ever had. It was so good and the portion size was so big my husband and I shared it and couldn't finish it. The vegetables and chicken in it were perfectly cooked. It was just so good! Highly recommend.

If you ever are in Hana you should try the Braddah Hutts BBQ! Parking is really limited so that can be a challenge if they are busy. They accept cash and Venmo so be prepared. The BBQ ribs are delicious and I especially loved the macaroni salad. I gave a four star only because nothing compares to my 8 hour smoked bbq ribs ;) pictured

Braddah Hutt's BBQ in Hana was everything I hoped it would be--and more. I used to come here as a kid, but this time I came back with a fresh perspective (and a newfound love for mac salad). I used to be afraid of it... now I'd come back just for that. We had the BBQ pork ribs and chicken, and both were absolutely unreal--tender, flavorful, and just straight-up satisfying. Honestly, some of the best chicken I've had on the island. After the long, stunning drive to Hana, this was the perfect plate lunch to refuel and take in the local flavors. If you're anywhere near Hana, Braddah Hutt's is a must.

All I can say is bring you big boy pants! There is so much food on just one order! You can easily split on order with someone else. The barbecued pork is excellent and has a sweet flavor. The picnic area is clean and well kept. Highly recommend if you are in Hana to stop here at their little food truck area.

Great BBQ.I needed a gluten free meal so they adjusted the BBQ rib plate with sautéed vegetables rather than macaroni salad. Delicious!

There's parking out in front, right next door is a little shops for souvenirs/gifts/jewelry and further down are some BBQ spots. Theres plenty of covered outdoor seating to take a break and stretch your legs. The island chef let us know everything is fresh and the fish for the fish n chips was marlin. Also recommended ordering the coconut shrimp which is butterflies then pounds out so you got some bigggg coconut shrimp. And finally mentioned we order the shrimp with tiger sauce instead of the garlic shrimp because the tiger sauce was his own creation of butter/garlic/sweet/heat. The fish had a light fry and the marlin was meaty. That tiger sauce OMG was finger licking good. Not too sweet and perfect for those juicy shrimp and plate of rice. Delicious! He even brought out some kalua pork for us to try. Tender and not overly saucy. Worth the stop! Cash only btw

We were debating whether to try another place but I'm very pleased we decided to go with Up in Smoke instead. The portion was reasonable for the price (It's a touristy destination, so don't complain about pricey food. I mean come on, what do you expect?) especially with how much meat was piled on top of the rice. I covered my bowl in the hottest hot sauce they had and I swear it was some of the most delicious hawaiian food I had my entire time on the island. I also got a side of homemade mac and cheese that reminded me of how my mother used to make it. The entire meal only cost me $14 which was a lot better than some of the other trucks on the Hana Highway. Great staff too, they recommend my meal. I bet anything else on their menu would be just as delicious!

But luckily they didn't take the day off that we went. The one lady operating the stand was from Long Island, a few towns over from my hometown, which was surprising that she somehow settle in the middle of nowhere along the Road to Hana. She was very friendly and nice to chat to, all while she was working fast to get the orders churned out. I got the Kalua Pig Taco ($7.00), slow cooked shredded pork on a large tortilla with cheese, beans, homemade salsa, and shredded cabbage. Part of my concern was that everything was sitting in buffet like-trays. Luckily the food was still fresh. The kalua pig was tender and flavorful. The salsa was not very spicy but they did have bottles of BBQ Sauce, Sweet Chili Pepper, and Hot Chili Garlic by the front counter to squeeze on my taco. I love spicy, so I tried the Hot Chili Garlic that did add some good heat to the taco. But overall, I didn't really feel like all the ingredients really meshed well together. Everything was good on its own, but altogether, it didn't really have that wow factor. I also tried the Shrimp Taco ($8.50). The shrimp was firm and not dried out from sitting in the tray. The rest of the ingredients were the same as the Kalua Pork Taco. Again, it just didn't impress. Average shrimp taco that was easily forgotten. Between the two tacos, I would get the Kalua Pig Taco for its Hawaiian authenticity, but if you're lucky enough, go to Island Chef for some delicious Coconut Shrimp. They are unbelievably good.
