The magic of Braddah's takes place in front of his house serving up Hawaiian bbq classic like Kalua pig, chicken, ribs, and grilled fish. And the portions are massive with plenty to share. Making the ambiance homey and inviting. Braddah's is a Hawaiian experience in itself. Braddah himself is a character and friendly as ever. After getting to know him we learned he may be taking his cooking to Utah, which is where my buddy was from. He even had a note pad stacked with local Utah residents addresses to share the good news with once the move is final (to ETA) which is more than enough reason to get to Braddah's STAT! They only accept payments via Venmo or cash so come prepared. All lunch plates are served with two scoops of rice and macronni salad. You can purchase sodas and drinks for $2. Also offering banana bread and seafood pastas as additional options. We had to try his Kalua chicken and man of man, what a meal. The bbq flavors and stickiness of the meat is top notch. Ashamed to admit that I didn't get Maui with creamed sauce because I do not usually eat Mahi Mahi. Not only the best food we got on Maui, but possibly the best pork ribs I've ever had. They were thick and meaty, and fall off the bone tender. The portion was so large, we could not close the lid to the container. The BBQ sauce was tasty but not overpowering. The mac salad was also really good, and I'm not much of a mac salad fan. Fantastic food, so why 4 stars instead of 5? I had the Kalua pork and honestly it tasted like Lloyd's premade pulled pork from the grocery store. Glad they provided sriracha to spicy it up because it was good but BORING. The slaw on top was a nice addition (and necessary too). My husband, on the other hand, ordered the BBQ pork, which might be the best pork we have had on the island. I'd give his an easy 5 stars and mine a solid 3 stars, so meeting in the middle at 4 stars overall felt fair. Owners and cooks are super nice and friendly. We got here right at opening and they were super sweet people. It's a food truck with a little parking area and seating area. But my partner wanted to wait to pick up some from Auntie Sandy's, which has the rep of being the best. Mistake! BH's tasted only of real, fresh ingredients and had an airier texture and more cake-like crumb. Maybe other people prefer their bread to be super dense, but I didn't. Also the AS one had a weird flavor that I couldn't place but was off-putting, like too much baking soda, rancid oil or ? ‍ So next time I am getting banana bread here!
