Since the food options are limited in Hana, it was nice to get poke from this food truck. The fish was quite fresh and soft, and the mix of sauces was tasty, although the sauce was a bit too heavy for me. The ratio of fish, rice, vegetables was not ideal (mostly rice, minimal greens, and a standard amount of fish). There's a 3% charge if you use credit card so the total was around $24. The meal was overall enjoyable.

Food: 3 Service: 3 [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: 3[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] After our long drive to Hāna, we were definitely craving some local-style poke, and several people recommended we check out Pokey Bobb's. It's located in a small cluster of food trucks, which is really neat because you get that true local, roadside vibe. There are a few other food trucks in the area, but we were specifically looking for Pokey Bobb's -- and headed straight there. To be perfectly honest, the person working in the truck wasn't very friendly, which was a bit of a turn-off at first. But we were already set on getting poke, so we ordered anyway. I ended up ordering poke, and it was delicious -- fresh and flavorful -- but it didn't completely blow me away the way I expected given all the hype. Still, it was solid and definitely hit the spot after a long drive. I do recommend Pokey Bobb's if you're craving poke while in Hāna, and especially if you want something quick, local, and tasty in a fun food-truck setting.

Some of the best poke I've ever had. Great staff and good overall experience. Camron was awesome and the lady working with him. Had to come back again on the way back from Hana.

After the long drive to Hana this place hit the spot! Poke was fresh! Melted in your mouth! Sauce was on point! If I'm ever back in Maui this is on my list! Thank you for the great food and great service! Loved every bite!

Stopped by the Poke Bobs food truck for a late lunch on our Road to Hana journey. We ordered our food, and the friendly staff member prepared it right away. They have sriracha and soy sauce available to add on to your liking. We split the poke bowl and poke burrito. Both were excellent. The poke was super fresh and so light in color that I thought it was a tomato! But I think I like eating my poke in bowl form better. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We took our food to go and headed down to the picnic tables at the Hana Beach Park to enjoy the ocean air and views. I highly recommend taking the nice break from the car.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Gotta love a business that has a sense of humor. The tip jar says something to the effect of "give us a tip and we'll show you our bobs."

Poke, or "cut pieces" in Hawaiian, fundamentally was a way for fishermen to preserve their catch, rubbing it with seaweed, sea salt and crushed nuts. It's an indigenous dish of the Hawaiian islands and more recently became a staple across the United States. While many varieties exist, Poke Bob's has an undeniable place the world of poke, serving very high quality fish with a succulent marinade. The result is simply perfection and likely the best poke of the trip to Maui. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pleasant people and a fun colorful food truck make the experience worthwhile[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] and this may just be the best food in Hana, although a few other spots around are more popular.

Simple menu, delicious flavors. I was there on a Sunday around 4:30pm and my food came out immediately. I like that they have non-seafood options as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a food truck lot with outdoor seating only.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Not sure if they have restrooms or not as we took our food to go[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I got a super ono BBQ chicken "poke style" bowl for lunch. It was very filling, chicken was cooked just right, rice was perfect. Service was friendly and they will give you a free poke sample if you ask! Imo one of the best food trucks in Hana.

Quick and open seating! Mini poke bowl was delicious (about $15) decent size. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very cozy area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I kind of regret that I only ordered a small size because I wanted to try other things at the pod however of all the things I tried this was by far the best one. It took them maybe 15 minutes to make my bowl , despite no wait but its fine since that gave me time to go order at the other carts . [[HIGHLIGHT]]They don't have a dedicated spot for seating which was a bummer[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] .The fish was fresh and the sauces really good and not overpowering the dish .

Best poke in Hana!! Super fresh fish and seasoned just right. I could easily do multiple meals a day here and maybe have done this at times.

After checking the other food trucks, about 4 or 5, that share the lot with Da Fish Shack, I walked back to this one because I love fish and wanted to try the seared fish (ahi) plate on the menu, and also because of the friendly and warm aloha welcome I received when I approached this food truck the first time and asked questions about their menu which was answered unhurriedly and politely. The grilled ahi was very good - well seasoned, tender and a good portion, without the $$$$ price tag of restaurants in the town of Hana. I also enjoyed the homemade chili and pineapple sauce, and vegetable that came with my ahi. The owner also gave me a nice size sample of poke which was really fresh and delicious too! We ate at a covered picnic table which is clean and provided shade from the sun. I should mention it is an outdoor seating so keep your food covered to keep flies off your plate. A minor nuisance. Also, if you need a bathroom break, there are public restrooms in the beach located 15 minutes from this food trucks stop. Make this your stop after the Hana heavy drive and help support small local businesses! It is a good thing!

We got here at 9 when it first started and this place was packed. We couldn't even find parking nearby, so we parked up the street and took a walk down to the back park. Then we sat under the tent and enjoyed the entertainment. Then the rain came it poured for a bit so many people came under the tent. It was a fun and exciting day. People are very friendly here. This was my first visit to the Taro Fest but definitely not my last…read more It takes place at Hana Ball Park. Parking is challenging but not impossible. The event runs from 9a-5p. There's entertainment, arts & crafts, a sort of mini-trade show, and of course food! The main star of the show is the taro. They have demonstrations on how the plant is prepared in many ways for food. FOOD: Taro Seafood Chowder Similar to a squid luau dish. Lightly flavored with a coconut-based soup, luau leaves, chunks of taro, shredded chicken, potatoes and carrots. Needed more salt IMO. Pokē Balls Chunks of unsalted ahi pokē wrapped in a cake noodle and deep fried. Drizzled with a mild wasabi cream sauce (even I could handle it being a wasabi hater) and orange-colored cream sauce. Had it not been for the cream drizzles, it would've been flavorless. Maybe if the ahi was seasoned it would've tasted better. Or even use tako instead of ahi. A bit pricey at $10 for 2 balls. Apple Snails Similar to escargots, they're farmed from the taro patch. I was so excited to eat this again as I haven't eaten them in years. Again, the preparation was very light on flavor. I believe they sautéed them just in its natural broth because there was no flavor other than the snail and earthy taro patch flavor. It was delish but wish I had some garlic-shoyu mixture to dip them in. There are tons of other foods to try, but I like to try things I can't get everywhere. TIP: Bring an umbrella because Hana can bake you during the day, as well as some salt and shoyu as the sodium content at most food booths are very, very low.

I tried teh Kau Kau Tin with pork belly and garlic noodles, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, and a small mac salad. Generally, the Kau Kau Tin and the mac salad were utterly bland. The mac salad tasted of nothing. The garlic noodles in the Kau Kau tin also lacked flavor. The garlic noodle had the slightest of garlic taste. The pork belly was perfectly cooked and was the best part of the Kau Kau tin and I made sure to make each every piece of that. The Spicy Chicken sandwich was the most disappointing item I tried. The chicken patty was just a VERY FATTY piece of fried chicken. It was terrible. The texture shock alone from biting through crispy crust to gelatinous fat was shocking. But then, the chicken was not seasoned. It was a textural monstrosity that had no flavor. All in all, I'm glad I tried it. I will definitely try it again when back on the island in hopes that this was just a bad day.
