They had lavender shortbread, so I had to stop in and get some! When I see baked goods made with lavender, I can't pass them up, and especially when it's shortbread. And because why the heck not, I also got a toffee pecan shortbread cookie. Why eat just one cookie when you can eat two? While I was there, I got probably the best iced tea I've had in a long time: the holy basil tulsi, which was wonderfully green-tasting and mellow. They have a good selection of all kinds of teas, from rooibos to herbal to black to white to oolong to green and more. But if you're looking for something different, I highly recommend the holy basil tulsi! I'm kind of kicking myself for not buying some of that tea while I was there, because I would love to enjoy it at home. They do sell their teas, so if you're smarter than I am, you will get some tea to take home. One of the great things about HumaniTea is that all of their teas are humanely sourced. They are very invested in combating slavery and human trafficking. So you can feel good that the tea leaves you're enjoying were responsibly sourced. That's a feather in your cap (and in your cup). Another neat thing about HumaniTea is that they offer local kombucha by the growler! I don't think I've ever heard of kombucha on tap, so that's pretty unique. read more

Cute little tea cafe off James street with the door on Loomis. Friendly waitstaff, he was solo. It is a very quiet and laid back spot. Lots of local craft candles, jewelry, art work, bags, etc. for sale inside the shop too. There are lots of wonderful teas, kombucha on tap, desserts and sweets to go with the tea. The teas come in infuser cups, take out the tea tray out of the cup after 5-7 minutes of steeping. Herbal teas are more forgiving of steep time than white, green or black teas. More tea leaves if you want a stronger cup of tea. 100% of their net profits for this cafe go to anti-trafficking and also have a foundation that they take donations for it. We got the peppermint and the ethos herbal teas. They even make tea lattes and have chocolate, caramel and other flavors to add to the teas. read more

Not often do you find a quaint cafe that also works toward a great cause. A portion of each purchase at HumaniTea is given toward pursuits of anti-human trafficking. HumaniTea in Ludington was a wonderful spot to happen upon with a wide variety of tea and coffee options. The cafe had great sitting options and would be a wonderful location to stop in for a beverage and read a book or work from your laptop. The staff was very friendly and the cafe offered many local crafts and novelties for purchase to explore while waiting for your order. The mocha I ordered was also delicious and reasonably priced.
