After finishing our tour at Nearest Green Distillery, a stop at Humble Baron was a must. You cannot visit the property without seeing the longest bar in the world, and it truly lived up to the hype. The bar is absolutely beautiful. The design is stunning, the game was on, and the music set the tone perfectly. The playlist was culture forward with hip hop, R&B, and soul, but not played at a party level. It was just loud enough to enjoy the music while still being able to relax and take in the space. Allisha took great care of us and was attentive and pleasant throughout our visit. For drinks, I ordered the French 95. I am usually a French 75 girl, but when in Tennessee, Tennessee whiskey is the obvious choice. The French 95 was delicious and very reasonably priced. For food, I ordered the smoked wings and fries, and both were excellent. The wings were a solid 10 out of 10 with great flavor, and the fries were just as good and paired perfectly with the drink. When they said the chef used to work with G Garvin, I got excited. And the taste of the food, made me happy. The restaurant is beautiful. Very different layout as it is literally a massive bar. You should be seen at all angles the way it twist and turns. And if there is a show on stage, you should have a view from just about anywhere. The service was a little eh, but they were polite. I think since it was less people, they used the time to train and restock. They actually reuse empty whiskey bottles to serve water, which impressed me. I thought the menu was going to be more elaborate, but less is more. They have ample options and perfected what is on the menu. My southern fried catfish was so good. Flavorful, hot, and crisp. The bar is HUGE - it's the longest bar in the world according to Guinness World Records. We enjoyed our cocktails, which are of course made with Uncle Nearest Whiskey. The staff here are very nice and welcoming. Very patient to have a conversation with first timers (tourist). I had the banana pudding great quantity for price just was too sweet for me but others may disagree really depends on your sugar tolerance. Before the Nearest Green whiskey distillery tour, my dining companion and I enjoyed Sunday brunch at the Humble Baron which shares a part of the distillery property. It is a beautiful place with the world's longest bar that winds throughout the room. There are tables to sit at, but they appeared to be reserved for large parties. No matter, my dining companion and I sat at the bar. I recommend going to their website and getting a reservation. If there is a special event onsite, and that is frequent, you'll be able to rely on your reservation! The restaurant and distillery are about an hour's drive south of Nashville proper. So figure the drive time into your reservation and tour time. The food was excellent. My dining companion ordered the Sage brined chicken and waffles, which included two large whole wings and a very delicate waffle. A light dusting of powdered sugar added to the plate presentation. I ordered the Humble Baron Double Stack, 2 beef burger patties, cheddar, garlic aioli, bacon,arugula, on a potato roll. The burger also came with a generous portion of crispy french fries. We were taking the tour of the Nearest Green Distillery after brunch. And it was a good thing we enjoyed the meal first. The tour is about 1 1/2 hours and there is no refreshment until the whiskey tasting. It helped to have full stomachs at that point. The Humble Baron is definitely the place for those smooth old school vibes. We went for brunch with a friend and we had a great time. We were able to easily make a reservation and there was no wait when we arrived. I liked how they spread everyone out instead of seating people on top of each other in an empty room. The volume on the music was just high enough for you to catch the tune but not lose touch of the conversation. The staff were excellent! They kept the water cups full, the tables clean, and were very attentive. The food, I had to take a star for the food. The peach cobbler French toast leaned too much on the sweetness of the brioche and I didn't get the fresh juicy taste as anticipated for a peach cobbler. I also think if they added a little crunch like make a walnut it would break up some of the softness from the bread being soaked in the "cobbler" and elevate the flavor profile of the dish. The hot chicken and pancakes were a little on the salty side. I also think the tenders were a little skinny for hard fry they had on them. This left more crackling crunch than meat. They have tables for dining but they are known for their big bar that snakes around the large dimly lit room. Humble Baron boasts the largest bar in Tennessee. We had great seats to see /hear the awesome Tyronn Hamilton Jazz trio. 11/19/23: People this is a must dine whether or not you partake in the tour. The decor is sleek and subdued. It is the most unique designed I've seen. Basically one huge bar. Maybe the largest bar around. The food. Prior to the tour needed a little something I ordered the sautéed crab claws... people when I said this simple dish was life altering. It was the most succulent and juicy claws I ever tasted. It was soooo good I kept on wishing the tour would end so I can place another order. Yup once the tour was over I returned for another order. This is located on Uncle Nearest distillery, and is a bar/restaurant with live entertainment. It was memorial weekend, and bustling with customers. There were specials happening for food items for retired veterans and active military 25% off. It's awesome for that support! The hubs stepped away from the bar, so I placed an order of beer, one of their special drinks, and a love and whisky pecan cheesecake. The bartender needed a card on file, and stated that if I need to pay with cash later for check out it would be fine. Everyone was having a good time as conversation and drinks were flowing. The aesthetics of the place is beautiful! The decor, lighting, and ambiance made it welcoming. I wish we were able to stay longer to hear the entertainment. Now this is where my experience sort of went downhill. I understand seeing bartenders being overwhelmed at the bar. That's why it's always good to exercise patience and kindness. We had limited time, so when the drinks and cheesecake were placed on the counter, I did ask for the check. She said ok, but then went on to take more orders, and never came back. We waited a bit before I approached her again. I told her nicely I had to go, and would like to pay the check. She looked annoyed slammed the two glasses down, and went to the register, printed out the receipts, and gave it to me. I was confused, and said wow there's a lot of receipts. Her tone of voice was stern, and unwelcoming, and exclaimed one is for her, one for me, and the other is categorized. My husband and I were just taken aback with her attitude. She was not pleased having to do the military discount on the cheesecake, since she forgot to do it beforehand, and so she projected her frustration onto me. She gave a few dollars back to cover it which we just left in addition to adding more cash for her tip. I hate confrontation and felt uneasy, but still tipped 20 percent. That saying kill them with kindness even when they are not. The cheesecake was unbuuuhlievable. Get it!! This is my experience. Your experience may differ. You would have thought you stepped into a different location when entering this bar. The customer service was HORRIBLE! My family and I were trying to decide if we wanted to eat at the bar or the BBQ restaurant also at the distillery. We saw no hostess in sight a walked to the bar and asked for a menu. The bartender responded "I have 5 drinks to make. I'm the only bartender so I can't right now". I get it, they have the largest bar in the U.S., but that's no way to treat patrons. The only setback I would say is that they don't have enough people behind the bar to take care of crowds. The people that work here were jumping in to help, they even jumped in to give us silverware and water to help. I'm a huge Uncle Nearest fan so imagine my delight when I found out they had the largest bar in the world and when I say largest I mean LARGEST!lol The bar is never-ending and truly cascades almost all of the square footage of the space. The salty and crunchy texture really balances out this sweet breakfast dish. I am definitely a fan! My best friend ordered the Catfish and Grits while my mother order the Shrimp and Grits. What I loved about the grits was the flavor. Some people don't season the roux well enough but at HB you don't have to add a drop of S&P. They give you a lot of shrimp and they are a nice size so you will have a shrimp with every bite. I'm not going to lie I thought the catfish was going to be my least favorite because it was not fried but instead blackened. But it was delicious. Now, I am used to a thicker consistency grit but this was a great dish, as well. Why is this not a 5 star experience you ask? It was freezing inside the venue. I mean, I had on a blue jean jacket and was chilled to the bone. I couldn't wait to go outside to thaw out. And the entertainment was subpar. There was a band of a piano and bass plater along with a jazz/gospel singer and they didn't give that they had played together before. The energy was lack luster and the singer just wasn't my cup of tea. BUT the Sunday Brunch playlist was a hit! Both were prepared very well, seasoned perfectly and had a great taste Ambiance- wonderful- we were there on 10/4 early afternoon after our 2nd tour so it wasn't too crowded and we were lucky enough to see Fawn Weaver and get a photo with her - SWEET!! Our only complaint is our server- Jordan, she needs to be retrained. I gave a 4 star rating because of the food, the ambiance and that Fawn was so gracious which made up for the absolute horrible lack of service we got from Jordan. We were her ONLY customers, we sat DIRECTLY in front of her, she took our orders, served the drinks and that's about it. She NEVER checked on us, never asked if we needed more to drink, she stood several times in front applying lip gloss and on the phone, walked out and left the restaurant several times for long periods again neither before she left or upon her return asked if we needed anything. We asked for a manager, explained who offered free cheesecake (we declined) said something to Jordan, and she still ignored us. She saw we had long finished eating, empty glasses, nothing so I had to ask for the check which then she was in a hurry. As soon as we pulled on to the grounds of the restaurant we loved it! It' is a well kept establishment and we really enjoyed the history upon entrance. We attended the Sunday brunch and Wesley was our server and did a great job with recommendations! Food was delicious and brought out promptly. The only complaint I have was it being a gospel brunch! The musician they chose for June 2nd was talented. Would have loved to hear her play jazz on the sax. So this review is biased. Get over it. It was a wonderful experience. Allow me to explain why it is biased, what I thought about the food, service and ambience. Bias comes from several avenues. The bar is part of the Uncle Nearest TN Whiskey attraction. It is not a distillery, but they have barrels by the thousands. History here is great! I love the story of Nearest Greene and his association with Jack Daniels. This is a family run business descendant from Uncle. I also work with a husband to a direct descendant of Nearest. Enough of the bias and on to the bar! Oh wait. I need to say I visited when they were not very busy. At times, this world recording bar has had to turn people away. I disagree with the plaque outdoors that announces these are the best wings in Bedford County, TN. Limiting them to one county is an insult. These are possibly the best wings I have EVER eaten. This is saying a lot. I own a recipe of Buffalo wings from a bar in Buffalo, NY. Humble Baron wings are not like classic Buffalo wings, they are better. Many restaurants serve tiny wings coated in batter that is thicker than the meat. Nay, nay, I say here. These weMre the meatiest wings I've ever eaten. In fact, hungry as I was, eight were too many to eat. Each bite crunched through a wonderful fried skin. Then a wet sauce and dry rub completed a wonderful experience. They were so freshly cooked, steam rose for every wing, even down to the 7th of 8. Meat inside was tender. WOW! As I said, service was too good due to the low crowd. Every server had time to chat. I busy times, I doubt this could happen. In my opinion even if they were busy, I think they would display the same energy. it is a mea-bar, but the enclaves of horseshoes and curves make you feel as if you are in a neighborhood bar. Lighting is bright, but not overbearing. OK, let me review cost and value. It is expensive. Costs rival the upscale establishments in Nashville. But, the food is GREAT. It is worth it. Overall the food, service, ambiance and value are worth it. Go there. While this has not been a place on my "go to list", it is now. The Humble Baron is unlike any other place I've ever been. It reminds me of a bar that one would find in a place like Dallas Texas. The place is home of the longest bar in the world. I believe it! The music here is fantastic. It is diverse, which is something you rarely see in this area. I food is good. I had a smash burger for dinner as did my wife. She went for the regular fries and I went for the upgraded truffle fries which I later found to cost $7 more. Next time I will just stick with the regular ones. Great place though! Good service.
