When they said the chef used to work with G Garvin, I got excited. And the taste of the food, made me happy. The restaurant is beautiful. Very different layout as it is literally a massive bar. You should be seen at all angles the way it twist and turns. And if there is a show on stage, you should have a view from just about anywhere. The service was a little eh, but they were polite. I think since it was less people, they used the time to train and restock. They actually reuse empty whiskey bottles to serve water, which impressed me. I thought the menu was going to be more elaborate, but less is more. They have ample options and perfected what is on the menu. My southern fried catfish was so good. Flavorful, hot, and crisp. My friends got the smash burger and said it was one of the best burgers they ever ate. We also tried the pecan cheesecake, so worth it. Taste a little, eat a little. It's a good time.

What a treat! They were not kidding when they said they have the longest bar in the world. Super cool! The place is a vibe! And this was just a regular lunch day. I can only imagine karaoke or live music night. The food...so good. I had a Baron Burger and Fish & Shrimp n grits. I especially liked the burger. To drink, I had the Longevity with peach. So good! Definitely recommend a visit! 10 out of 10!

Humble Baron was a 10/10 experience in every way! We stopped in for lunch after touring the distillery and were seated right away. The bar is HUGE - it's the longest bar in the world according to Guinness World Records. We enjoyed our cocktails, which are of course made with Uncle Nearest Whiskey. We did the Humble Baron Old Fashioned, and the Queen's Gambit. The Queen's Gambit really didn't taste like whiskey in any way, but I got a little floater on top which was good. Now, the food. The food was AMAZING! We had the smoked wings, catfish and grits, and the burger and fries. Dessert was also incredible - the pecan cheesecake with whiskey infused caramel - get it!

Before the Nearest Green whiskey distillery tour, my dining companion and I enjoyed Sunday brunch at the Humble Baron which shares a part of the distillery property. It is a beautiful place with the world's longest bar that winds throughout the room. There are tables to sit at, but they appeared to be reserved for large parties. No matter, my dining companion and I sat at the bar. I recommend going to their website and getting a reservation. If there is a special event onsite, and that is frequent, you'll be able to rely on your reservation! The restaurant and distillery are about an hour's drive south of Nashville proper. So figure the drive time into your reservation and tour time. The food was excellent. My dining companion ordered the Sage brined chicken and waffles, which included two large whole wings and a very delicate waffle. A light dusting of powdered sugar added to the plate presentation. I ordered the Humble Baron Double Stack, 2 beef burger patties, cheddar, garlic aioli, bacon, arugula, on a potato roll. The burger also came with a generous portion of crispy french fries. We were taking the tour of the Nearest Green Distillery after brunch. And it was a good thing we enjoyed the meal first. The tour is about 1 1/2 hours and there is no refreshment until the whiskey tasting. It helped to have full stomachs at that point. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and the underlit bar just adds to the fine reserved character. I recommend the Humble Baron!

The Humble Baron is definitely the place for those smooth old school vibes. We went for brunch with a friend and we had a great time. We were able to easily make a reservation and there was no wait when we arrived. I liked how they spread everyone out instead of seating people on top of each other in an empty room. The volume on the music was just high enough for you to catch the tune but not lose touch of the conversation. The staff were excellent! They kept the water cups full, the tables clean, and were very attentive. The food, I had to take a star for the food. The peach cobbler French toast leaned too much on the sweetness of the brioche and I didn't get the fresh juicy taste as anticipated for a peach cobbler. I also think if they added a little crunch like make a walnut it would break up some of the softness from the bread being soaked in the "cobbler" and elevate the flavor profile of the dish. The hot chicken and pancakes were a little on the salty side. I also think the tenders were a little skinny for hard fry they had on them. This left more crackling crunch than meat. Additionally the table agreed the dish was a little too salty.

Visited the distillery for the first time today and after the tour we decided to have some cocktails at Humble Baron-the world's longest bar. Highly recommend the single barrel old fashion, humble baron old fashion and the rocking chair spritz. The bartenders are very attentive, the bar is clean and swanky, and they have a really gorgeous stage for live music. It's be a great place to take a date. I look forward to returning to see some live bands!

Delicious Sunday brunch/lunch with friends. The inside is tastefully decorated for a distillery. They have tables for dining but they are known for their big bar that snakes around the large dimly lit room. Humble Baron boasts the largest bar in Tennessee. I highly recommend you RSVP if you want a table. The bar seating , while plentiful, is also now by reservation/hostess seating. We were seated promptly with no reservations. We had great seats to see /hear the awesome Tyronn Hamilton Jazz trio. The brunch menu includes many of the breakfast favorites chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, pancakes, etc. they also include an array of lunch items. All menu items were affordably priced. We ordered the burgers and catfish and grits. Both were delicious and tasty. They have a fully stocked bar and beverage menu that includes drinks with Uncle Nearest including the brunch favorite mimosa. The service was good. The food was great and entertainment was awesome. The parking is free and easy to access. Highly recommend HB

The food was delicious! We had the catfish and the smash burger with the homemade potato chips and dip app. Just seeing the size of the bar is so impressive. They had some live music while we were there, but it was not super loud so you could still have conversations. Our bartender took very good care of us.

Ask the Community - Humble Baron

Is it easy to get an Uber from the restaurant to go to Nashville?

I went in April and no it was not easy to get an uber back to Nashville. We did luck up and got a Lyft. It might be better to pre-schedule a ride with uber or Lyft before going out there.

I was told that there is a cost to get into the Humble Baron. Is that true?

I went on a Saturday evening, there was no cover to get in.

    What is Sunday brunch like?

DELICIOUS! The food is delicious, the service is amazing, the drinks are always wonderful, and the music really adds to the overall experience! Try the crab claws, they are some of my favorites

Upon arrival, the property itself was absolutely beautiful. The rich green colors, the open driveway, the art that could be visibly seen from the highway. Very gorgeous! The welcome center was clean and modern, displaying history of Nearest Green's lineage, facts about the art of distilling, display cases filled with tools from the original distillery/farm, as well as display cases for their world-renowned Tennessee Whiskey. The staff were all polite and welcoming. Our tour guide (forgot his name, but I have a picture of him!) was awesome! He was funny, personable, and very knowledgeable. He shared that he's been at NGD for the past 3 years and you could tell that he enjoys his job. The tour was great. The only downside was that half of the property was off-limits or non-operational at the moment. The time slot of our tour unfortunately occurred closer to closing time so we weren't able to check out their bar, Humble Baron. We did get to visit the speakeasy on the property and the area where they pour and bottle for the welcome center. It would've been fun to check out the stables to see all of the pretty horsies. Overall, it was a good experience. To visit a place filled with rich history, black history. Praying for the Nearest success for more opportunities to continue sharing the Green legacy.

For starters, the location is down an alley way, hidden off the main area of the Square in the Boro. To get to the speakeasy, you have to find the door, use the phone, and answer a riddle to speak the 'password' to get in. Neat concept and adds to the fun of the overall experience. The cons: - A cover charge - and a healthy one, at that. - Every cocktail, small plate/appetizer, dish, dessert, etc. is on the very high end of price points, and that's even for a Nashville spot - not even considering this as a niche location in the burbs. - For the prices, exceptionally small portions/servings of the food options. We left paying over $150 for our evening and both my wife and I were still hungry... The pros: - Service was fantastic. Extremely friendly from the owner to the bartenders to the servers. No complaints there at all. - My wife took me for my 40th birthday, and they helped significantly make it a special celebration while we were there. A special dessert with "4-0" candles, a rousing musician-led, crowd-involved rendition of "happy birthday" was sung in my honor, and overall just a very enjoyable experience. - Atmosphere was fun and inviting without being too much/stuffy. - The interior of the speakeasy is opulent, small, and cozy, featuring enough room for probably no more than 20-25 people total. - The drinks were very, very good. Overpriced, sure - but at least they were well made and tasty. - The food was absolutely fantastic. Great flavors and seemingly fresh, quality ingredients - well prepared. Overall, a very neat, fun, well thought out experience and something to say we've done - BUT unfortunately with the cover charge, pricing of the individual drinks, food items, etc., it prices us out of frequent enjoyment. We would go with a small group for kicks, but will likely not return otherwise, which is a shame.

Even though she was the only serving staff for the evening, she was always smiling and a joy to talk with. This place has a diverse menu, there is no "cooking at your table" available at some Korean places. I started with the Shumai (steamed dumplings) and ordered the La Galbi along with a Kirin Ichiban beer. These dumplings are an amazing surprise...normally expect shrimp dumplings to be overpowering with the taste of shrimp, but not these. The seafood flavors were light, allowing you to taste shrimp and the other ingredients in the dumpling while a little "dip" into the sweet soy sauce made for an awesome appetizer. The La Galbi...marinated and grilled Korean BBQ beef short ribs were so good, you could taste the sweetness of the marinade, and the meat was so tender. There were several slabs of the short rib and along with the sides was a huge meal. You also get a few different sides like Kimchi (light heat), pickled Daikon radishes (slightly sweet and crunchy), Gamja-salad (slightly sweet Korean mashed potatoes salad), and Korean fish cake (kind of bland for me).  While not a "patio" they do have a dining area that when the shutters are opened, gives it a patio feel...overall the place is nicely decorated and comfortable. The food here is done really well and the service was great; I will be back again to try some of their other dishes like the Jjajjang-Myun and Bibimba.

However, I think it is important to share our experience. I made a reservation for my family of four to celebrate my wife's birthday. I had heard great things about the restaurant, and we are always on the lookout for new places to try. We arrived on time, and were immediately seated. The person that seated us commented, "I have a very nice table for you." Water was provided for the table right away. And then, nothing. We were not given menus. It was several minutes before we even saw any server at any other table. As we looked around the room, we could see there were other patrons who were also being neglected. A couple sitting at one table nearby had menus, but no one took their order. After about 15 minutes, a young man came by the table and asked if we were waiting for our orders. We told him we had not even been given menus yet. He said, "Oh, I'm so sorry! I will get you some menus." He left, but never returned. Finally, my daughter, who is a server at another restaurant in Murfreesboro, went to the front desk and asked for menus. She was provided menus and told the restaurant had several employees "call out" for the evening. We looked over the menus and discussed ordering some appetizers, but no one ever came to take our order. The couple I mentioned earlier finally decided to leave without ordering. As they made their way to the door, an employee apologized to them and told them if they would stay, they would take their order. Meanwhile, at the table behind us, food was delivered. One of the patrons at the table remarked that the dish they ordered was supposed to have chicken, but there was no chicken in the dish. The server apologized and said -- I'm not kidding -- "I can go to the kitchen and get some chicken, and you can add it to the dish." At this point, we decided to leave. As we made our way to the door, the person that seated us noticed and asked if we were leaving. We told her we were, and left. I normally would not leave a negative review based on a single visit, but this experience was possibly the worst I have ever had anywhere. I hope this is an isolated incident that occurred when the restaurant was experiencing an extraordinarily bad night. I would like to give U&I another chance at some point. If I do and the experience is better, I will update this review.
