Someone found this and we were all about it. First off, it's a boat y'all. A fun getaway and on a boat, win win. I've stayed on cruises ships before but this was a first for our own. It's docked in Ventura harbor but not accessible to the open water. Upon checking in, which we had contact with the the hostess, wonderful lady in charge. We asked about an early check in but wasn't for sure if that could work out. Either way, we spent the morning on Main Street for brunch and then received a text offering us a check in a little early. Which was nice. Directions was given via text explaining where to park. She even guided us to the lot that would best be suited and nearby where there boat would be. Parking pass was given as well. Once there, she greeted us and walked us to the boat. It's docked right in the heart of the Ventura harbor where restaurants, shops are accessible right outside our door. Before getting on, of course mask was worn. She asked that only one of us would accompany her on so she can show them around the boat. She guided them through the ins and out of the boat. What to do and not to do and so on. Once we were on, the whole experience was pretty exciting. Upon entering the boat from the side and back. There's a seating area with a picnic table with umbrella. Also two chairs, where the driver of the boat and passenger would sit. Once in, you go down a couple of steps and your right in the living room/dining room. Living area has a built in sofa that could probably sleep a person. There's also a dining table with chairs and flat screen accompanied with dvd. There's also a kitchen a couple of steps down. Full fridge, sink, microwave, stove, utensils, toaster, coffee maker, kettle and so on. There's a powder room across from the kitchen. One side of the boat sleeps 2. Not full bed but bunk style minus the bunk bed. That's at the front of the boat. To the rear is where the main room is. From there, it sleeps 3. The main bed, a full size and an additional twin size to the opposite. It's also where the main restroom with shower is located. As it's right in the harbor, right outside is quite busy. There's a boat and kayak rental that's in-front of the boat. It didn't bother us. It was nice sitting on the deck and people watching. The kayakers going by and just enjoying the marina. The deck was perfect for drinks during sunset and breakfast in the morning. Overall experience was amazing. We had such a great time on the boat. Location was perfect. Plenty of restaurants to enjoy if your not interested in cooking in. Also, there's plenty of public restrooms in the village if needed. As well as the main club where boaters can utilize for showers and sort if not on your boat. Location is amazing. There's a beach literally walking distance across the parking lot. Totally will be a returning customer.

As soon as we entered the room we could tell it had been throughly cleaned. The floors we had were tile or wood and my partner and I appreciated the care that went into prepping the room for us! Staff - 5/5. The staff was super helpful and kind and helped us with recommendations of the nice beaches nearby. Vibe - 100/10. I thought the room was super cute and cozy! It had everything we needed including shower caps and makeup wipes which I thought was a nice touch. There was also complimentary coffee and delicious homemade cookies! There was also complimentary breakfast that was delivered to our room. The only downside that I found was our room was underneath the staircase and could get noisy when trying to sleep in. However I just turned on the TV and was able to sleep through it. Overall I would 1000% come again to The Eagle Inn and stay here whenever I am in Santa Barbara :)

It was clean, spacious and had everything I would need. They have done some updating. The fan they now provide is a new small but very efficient Woozoo fan, not the one they show in the older review pictures. The fireplace was nice and the bathroom was modern and updated. There is a desk & chair along with two charging outlets on the desk and dresser area. They have an ice machine that was always full alongside a vending machine. The only suggestion I would make is to provide a plastic bag for the ice bucket, for sanitary reasons. Luckily, I had one with me. The balcony was very nice with two comfortable chairs and a nice size table. The views were spectacular of the beach. It was very foggy during my stay so no sunset but that happens sometimes. There are several restaurants within a very short walk from the hotel and beach access is easy. It was quiet at night and the sliding door to the balcony had a security bar so you could leave it open a few inches or all the way if you wanted to. The sounds of the waves crashing on the shore made for such a peaceful and restful sleep. They have a good size refrigerator in the room that kept everything really cold and a coffee maker with the regular & decaf pods along with powdered creamer & sugar. The complimentary breakfast consists of cereal, muffins & pastries along with coffee. I thought it was a nice touch. I will definitely recommend this hotel to family & friends and my brother & SIL are already planning to stay here soon. I can't wait to come back, this is my new go to when not camping here in Ventura!

We came on a Saturday early afternoon and started at one of their restaurants. The food was amazing, but service was definitely on the slower side. The vibe was so calm, mostly women just chatting, unwinding, and enjoying each other in this peaceful little paradise. We ordered smoothies poolside and omg...so fresh and refreshing. Service at the spa pool was great, everyone seemed to be working together seamlessly and checking in often without being overbearing. Non-Functional Fireplaces: Despite booking rooms specifically for their private fireplaces, neither unit was operational. Maintenance staff confirmed they were aware of these defects prior to our arrival, yet the rooms were still marketed. The main resolution offered was to use the public fireplace. Chromecast and AC were both very finicky as well, not what you expect from a luxury resort. Noise issues: Mgmt seems to endorse rowdy parties at their restaurants vs maintaining a serene setting. And room walls are thin so if you have the misfortune of being by a wild child, good luck sleeping. There are some nice perks and amenities (grounds are great, some free gym classes (not all), the turn down service (appreciate the proactively cords wrapping). Mgmt tried to an extent to help make things right, but were focused more on their economics vs customer experience. Cool to see a raccoon prowling the outdoor fireplace area at night though.

The Good: *Located right off the freeway (101) *Easy check-in *One of the best smelling hotels I can recall *Complimentary breakfast daily (0600-0930) was fantastic! Try the Chilaquiles! *TV is huge w/ full compliment of channels. No built-in streaming apps, tho. *Pillows were fantastic and the mattresses wasn't half-bad. *Shower got nice and hot and lots of water pressure. *Microwave, fridge, & Keurig-style coffee machine in each room *Pool & hot tub *±10min walk to the beach and pier *Maybe one of the largest hotel bathrooms I've ever been in--and it actually has a fan! The Meh: *Right near the train trestle and yes it's loud. Fortunately, I don't recall this happening during the night, but I am a pretty sound sleeper. *If you value quiet, then make sure they don't put you on the first floor. *Carpet in the rooms The Ugly: *Wifi is complete dogshit; I couldn't even get it to connect to my phone, so I couldn't tell you if it was fast or slow. Conclusion: If you don't mind a little noise from the nearby freeway and train, then this is a great place to stay.

Official Brooke In The Air Travel Review - Amanzi Hotel, Ventura, California…read more Rating: 3.5/10.0 Room: king room, king bed, first floor Price: $404/2 nights Location: heart of historic downtown Ventura, California (just off I-101) This is a newer hotel, and Choice Hotels' first entry into the Premium Vacation/Destination-centered hotels tier; as mentioned, this is an Ascend collection hotel by Choice Hotels and their inaugural entry into the Premium hotel category. It should be noted that this is a highly-regarded hotel, according to Google. For a vacation spot I honestly expected much better for an entry hoping to compete in the "boutique" quality category for hospitality. The hotel seemed to look quite nice from the photos but that mistake is squarely on me. The actual room was a wreck; the water had no pressure, the bathroom ceiling had obvious water damage, the shower curtain was falling off, the shower rod was completely off the wall, the walls of the room had small random holes in them. The HVAC system appeared ancient but did at least work though the WiFi blinked on and off and lost connection halfway through our stay. The staff were also generally inattentive; when we arrived on Friday night, the agent had her feet propped up and she was playing on her phone. The breakfast was nice (and free with vouchers) though basic, featuring a make-your-own waffle bar, and the staff were kind. Those are the only nice things I can say. In addition, the wall-mounted TV (in the entertainment center) worked, the bed was comfy and the fridge was efficient and kept things ice-cold, so that's a few other overall net-positive aspects. But it wasn't enough to save a failing score. The room smelled rotten and further, smelled of active decay and while housekeeping was prompt and efficient, the room still felt unclean and was stained. The management left no response to the review submitted on TripAdvisor, or Yelp, or any other dedicated travel site, telling much of their care for customer service.

They have a garage that opens around 8 or 9 AM (they don't open it too early because the garage door is loud for guests) and has free stuff for you to use including beach cruiser bikes, beach lounge chairs, towels, beach toys, umbrellas, and more. The lobby has snacks (granola bars, bananas, orange, etc) that were accessible during their hours (they close at 9) as well as a water machine from which you can fill your aluminum water bottles from your hotel room. I liked how they didn't use plastic trash bags, no plastic bottles, and no plastic soap containers. It seemed that they were really eco-friendly. We interacted with 3 hotel staff members and all were helpful and friendly. They gave us a list of kid-centric things to do. We stayed in unit 8 which had a queen bed and a living room as well as a kitchenette. The kitchen had everything we needed and the tools were clean, new and orderly. The unit was clean as well. The palm trees in the middle of the parking lot are nicely lit at nice. The water pressure in the bathroom was super strong. I liked that the bathroom had a window as well as the kitchen. Some rooms have a small patio door in the back. From our kitchen window we could see plants and flowers. Outside of our room there were cute tables with lots of flowers as well. It's a great location and walking distance to the beach. The bad: We accidentally went a few blocks down from here to Harbor View Inn first and then realized our mistake. Two different hotels! The bathroom is on the small side. The interesting: The parking lot is small so they don't allow big trucks/vans. If you check-out before 7:30 am (like we did) then you will leave your keys in the mailbox out front by their office.
