    Begbug bite

Stayed 2 nights, came back with bedbug bites. Called to notify them and they asked me to "call back in the morning and speak to a manager". When I explained that bedbugs are an immediate concern and that they needed to get on this NOW, the person on the line hung up on me. Stay away!

He came up to Ohio last minute and found a wonderful place that is pet friendly and would highly recommend this location and if you have a pet, I would suggest getting a larger place with a patio and yard such as the Casita del Sol room. The pool is a bit small and can get crowded if you go at the wrong time, but it is a charming place and the staff is very friendly at night. The place takes on a magic of its own. It's enchanting and quiet and romantic keep in mind that this is not near, the downtown Ojai area so you will need to drive a few minutes to frequent the restaurants and shops.

A must visit destination ever since it came on my radar ages ago. The whimsical titular sculpture caught my heart and finally made it out there. It's just two miles south of Ojai and across the street from the Ojai Valley Trail. Arrived on a Thursday afternoon after 4 pm so able to check in immediately. It's just two miles south of Ojai and across the street from the Ojai Valley Trail . Cute front desk lobby had it all. We reserved a deluxe king room that had a small semi-secluded patio set for our use but time got away from us and it was too chilly to use til check out day. The room was so cute with rustic whimsical touches throughout. A DVD player(DVDs available at front office). Very clean and well-appointed with a fridge, microwave, kitchenette setup to prep coffee(Gaviña-for the snobs), hot tea and cocoa. Additional sweet treats and drinks are available to enjoy for a fee. If you want housekeeping, it's available if you inform front desk by 11 am. Two robes were available to use which we did to make use of the jacuzzi (tile work surrounding it is beautiful). We could hear kids on the property but the environment was tranquil for all to enjoy(the sister property, Emerald Iguana, is 14+ I believe). The property is beautiful, serene, lush... everything I could ask for.

O quintessential Ojai California! Offered everything great service, location, price, and really beautiful accommodations. Want to come back sooner than later and don't forget to locate the upper deck area which has an entire.

This hotel ROCKED!! We absolutely loved it and will be back without a doubt! We were in total heaven from the moment we pulled in to the moment we very reluctantly left! Could've happily stayed a week lol! We took a little impromptu overnight hiking trip up to Ojai last week and scored a great deal for our night here! We got the two bedroom bungalow- it was fantastic!! It's MASSIVE!! It has a large living room with a gas fireplace and a gorgeous, cozy, fenced in, private patio right off it - it was perfect!! It had a huge kitchen with everything you need to cook anything pretty much and even had a dining table seating area!! So huge! The two bedrooms are found right off the living room. They both join onto the full bathroom and one of them has its own half bath (it only has a sink and toilet - so you'll be sharing the tub/shower - not at all an issue for us). The bedrooms both have their own doors closing off the bathroom for privacy. The sides of the bathtub were quite high - so be aware if you have any issues getting in and out - felt like I was climbing a mountain haha! But it was absolutely spotless and had great water pressure - and excellent quality toiletries! One bedroom had a king bed and one a queen. I believe the couch folds out to a bed as well if you should need it. We got a great last minute deal with a discount code on CheapTickets - literally booked it around 12-1230pm and were settled in by dinner time!! Staff were super nice! Check in was a smooth process - no issues at all - even though I realized I had left my purse at home!! So I had no ID or anything lol! But they accepted my confirmation email and I had already prepaid. Parking is gravel lots all around the grounds with plenty of spaces. And the grounds - wow!! Gorgeous huge grassy park-like areas with fire pits, strings of soft lights, and cozy seating. They even rent bikes!! Which is awesome Bc it's located right next to the Ojai to Ventura bike trail! Not to mention all the amazing hiking in the area! And their pool - WOOOOWWWW!! I can't wait to come back and hang out there - it's a sublime area! Huge hot tub up on its own little platform overlooking the well kept pool and grounds - and full of fun art pieces! Incredible ambiance! Total relaxation and joy! It's currently by reservation due to Covid so be aware and plan ahead. They also have DVDs to check out if you want to have a movie night!! The location is perfect too - within short/easy driving distance to Ojai shops and attractions and all the hiking trails - but far enough away to be quiet and calming. Be sure to pay attention though Bc the entrance is sooo unassuming that it will sneak up on you!

We love this place, the staff is always amazing and on point. The WiFi is good and the greenery is nice , my wife and I have stayed here twice and are planning on returning on Thanksgiving .. the beds are pretty comfortable also... Thank you Staff

We rented the King Patio suite for 3 people and the experience was relatively nice. The environment and surroundings are beautiful and we had a pretty good experience. We stayed in the suite for one night and it included a full kitchen with everything from pots to pans to utensils and cups included. They also have a microwave and stoves. The kitchen was great and very convenient. The suite had a king sized bed which was nice but a little small for 3. The bathroom is clean and has a bathtub/shower, a sink, and includes some basic toiletries like soap, moisturizer, conditioner, shampoo and makeup wipes. The only complaint I have is the TV, which was kind of small, and doesn't have any Netflix or channels like that, only TV channels. Furthermore, when we tried to play a movie that we rented from the front office (they have a huge selection to choose from for free!!) the remote didn't work. The TV is also kind of small but there are two, one in the bedroom and one near the couch. The patio was great and they have candles to light. It was a little cold when we went so it was too chilly to sit outside for a long time. However, the seating and surroundings, as well as the greenery, really complete the vibe of this inn. Overall, an amazing experience.

Really unique and beautiful hotel and property, with variety of rooms and cottages available. We were just in town for a quick 1-night stay, so just opted for one of the simpler, 2-Queen rooms (#9), but was still very nice with pretty tiled floors and bathroom, original artwork, comfy beds, and good air conditioning. The property is beautifully landscaped with mature trees and lots of flowers and decorative tile sculptures. The pool and jacuzzi area is very inviting, with comfy lounge chairs, little tile side tables, and grass and flowers. It does have a bit of traffic noise, since the main road runs right behind it, but did t notice the traffic noise from our room. Lovely stay. Might try their sister property, the Emerald Iguana, next time.

We came on a Saturday early afternoon and started at one of their restaurants. The food was amazing, but service was definitely on the slower side. The resort is huge and has so many activities tennis, golf, bike rentals and more. After that, we headed over to the spa and spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. The vibe was so calm, mostly women just chatting, unwinding, and enjoying each other in this peaceful little paradise. We ordered smoothies poolside and omg...so fresh and refreshing. Service at the spa pool was great, everyone seemed to be working together seamlessly and checking in often without being overbearing. Definitely one of those spots I'd come back to anytime I need a reset from LA.

For many years, Ojai Valley Inn was one of my favorite destinations. I have stayed at the resort…read moreseven or eight times and always considered it a special place to celebrate important occasions. Unfortunately, after my recent experience, I do not plan to return. For Father's Day weekend, I booked what I hoped would be a memorable getaway for my husband and me. I prepaid $5,364.45 for a two-night stay in a Deluxe King with a View Room. In addition, I made dinner reservations at the resort's fine dining restaurant, scheduled a golf outing for two because my husband loves golf, and booked a couples massage. I was genuinely looking forward to a special and relaxing weekend. On June 5, I searched for Ojai Valley Inn on Google and called the phone number that appeared online. Unbeknownst to me, I was connected to a third-party reservation company called Hotel Reservations rather than the resort directly. I received a confirmation email that included Ojai Valley Inn's name, a confirmation number, an itinerary number, and proof of payment. After driving nearly three hours from Newport Beach to the resort, I was shocked to learn that Ojai Valley Inn could not locate my reservation. I presented all of my documentation and confirmation details, yet after nearly an hour of waiting, the issue remained unresolved. I contacted Hotel Reservations while standing at the front desk, and they confirmed that a reservation existed in their system. Unfortunately, the third-party company and the hotel were unable to reconcile the discrepancy. What disappointed me most was not the reservation issue itself, but the hotel's response. The front desk associate assisting us was kind, empathetic, mentioned they will have a room available for us, and appeared genuinely committed to finding a solution. However, when the front desk manager, Morgan Giuseponi, became involved, I felt that very little effort was made to accommodate us despite our circumstances. Given our longstanding history with the resort, our prepaid reservation, and the fact that we already had dining, golf, and spa reservations on property, I expected some attempt to help us remain at the resort. Instead, we were informed that the hotel was fully booked and were advised to seek accommodations elsewhere. Whether the issue originated with the third-party booking company or elsewhere, I had hoped Ojai Valley Inn would demonstrate the level of hospitality and problem-solving that luxury resorts are known for. Rather than allowing the situation to ruin Father's Day weekend, we chose to stay at Rosewood Miramar Beach instead. Fortunately, the experience there was exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and proactive. The contrast in customer care was impossible to ignore. Luxury hospitality is not measured by how a property performs when everything goes according to plan. It is measured by how it responds when something goes wrong. In this case, I left feeling that Ojai Valley Inn was unwilling to help a loyal, repeat guest during a difficult situation. This experience was deeply disappointing and has permanently changed my perception of a resort I once loved. While the reservation issue may not have been entirely the hotel's fault, the lack of effort to find a solution certainly was. For that reason, I will not be returning.

It is very clean and the renovations were clearly very intentional with design in mind. It is an incredibly cohesive property. The rooms themselves are comfortable and I loved that the temperature was very adjustable. The bathroom was a bit bizarre. I will never understand the appeal to the shower design. It's the kind of shower that is only separated from the rest of the bathroom by half of a glass wall. Which just means, no matter how careful you are, the entire bathroom will be soaked. In terms of property amenities, the ample free parking was a huge plus. And the complementary bikes seemed great, thought we didn't get a chance to take advantage of them. There is a nice large field in the back which would be a great place to stargaze at night. We did check out the hot tub on the last morning, and I was very disappointed that it was hardly warm. The rooms come with a unique selection of snacks for purchase, but I was shocked to see they were charging $4 for the packet of instant coffee next to the kettle. I'm glad I noticed they were charging for that, because I would've assumed it was free. No chance that's worth it. There was decent coffee available in the lobby for free. When looking at a map, it showed it was only a 10-15 minute walk into the main stretch of town, so we planned to walk daily. Unfortunately, there is just enough distance on the road between the hotel and the downtown where there is no sidewalk, to a point where we felt it would be unsafe to walk at night. So we had to drive 2 minutes down the road instead. If they were able to create a path with a street lamp or two, that would make a huge difference! The staff was incredibly nice and I was glad they were able to help out with anything we needed! I did find it a bit odd that the hotel is only staffed 8AM-10PM. Unfortunately, the grounds really, really need a landscaping overhaul. Similarly, the room interiors and window coverings seem tired. Their "European" breakfast seemed no better than a Holiday Inn Express. A lot of it is prepackaged stuff. The "assorted cheeses" are identical to the pre-sliced packaged stuff from Vons as is the bread and bagels. The only effort put into appears to be the hard-boiled eggs (unpeeled, of course). They could easily step it up several notches by sourcing pastries from locals, making oatmeal to serve, and getting a decent cheese and meat selection, but after the second disappointing day of the exact same thing we headed to town for breakfast. For us, the most off-putting thing was all the ridiculous signs everywhere! We counted 22 separate signs from driving in the entrance to opening the door to our room - four or five were helpful. And then there's all the signage IN your room (did you really need to label the ice bucket as "Ice Bucket"???). It seems like someone just went to town with a label maker and laminator. Maybe just us, but we felt it was tacky, unnecessary and detracting.
