What a beautiful place to stay! We absolutely loved our stay here. We stayed in the tree house room which was perfect for 2, one caveat was that this room had a shared bathroom. Everything was super clean and the rooms had all the amenities needed. We opted for one their specials and loved the flowers and champagne, such a great touch! The breakfast was asp perfect, they have a different sweet everyday day and the food when we were there consisted of hard boiled eggs, lemon loaf, banana bread and all the fixings!! Can't wait to come back and stay here again.

I've passed by The Lavender Inn whenever I stop by Ojai for the day and bookmarked it as a possible place to stay if I ever decided to overnight. Well, I saw they had a package deal and I called to ask for it, that's a good enough reason. Unfortunately, that deal had already been taken up but I was given a discount code for a later time. By that time I had a dog and while they are dog friendly, the cottage was already and they only have one room in the house that allows pets. Fortunately, that was available so I pulled the trigger on it. First the location is great, it's right in the middle of downtown and they let you park there before check-in and after check out so you can walk around comfortably. They don't just allow pets, but they're pet friendly. What's the difference? Well they provided a water bowl, treats as well as some individually wrapped poop bags, a thoughtful and surprising touch. They also let my pup go around their yard space which is bigger than it seems with a couple of quiet nooks that seem to appear. I also used their onsite spa for a massage in their gazebo. The massage was great with focus placed on the problem areas I mentioned. Really the only minus was during my visit the breakfast was pretty limited, basically some pastries but that banana bread was terrific.

Beautiful inn! Small with only 6 rooms but wonderfully decorated with lots of common spaces! They have wines during the evenings and complimentary breakfast in the mornings! Will definitely return next time I'm in ojai!

I haven't checked out yet and I'm already writing this review because it has been such a positive experience. The grounds are gorgeous, the cottage is gorgeous. Ojai and The Lavender Inn are just lovely, peaceful places. I already can't wait to come back! Highly recommended.

Quaint, quiet, and comfortable here, and the location could not be a better one. The staff is welcoming and helpful, and what I would expect from a cottage bandb a setting for relaxation for sure

I just loved this place and want to go back. It's an old house that they made into a B&B. Not a ton of rooms. We checked a few out, they were all decorated so beautifully. And had great little balconies. The grounds are peaceful and so pretty, lots of places to sit and relax, read a book or have a drink. The location is perfectly situated, easy walk to everything. Free, convenient parking right in front. Super easy check in and out. We didn't get breakfast, which I think they served pre-covid? Great place to stay if you want an awesome getaway in Ojai. There are a lot of places to stay in Ojai, I'm so glad I found this one, overall great experience!

A+ on every level. As good as it gets if you're after a sweet, cozy, charming bed and breakfast. Seriously...I'm a brat when it comes to hotels and this place always meets and exceeds my expectations. Ojai is already a magical place and Lavender Inn is our go to for a weekend getaway from LA to recharge. We're always welcomed warmly, everything feels very clean and well cared for and the big beautiful backyard is so peaceful and inviting. We usually stay in the Topa room because it's dog friendly. It's small but so cute and has a balcony overlooking the main street in town. Our chiweenie runs around the inn and yard freely and made friends with the resident pup, June Carter Cash. The wine and cheese hour is such a nice touch in the evenings and breakfast in the morning is always fantastic. You're also literally right in town so can step outside the front door and find nice restaurants and lovely little shops. Don't blow it and stay somewhere else that's a little bit cheaper! This place is totally worth it.

Breakfast served from 9-10, with half of the items running out before 9:30.

We mentioned it to the waiter and he said it's the chef's jam so to speak. The food was certainly adventuresome. It just missed the mark too often. Either a bit too acidic or a bit off on a funny flavor profile, or in the case of the tuna really inedible as it was very tough. When all 4 ppl leave most of it, you'd think the server(s) would inquire but they just cleared the plates as if it were normal. I really hope the restaurant makes it and of course being a prefix menu we might just have been in on an off night. The plating was beautiful. The dishes were beautiful and unique. There was certainly thought put into it and the service was very nice and attentive. Wine pairing was nice and generous. If you do go here, it's worth adding it on as an option. Overall It just missed on too many flavor profiles that didn't quite go together. They do say the chef likes to combine all types of different cuisines and he certainly did that. I'm just don't know if they blended well. I probably would give it a 3 1/2 if that were possible.

The vibe was so calm, mostly women just chatting, unwinding, and enjoying each other in this peaceful little paradise. We ordered smoothies poolside and omg...so fresh and refreshing. Service at the spa pool was great, everyone seemed to be working together seamlessly and checking in often without being overbearing. Non-Functional Fireplaces: Despite booking rooms specifically for their private fireplaces, neither unit was operational. Maintenance staff confirmed they were aware of these defects prior to our arrival, yet the rooms were still marketed. The main resolution offered was to use the public fireplace. Chromecast and AC were both very finicky as well, not what you expect from a luxury resort. Noise issues: Mgmt seems to endorse rowdy parties at their restaurants vs maintaining a serene setting. And room walls are thin so if you have the misfortune of being by a wild child, good luck sleeping. There are some nice perks and amenities (grounds are great, some free gym classes (not all), the turn down service (appreciate the proactively cords wrapping). Mgmt tried to an extent to help make things right, but were focused more on their economics vs customer experience. Cool to see a raccoon prowling the outdoor fireplace area at night though.

Customer service was still great, but I noticed a few changes that took away from the experience for us personally. I do like that the tastings are no longer in the plastic tubes, although the tubes did feel like they held a little more wine. What we didn't enjoy was that when multiple people ordered the same tastings, they were placed into the same shared glass/container. In our party of four, three of us had the same six tastings and had to share. I appreciated the bow on the glass showing the pours, but I preferred the previous setup where everyone had their own individual tastings. It may seem small, and thankfully our group was fine sharing, but it made the experience feel less personal and honestly made us less interested in doing tastings again on future visits. Some people also may not feel comfortable sharing containers or touching the same glass. Nothing terrible at all, just some feedback from longtime visitors who loved how it used to be. On this visit we actually ended up ordering a bottle afterward instead, and moving forward we'll probably just continue doing that rather than the tastings.

To begin this place is very charming my husband arrived first then I came shortly after. The first evening I noticed I woke up with itching but didn't think much of it. After the next morning we woke up to major yard work cutting of the palm trees and a whole lot of noise without notice just a knock on the door that if our car was parked near by we need to move it. The final day I woke up to being bit by a bed bug I jumped out of bed and noticed I had one crawling on my night gown and panicked I went thru all of our luggage and woke him up to get up and on the bed we seen another 2 crawling on the bed. I was dumbfounded trying to figure out what it was since the office doesn't open until I don't know because I had to leave for work at 7am and Noone was there so I let my husband take care of the situation. By this time we still didn't know what those were. Once my husband decided to check out he said he went to the office and spoke to an office manager/owner and he showed her the bugs and her response was she had no idea what they were with surprise on her face so my husband being as kind as he is believed it. Now we come here and see this is not the first time this cause for concern of bed bugs is brought to their attention and it's clear there isn't anything being done about it.
