Treat yourself to a wonderful Bed and Breakfast experience. Jeff and Sandra are the epitome of gracious hosts. The rooms are cozy; breakfasts are spectacular; the grounds are peaceful and relaxing.

My wife surprised me with a stay at the Hummingbird Inn for my birthday this week and it was such a delight! It was exactly what the Dr ordered, so relaxing and a great opportunity to unplug and enjoy one another! We stayed in the Serenity Cabin just next door to the main house and it was simply beautiful! Sandra was so welcoming and each morning she made breakfast and it was delicious!! She gave us great recommendations on things to see, what beautiful scenic roads to drive down and great restaurants to try out! We left wishing we had stayed longer! But we will be back and are already looking forward to it!

Simply awesome. A perfect getaway. Peace and quiet. Very clean and well organized. The owners pay attention to every little detail and sincerely do whatever they can to help you enjoy your stay. Hummingbirds are all over the wrap around porch. You can sit in the shade and watch hundreds of them come and go on the many feeders. We never expected to be able to see so many and get so close. Simply awesome!!!

A nice place to enjoy a morning coffee

Ripped off. Will never do business here again or send any of our friends from Camp Mount Shenandoah.

We were also told the owner/event manager would be on hand for help the day of. She seemed to forget who I was after meeting with me multiple times, but no biggie. I'm sure she meets lots of people. What was really not okay was that when we showed up to set up our event, the area was NOT cleaned and there was nobody to be found. There was dust and dirt everywhere that took an hour to clean before even being able to set up, a gross dead bug graveyard in the sitting area floor, it smelled musty, and overall was just not up to the standard they advertised. The owner nor any staff showed up at any point. We were not greeted, we were not helped, and it was just kind of a "okay good luck" situation. Also, the "AC" was on 75 on a hot May day. After paying the second half of the $550 fee, I didn't hear from the event manager other than a text asking what time I'd be in. Afterwards, nobody checked on us or the space. Never even heard from them to get a "thank you for renting our space" or "I'm sorry I wasn't available today"... To pay $550, you'd expect to get what you pay for. As a local, I will NOT be renting there for any other party I host nor trying out their B&B if the service is anything like this experience has been. Next time, we'll pay $550 for a nicer place on 151.

It's not often that the place you're staying can become the destination in itself. A marathon…read morebrought me out to the area, and I was looking for a place with a kitchen and where dogs were welcome. I'm so glad I ended up staying at Fox Hill b&b, even though there were hotels closer to my race. Charlie and Julie acquired the place during the pandemic, and they're seriously killing it. Grounds. Absolutely gorgeous. The b&b is on a large stretch of land and there's plenty of small mown grass paths to explore and walk around. Mountains around, and of course close by to some legit hiking trails which I hope to hit in the future. Rooms. All I can say is that the pictures don't quite do them justice. Yes, they're quaint. I think I was expecting the rooms to "feel" older, but there were so many cute details, and everything looked new and very well kept. The bed and couch (where I may have watched like 2 hours of qvc) were comfy. They have a few rooms, two with kitchens. We got a kitchen room, and my parents got a non-kitchen room. Both with beautiful views of the grounds. The kitchen was well equipped, literally with everything that I needed (pots, saucepans, strainers, cutlery, bunch of different sized bowls/plates/mugs, etc.). There were also a lot of nice little touches, like drinks in the refrigerator that were gulped down immediately after the race or paw wipes for the dog. FOOD. This is the biggie. I've never ever ever have been to a more welcoming b&b. When I booked the room, about half a year in advance, Julie asked about dietary restrictions. I told her that we were vegan, and she asked me what type of milk I liked to drink (oat) and what I thought about vegan muffins/how I made them. I didn't think much about it because I figured she'd forget and we'd do what we always do - bring our milk, bring our food, just eat out of a can (sigh/lol). When we got there, they had bought oat milk, just egg, and had a recipe for vegan muffins for our breakfast. Breakfast was topnotch. A scramble of just egg with lots of veggies, vegan breakfast sausage, potatoes, delicious blueberry muffins, cup of fruit, and coffee with oat milk. Maybe redundant, but Charlie and Julie were also just good people. And there's some self selection it seems, because all other guests were friendly as well. Some other notes: - Dogs allowed in rooms, grounds, but not in main building (where the kitchen is). - There is an outdoor eating area if you're still uncomfortable eating inside (like my mom is). They had large heaters for the outdoor tables. - Check in between 4 - 7 p.m. They like to know when you get there because they set things up for your stay and like to welcome you in.
