Quick and tasty Mediterranean food at great prices. Stopped in and built myself a wonderful creation with chicken gyro meat on whole wheat flatbread, with a side of rice and some extra pita bread. Thhey took the time to explain the different protein and ingredient options and in the end I was more than satisfied! The regular hummus is a bit lacking, however. I was very excited to go here after seeing the great online presence on instagram and Facebook. I probably won't go back. The service was quite slow and not very nice. The food was ok. The rice in the rice bowl was cold, the steak was cold, but the portion was fine to me. I would much rather go to Voulapita in centereach which is more expensive but the portions are huge. I enjoy the healthy concept, but I think the person assisting us behind the counter definitely could have been more helpful and just all around nicer. read more

The food here was AMAZING! My friend and I came here for a post workout meal and to say that I was heartily satisfied would be an understatement.. we both got a salad with chicken and loads of other toppings. Kind of like a subway/chipotle ordering deal, which I personally enjoy because you can get a personally catered meal. Each of our salads came with a cup of hummus (about two tablespoons) and pita. The portions were so large it was difficult to finish the whole thing, especially for a good price! In terms of atmosphere, had a fast food vibe like subway or chipotle. My friend and I sat outside since seating was relatively limited inside. The workers were a bit hard to understand at times but all worked out well in the end. This place is pretty good! I love that its a "build your own" type of eatery. It's has chipotle's style of letting you make variations of what you want with great ingredients. They also have a make you own hummus section where you choose what flavors you would like to go into your hummus. I got the gyro chicken salad bowl with all the veggies they offer and it was great!. Very good! A ton of food for the price! Under $10 for the rice bowl. Pick a rice, protein, 3 toppings, sauce (I recommend the garlic sauce) and it even comes with a side of hummus with topping of your choice. Would have gave it 5 stars, but I asked for pita bread and the guy ringing me up forgot to put it in the bag...not the first time something was missing from order. Wow! Amazing fresh food , great taste , and super filling (without the guilt). Everything is healthy in the selections to be made ! It's hard on longisland to find somewhere there is something fresh and healthy AND FAST! The service was superior as far as a greet and an explanation through the whole ordering process! This was the worst "gyro" I have ever had. The option to build your own gyro seemed great but when my order arrived it didn't have the right meat in mine or my husbands gyros nor did it have all the ingredients we added. We also paid for extra sauces which weren't included and there was no dressings on either salad. The hummus tasted like old feet and they didn't include the pita for it. Very inconsistent. The food is either fresh and great or I end up not wanting to eat an old dried up falafel platter and throw it away. Hit or miss with the staff too, they're either super friendly or they treat you like an inconvenience. Pita is supposed to be included but they wont give it to you unless you make a point to ask for it. There aren't so many healthy "fast food" options in my neighborhood. Up until recently, Chipotle was pretty much it. Hummus seemed like a promising addition, and it didn't disappoint. Lots of options, and everything we ordered was tasty. I had a whole wheat pita sandwich with chicken kebab, feta, babaganoush and pickled veggies. It was yummy. My only complaint about the food was that the whole wheat pita that my sandwich was made from started to fall apart pretty much as soon as I took a bite. It didn't stop me from eating it, it was just inconvenient. Also, I thought it was weird that you get a side of hummus with your meal, but I had to order the pita chips to eat it with separately. Was I just supposed to eat the hummus with a spoon? That left me scratching my head. Whatever. It was tasty and fast, and it wasn't totally unhealthy or expensive. I'll definitely go back. read more

Great place to get food! When I finally decided to go there and get food, I couldn't believe it took me so long to check it out. Their falafel is gluten free, and their build-your-own-bowl system is awesome. Plus, I get enough food for at least 2 meals for around $10, and it's probably the highest quality health-wise compared to any other food places around. Well I finally did and I just had the most amazing Greek salad with grilled chicken ever. I found the gentleman who served me to be completely welcoming and generous with the portion size. Hummus Mediterranean is hands down the best occupant of this location since the building went up. I truly believe these owners are here to stay; if they do not, I will be extremely surprised for a few reasons: 1) The quality of their food is very high. I would know this because I currently work at another well-known Greek restaurant. 2) Their menu/ordering style emulates chipotle and it works! It's actually fairly genius in my opinion. 3) Portion sizes register one step behind HUGE. You get plenty of food. 4) They serve a great variety of different options to choose from. 5) The price is well worth it. In my opinion, their price point is spot on. My experience with hummus Mediterranean has clearly been exceptional. Both times I've ordered from them I went with their rice bowls and my girlfriend had a salad bowl. Their protein is very fresh and tender. I have had the chicken gyro and steak kebab both times which were excellent. Their toppings are delicious, also. Stuffed zucchini is a must. In addition, the pasta with feta and mozzarella is really good too. If I was to be critical of their menu in any way, their hummus and spinach pie could be a little better. My girlfriend an I tried this place for the first time yesterday for dinner and we were both very impressed. The portions sizes were great and the food quality was as well. I tried the lamb and I'm so glad I did because it was juicy and full of flavor. They offer a lot of toppings to go with your choice of protein as well as your own custom hummus. Stop driving by this place! At least that's what I'm telling myself. After doing just that countless times, I finally went in and I was not disappointed. I ordered the falafel over rice with spiced eggplant salad, onions and cuke/tomato salad. Everything was fresh and bright. The falafel is spot on and the humus is yummy. Hummus is pretty unique. It's kind of like Chipotle with Mediterranean food. You pick your meat, toppings, and finish it off with hummus. They also have prepared fit meals which you can pick up in a pinch or if you want to meal prep without the headache. My only complaints are parking is a nightmare and they haven't fixed their door since I moved to Holbrook. But I'm nitpicking here. It's a great place and the food is delicious. Wife and I ordered the wraps with chicken kebab. Chicken was OK, but overall, not very flavorful. Bland is the word of the day. Dark meat for kebab, meh. The worst part though was the restaurants namesake. The hummus was sooooo bland. No flavor whatsoever. I sprang for the extra pita, which tasted like cardboard. Overall, I'm giving it two stars because it was edible and fairly inexpensive, but I can have a much better experience making my own hummus and kebabs.
