I was hesitant in writing this review because he tried so hard to do my hair but as a curly haired girl I have every right to be upset. I went here to give myself a nice self care treat for my upcoming birthday - thinking that I will be going to a great salon that a hair stylist would know how to manage my hair. Wrong. Absolutely wrong. I was appointed the salon owner, the founder and manager of the store. I even called to ask the receptionist "does your stylist know how to cut curly hair?" She said "of course" Why did my hair look better before I entered the salon? The owner of the store said: 1. I am sure your mom wouldn't have minded doing your hair (? Way to lose business) 2. How do you usually do your hair? Can you show me how you hold the brush?! (What?) arent you the manager of the store? 3.The last part which shocked me, before leaving he said: "if your hair is SPLOTCHY from the hair dye let me know and I'll fix it" I thought I was coming to a quality hair salon to get my roots touched up and the founder of the store is telling me if it's SPLOTCHY? To come back? 4. He pulled on my hair and "boinged it" like he's never touched curly hair before Why did I pay for this experience? I feel humiliated and now I'm going to a different salon to get hopefully a better experience and to someone that knows how to deal with curly hair Please Invest in learning how to do curly hair. Cannot say enough good about this extraordinary salon. We had an unusual need to find services remote for a specific week... The communication from the front desk to the manager to the actual stylist was seamless. That actually meant a lot as it saved us a lot of time and energy. And once we actually were lucky enough to be partnered with the specific stylist, Savanah, things truly became top-shelf. This stylist is not only exceptionally seasoned and experienced - she specializes in everything from color correction, too detailed color and highlights, to precision cuts, two gorgeous up juice and blowouts and prior to Humphrey's was handling event styling for THE FOUR SEASONS (!) - but she is warm and supportive as you could possibly hope for leading into a big event. Not that this is at all required from a top stylist, but her warmth and understanding of our specific needs were both such a plus on top of her vast experience and talent at the chair. She has a fantastic Instagram so you can see how extraordinary her work is... and again her professionalism and warmth has just made the entire interaction leading up to our event such a pleasure. Norma hands-down is one of the best colorist in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex and you can find her only at Humphrey's salon. Not only is the staff great and atmosphere inviting. Norma takes extreme care of her clients and makes sure to listen to your needs and offers suggestions when needed. She's one of the best people I know with color and getting you from one end of the spectrum to the next. Color corrections and extensions are her specialty. I highly recommend! read more

I came to visit Mark White at Humphrey's Salon because my mother talks so highly of him, and his amazing work. Mark has been my mom's hair stylist since she was 19 so it seemed only fitting to have him do my hair. As my hair color is naturally brown I wanted to make a change and asked Mark if it was possible to make my ends lighter. I still wanted to maintain a semi-natural look. After moving to Dallas I needed to find a new hair stylists for cuts and color. I get my hair bleached blonde a few times a year and struggle to find someone I trust not to fry my hair and still make it look good. Taylor was the one to color my hair and do my cut, and she did a great job. I had gone six months since my last cut and color so it was a bit of a mess but she had a plan to get it back where I want it. She was really nice and able to keep the conversation going even though I'm a pretty quiet introvert. The salon was clean and everyone was friendly. The prices were fair. Below is my wife's review, which was filtered by Yelp for some unknown reason (maybe she didn't have enough reviews), so I will pass her review on: "My hairstylist, Valerie, is awesome and always does a great job with my hair. The location is nice and the atmosphere is professional yet casual. When my sister visited a few months ago, I was able to get her an appointment quickly and she got a great cut. I have been in irving for 3 years now and haven't found such a talented hair professional in dfw and believe me I've been to many! I went to another salon for balayage just last week they totally messed up my hair and over charged me. Thank god I found jason through these amazing reviews on yelp I wish I had searched on yelp before going and didn't take my friends advice. He was very helpful. He understood what I wanted, he's like a hair wizard. He gave my hair a stunning fabulous makeover also threw in a haircut to give my hair movement and gave me a discount because he knew I had been ripped off last week! I have been going to Humphrey's Salon now for 3 years and I have loved my hair every time afterwards. I found it after asking a friend who always had gorgeous hair where she went, and she recommended Humphrey's. Jay is an incredible stylist and is incredible at cutting hair. I've also had blonde highlights done here (also by him) and got so many compliments afterward. Even though I no longer live in Irving, it is totally worth it to drive out because I know my hair will look incredible afterwards. I highly recommend stylist Amy Velasquez! I've been here twice, my hair is fine in texture, prone to frizz. I have been to a lot of stylists, I've moved a lot for work. Amy is incredibly talented, she even mentioned I should use the cool shot setting pointed downward, to help fight frizz and make the hair lay down better. Why has that never crossed my mind? The layers she put in my hair makes it easy to style, whether I'm wearing it curly (humidity factor), wavy or straight. I will be back! read more

Not happy at all. Saw David for a cut. Showed him a photo that he glanced at and claimed my hair was 'hard to blend' and chopped it WAY shorter than I asked for. Never again. It's so blunt on the bottom and I don't even want it fixed because then it will end up even shorter. Picture of what I ask for versus what I got. It doesn't fit in a pony tail without pieces falling out all over. It barely goes past my shoulders and will take forever to grow back. read more

I went to Hair by Jason Wiggans in Humphries Salon and I am so glad that I did. I have received so many compliments on my hair, since I left the salon! Prior to seeing Jason, I made several errors. I went to a beauty shop to get a permanent. The perm was absolutely awful and burned my hair. My hair felt like sandpaper. Therefore, I went to another salon to get the dead ends cut off. The haircut was pretty bad. It did not blend in together and I am not kid when I tell you that when my daughter saw my hair, she tried to be nice about it but couldn't help herself and busted out laughing. I knew I needed to do something different, and waiting until it grew out was not a good option. I called Jason, and he fit me in his schedule and I am amazed at what he was able to do with my hair. It looks beautiful! I am sorry I don't have before and after pictures for you, but I avoided taking pictures when my hair looked ridiculous. If you see Jason, you will not be disappointed. read more

Made an appointment on Wednesday to see someone on Thursday. Quick turnaround on appointments. Originally they scheduled me for Heather but she had the flu so thankfully Valerie had availability. I am now so happy that they gave me Valerie after the haircut and blowdry! I have curly/kinky hair and it is long. I asked her to cut a few inches off and give me a long layers and that's exactly what she did. Her finishing skills were on point as well. She knew exactly what she was doing.
