I've lived in Westfield for over 50 years and this place never disappoints. However, this business was sold to a new group of owners and has gone downhill ever since. These aren't even the same cooks. The white rice had water at the bottom and was sticky. The main entry was smaller than usual, less meat and seafood and the sauce was watery and lacked taste, even the egg rolls were different, smaller and nothing special. I'm sure they can't screw everything up, but based on my order I will not go back which is unfortunate because they used to serve such delicious things. They currently have a 2.9 rating. That's because the food is prepared differently, they buy different ingredients and they're below par Chinese cooks. I would go elsewhere. read more

I've ordered delivery for years and the last two times they went to the right street address in the wrong town. The restaurant after four phone calls finally sends the cold food without discounting or refunding the prepaid food. They didn't even remake the food, just sent the Luke warm , chewy, greasy food. Unfortunately, I can no longer order from there again. They know nothing about customer service. I had to give a star in order to post the review. I'll have to find another place. Poor Management and Indifference to Losing Weekly Business I never write reviews, but this time I feel compelled to express my frustration. I have been ordering from this place occasionally from home and at least once or twice for our management over the last four years. For the past couple of months, they have consistently failed to include crispy noodles with our order. Today, we ordered again and specifically mentioned the ongoing issue with missing noodles. They assured us that we would receive them this time. However, once again, our order arrived without the noodles for the soup. As the owner of my company, I decided to call them. The lady on the phone checked the order and confirmed that it included a note about the noodles. You would think she would offer to have the delivery guy bring them on his next trip, but she didn't seem concerned at all. When I mentioned that I would take my business elsewhere, she rudely hung up on me. After enjoying their food for so many years, I will never order from this place again. I walked in to order my food. I live 2 towns away but this was my favorite and I was on my way home. I paid and proceeded home with my order. It was not what I ordered only to be hungry and extremely disappointed. I called and was told to bring it in. Long story short I drove back to Westfield and was not greeted with an apology for the inconvenience, a discount or credit for future orders, so I asked for my money back. The money was returned and an exchange in another language took place between two women and I politely redirected the conversation and expressed my disappointment in the lack of professionalism. Let me start with that this is not a review of their food. We have ordered from them many times. It's about their customer service. My daughter placed an order for delivery. When we received the order, a meal was missing. My daughter calls them to let them know we were missing an order. They apologized and stated they would have the meal delivered. No problem. Then my daughter gets a call back from the restaurant. The person calling stated that they will not be delivering the meal because they are certain it was placed in the bag. My daughter had the call on speaker and I told them that I am certain the meal was not in the bag. They asked me if I wanted to speak to a manager. I said yes. Spoke to a J. Carpio. He explained that they are certain that the meal was put in the bag. He said it was seen on camera. I said I will come down to see the camera myself and prove that the meal was not put in the bag. The manager agreed for me to come down. I go down to the restaurant and spoke to two ladies behind the counter. Again they said they will not be giving me the meal. I asked to speak to the manager. No manager on site. So they said. They eventually gave me the meal so I can leave, but I still wanted to speak to the manager who told me about the camera. It turned out there was no camera. The manager lied. I leave the restaurant. I later discovered that the manager was at the restaurant and never came out to the front. I get a call from another manager, Jao Gonzalez. He confirms there was no camera. That there was a misunderstanding. Not only that there was no camera, he was in the back when I stopped by the restaurant when I was there. I told him I want an apology from J. Carpio for alleging that my daughter was lying about a missing meal and lying about cameras in the restaurant. After that conversation, I get a third call from another manager, Angelo Sanchez. He informs me he heard of the incident and wanted to apologize. He offered to give me credit for a future order which I declined. I stated I wanted a face to face apology. He said that he would call me when he was at the restaurant. I never received that call. All three managers were asked for their names. All this for a $13 meal. They just lost my family as a customer. read more

The quality of the food here has dropped. The place is always busy, and the service is quick and reliable, but the food is not as good as it used to be. The fried rice is awful--mealy and bland. Even the wonton soup is watery and flat, and their's used to be the best around. Other dishes are cooked decently, but lack seasoning and flavor. I think they are becoming complacent with their success and less caring about the quality of their food, because they used to offer discount coupons on their takeout menus, and they have now eliminated that. Here's why: I usually order delivery and find everything lives up to my expectations about American style Chinese Food with one exception: it is never greasy, never overcooked, never over salted and always very, very tasty There is nothing unexpected, yet, the preparation is consistently perfect and the orders I have delivered, usually on the phone, are always complete and never overpriced. Talk about convenience and the service is very fast: I'm scarcely off the phone a short while and their delivery man is at the door. Our go to down the street Chinese. They delivery *very* quickly and are always able to accommodate my order. I always get the same thing: BROCCOLI & BABY CORN WITH WHITE RICE COMBO.. they always let me have it.. I also really like the curry chicken, just the right amount of spicy. My boyfriend loves the fried dumplings. He always asks them to make them extra crispy aka "well done" and they always do. The food is always tasty. I'm not coming back here anymore. During my last visit I requested extra green onions in my hot and sour soup. They charged me an extra $1. I am no cheap skate by any means but the soup only costs $4-5 to begin with and the kicker is they FORGOT to put in the green onions! How they can charge 20-25% extra is beyond me. You can buy green onions at the market at 3 bunches for $1. And the soup isn't even that good ... On a positive note the general tso chicken is good. Too bad I refuse to come back here. read more

Generally, I'm a fan. Hit or miss on certain items. The hits - General Tso's chicken, lo mein, honey bbq pork (really really good) and chicken and broccoli with garlic sauce (also really really good). The misses - hot and sour soup, I know how could it be. I found it too thin with a weird taste. Had to dump soy sauce in it. The roast pork slices are too fatty and just blech. Shrimp items were meh. Stick to the mainstream stuff and all good. And please DON'T custom order your stuff - gimme a break. It's Chinese fast food people. Delivery was super fast and prices are fair. Our family's favorite take-out Chinese restaurant. It's a standard take-out place with a few chairs and tables in the store. Not really anyone sitting there eating though. The quality is better than other Chinese ones around the town. I like it because they go easy on salt. I am not sure if I could say that Chinese food is light but this one is lighter than others. ^^ Price is a little bit more expensive than others (by about 50 cents to a dollar) but well worth it. Try the lunch! For about 6-8 dollars, you get a lot of food with a soup. read more

Greasy, overly sweet "Szechuan" (not a Sicuan peppercorn in sight) shrimp that was an inedible throw-away, limp under cooked egg roll, dumplings that were more like frozen pierogi, and the depressing, yellow annatto-colored fried rice that seems to be ubiquitous. I do not recommend this place. I ordered the seafood delight which states on the menu that it comes with scallops ,shrimp and lobster. It said nothing about imitation crab meat .50% of the dinner was imitation crab meat that I do not eat. I called the owner and she said that she could give me a three dollar coupon.I paid $15.95 for a dinner that I did not eat. They wouldn't even pick it up and give me another dinner. Not sure what happened to Hunan Wok III but it has gone down the tubes! Soup was dishwater. Spare Ribs so tough it was impossible to eat. Egg Roll has a vile odor preventing even one bite. This used to be an excellent TAKE OUT staple in WESTFIELD...not so any longer. So very sad. One final note: we ordered 5 different dishes - each one was thrown out. so heres what happened, i was visiting westfield and chose to order chinese food from hunan wok for the first time this year, i called the store for a pick up and this guy who sounded like he wanted to go home asap took my order , i ordered general tso chicken combination with plain rice instead of fried rice, he then hung up the phone when i was done ordering over the phone without asking for my name or anything, interesting. when i went to pick up my order they werent sure what my order was and asked me for my number and i had to repeat my order and number back to them couple of times, after all the repeating back and forth i got my food and was on my way home, on my way back home i found out utensils were missing, and also instead of plain rice there was fried rice with nothing on it, so i went back to the store and told them the order was wrong and explained to them what happend and an employee here just told me i shouldve said plain rice instead of fried, so i told him thats exactly what i said over the phone and then he said something like " oh well then, you should say white rice instead next time, sorry!". i clearly said i didnt want fried rice over the phone, anyway so i ate general tao chicken with greasy fried yellow rice with nothing on it, no meat or veggies, tasted just like "white rice" except it was greasy. i regret paying 9 dollars here becauae , i really dont like fried rice, to me, its just unhealthy and doesnt even taste good and makes me feel kind of sick. anyway, these are the reasons why im giving this place two stars, i hate giving low ratings but i honestly think this is what they deserve after my experience. read more

This place has great Chinese food.I've had many dishes over the years here. I really enjoy the Chow fun, Chicken and broccoli,Lo Mein.The Spare ribs , Dumplings and Wonton are also top notch.The resturant is small (4 tables) but clean.I found this place near where I work and I used to race home (15 miles) so it would still be hot for my wife who is also a huge fan.I live closer now but still outside the delivery range. Anybody who enjoys Chinese takeout should try it.Parking in front is hard but there is a municipal pay lot right around the corner.I always call ahead and have never had to wait. read more

The staff here is amazing. They are very attentive and will do everything they can to make your order how you want it. The people who answer phones and take money all speak fluent English, so there are no language barriers. The food is delicious and the prices are great. There is never a long wait for delivery or takeout. I would recommend this place for anyone.The soy sauce used on the dish is not gluten free, but the packets are. BONUS! They can make fried dishes such as General Tso's chicken sauteed without the breading, so it can be Gluten Free and healthy. read more
