Let me just put this at the top of my review: if you normally order from China King, and wanted to try this place because China King is closed on tuesdays, and the reviews are good, DON'T. It will not live up to the hype. It is not even half as good, and I'm baffled at how this place has such good reviews. It makes me wonder just how bad the other places in this area must be! Let's start off with what was good: the wonton egg drop soup broth. Very eggy and rich. Having said that, they only put 4 wontons in it, whereas most places do 6. The crab rangoons are weird. They lacked a crisp crunch and had an overwhelming onion(?) flavor. They are the worst crab Rangoon I've ever had and I didn't even know that was possible. The egg rolls are tolerable. That's about it. The teriyaki beef was very tender, which was nice, but didn't actually have any teriyaki flavor at all. It was just oily and salty. The general tso's chicken and sesame chicken tasted basically the same. Just sweet. Neither were noteworthy in any way. Kinda soggy. Not horrible, just, I'm not sure why they even bother calling them two different things. The fried rice is supposed to be pork fried rice, but it had hardly any veggies or pork in it. I really hate when places charge a premium for their food and then cut obvious corners like that. It was very bland and only tolerable after adding some soy sauce- we usually never add soy sauce to fried rice. The bourbon chicken was ok but mostly just sweet. No bourbon flavor. China King maybe has us spoiled, because this one was such a let down. They also mixed a bunch of big chunks of onion into it. Not a problem for me, but my spouse doesn't like them and this is not normally a thing in bourbon chicken. Mostly it's just annoying because it's an obvious space-filling technique to give you less chicken. China king serves theirs without that nonsense on a little bed of cabbage and it is also extremely flavorful. The biggest atrocity of all was the lo mein. Once again, it lacked a lot of veggies and meat, but also the noodles were weirdly fat and soft. Overcooked, it seems. It was very lacking in flavor, which seemed to be the overall theme of this food. None of us wanted to touch our leftovers, which is something that has never happened before. My family spent almost $100 with this place and the only thing in the order that was "extra" was one small container of white rice. Now, I'm not saying I expect freebies. I don't. But in all of my lifetime, most Chinese takeout places throw something in there for a large order, at least more rice, and offer you a bottle of soda or something. Not even duck sauce or soy sauce packets were in there, and we were not asked if we needed any. I have this stuff at home, but we just got the overall vibe that this place is cutting corners while charging a serious premium for their food. If it had been comparable to China king even halfway, I'd have been happy enough, but all of it was pretty bad when that's what you're used to. I know I mention China King a lot in this review, and there's a reason for it. That place has been our regular for years. We don't order takeout too often but when we do, it's there. They charge a premium for their food but it is worth every penny. We realized they're closed on tuesdays, but had a craving, and ended up going with this place, figuring with reviews that good, it couldn't be too bad! I came here looking for a review like this one, and didn't find one, and now I regret spending that money on this food. I don't normally write reviews, but felt that someone in the future may end up making the same mistake as us on a Tuesday. Just make sandwiches for dinner and order your usual on Wednesday instead. I promise lol. Perhaps they were having a bad night. I'm not sure, but I don't think so. Writing this review weighs heavily on me as I don't want to HURT a business, but I also feel like with their prices, this place needs to make some serious improvements. read more

Simply the highest quality takeout in Columbia. My family is Asian and we rarely get off work in time to cook before a meal. Hunan wok is our go to, and we can count on the food being high quality. Most orders are for carry out service. The food is served hot in a solid container with a side of rice. The prices are great here. A solid Chinese restaurant if you are doing carry out. This is a newly opened Chinese restaurant and it's really very good. The food is served up quickly, it's accurate and it tastes great. Quite honestly, they have some of the absolute best bean curd/tofu I've ever eaten. It's prepared so well and is just amazingly good. Egg rolls are great, dumplings are average and the black bean chicken is great. The chicken wings are some of the best I've ever eaten. You can order them breaded or unbreaded. Always good and they give huge portions. Prices are very reasonable and have never had to wait a long time to get the food. We always order over the phone and pick it up, wait time normally runs 10-15 minutes. We have tried pricey Chinese in the area and none compare to Hunan they are ALWAYS much better. Great food just tried it tonight ! A+ are usually go to sung Ming but decided to try this place out instead the woman was very friendly and the food was awesome they use the thick noodles for lo mein which in my opinion taste so much better and the shrimp wasn't the size of my pinky nail it was big. I have gotten food at Hunan Wok a few times now. My family really enjoyed the beef with broccoli & the sesame chicken. They use white meat in the Sesame chicken, so that's awesome!
