I had a hankering for Chinese food but we don't have a good one that's close. I've heard good things about this place and figured I'd try it. Wow! It was really good! The place is not much to look at, but it is clean, and there are a few tables. I think 95% of their business is carryout or delivery. I normally don't like places with the pictures of the food above the counter but I rolled the dice and I ate there. The Sesame chicken is crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside and really flavorful! The egg roll was pretty good and the fried rice was really good. It was filling (I brought some home), but I didn't feel weighed down and it wasn't greasy and I didn't feel overwhelmed by sodium. I peeked in the kitchen and it looked pretty clean. The girl was friendly enough. No problems there, for me at least. The problem was the food. I had the large size beef and broccoli. The prices in the pics have gone up a couple dollars, by the way. The portion size was on the small side. The steamed rice was of poor quality. The entre was oily and had a strong vinegar taste. Not good at all. I asked for extra spicy, which the cook failed to execute. Instead I was given something red in a tiny cup that failed to get the job done. I've been here several times and each time the lady at the desk is racist. I speak and say "Hi, how are you?" and she keeps looking down and not speaking just handing me my food, but when I white lady is in there she speaks and says, "thank you, have a nice day.", fluently in English.Her problem isn't that she doesn't know English but that she is rude and has poor customer service skills. I was watching food videos and there were a lot of Chinese foods to look at so I decided to order some near by. This place is just down the road and I was able to order online which was convenient to look at the menu and order and get a total and time it would be done without having to call. I ordered the steamed dumplings, honey chicken combo for me and ordered the general tso's chicken for my fiancée. After I placed the order I waited until it was closer to the time it would be ready to head over. Went picked it up and the check out was fast and the lady at the counter was very nice. I grabbed a few sauce packets in case I needed them. I tried the dumplings first since they would get cold the fastest. The dipping sauce for them was amazing and the dumplings them selves were so big and juicy. I almost ate the whole tray myself in just a few mins. I will definitely be getting more of them in the future. The honey chicken wasn't as sweet or sticky like I'm used to but it was still very good, and the veggies were perfectly cooked with a little bit to them. The fried rice felt like it was almost undercooked but it didn't leave any gritty feeling so I think its just how they are fried. The general tso's chicken is not spicy at all and actually more sweet and bbq like. It's still good but if you want spicy you'll probably have to ask for it to be. The white rice was really good and soft and the egg roll was really crispy. I might try some different dishes next time but I'm definitely going to get those dumplings next time. read more

This is a typical strip mall Chinese place. A few tables, but most of their business is take-out. And what a business it is. The food. I had a lunch special Mongolian beef with white rice and hot and sour soup. If the kitchen can make very good hot and sour soup, then the rest of the food is usually great. This once again held true for China King. Excellent soup. The right taste, heat, texture and ingredients. The Mongolian beef was also very good although a little chewy but hey, it usually is. I have to admit, I wasn't expecting greatness... but the owner and the staff were so friendly. I'm from Cali, went to SC for my best friends wedding and I really wanted Chinese food. Looked up a couple of places and bam! China king! Walked in and ordered about $100 worth of food. No it wasn't just for us two, it was for about 10 or more people as well. I devoured the egg rolls and chow fun! I tried many of their dishes and you really can't go wrong with any. Everyone at China King was friendly. It is family owned and a little boy took our order. I knew it was good when he was the one taking out order. It just felt right. We've been ordering from here on an average of once per week for the past year and the food has always been great. The menu is large with the typical offerings and there are more specials posted inside the restaurant. The owners are super friendly and it's always really clean. Ordered for lunch, chicken was mediocre, rice had omelets instead of shredded eggs, and driver had dirty kitchen apron on. Super greasy food and certainly not worth what I paid for it. Ultimately the one word to describe it was lazy. If you can't take 2 seconds to remove an apron, chop eggs you're already stir frying, and care enough for the food you're putting out to be of quality, you probably don't belong in the service industry. The food is very average... egg rolls always dripping grease! The lady at the front never smiles and kids are running around in the kitchen contaminating everything with germs and no one cares! The very last time I went there (and the last time I'll ever go) a couple came in and shouted at the mean counter lady to turn on the air conditioner as it was 105 degrees outside and about 85 degrees in the restaurant. This is our favorite place to order Chinese. Consistently delicious and fresh. The food isn't overly greasy or too salty like some of the other restaurants in the area.
