The 3 stars are for the service but certainly not the food. Th food was bland, boring and so average. I have made better tasting Thai food mysef at home. Everything tasted like it was frozen, the satay skewers were appaling, tough chicken with absolutely no flavor at all, the spring roll was not cooked in the middle and still a little frozen, the main entree was the only saving grace, it at least had some flavor, Thai basil beef. The only reason for a higher score was the super nice server who actually listened to our feedback and we felt like he cared. But I will not go back again, it was so, so average and there are better options available. read more

A friend took me here, because she's been raving about it for a while. This spot did not disappoint. They have a very good menu. We started with some yummy edamame. Next came our delicious chicken kabobs and ginger chicken with vegetables. The service was great and they kept our glasses full. The restaurant itself is very open concept with a lot of light coming in. There are a few more items on the menu that I'd love to try. Maybe next time. read more

This location used to be M Kitchen, now its Miyo's. So don't get confused when you arrive by the sign outside restaurant. We were seated quickly upon arrival. They have plenty seating and a nice bar with TV screens. Our waiter was good, considering he had alot of tables. Its a nice spot for a celebration or date night. I was super shocked, the food was actually really good! We had aot of food for two people, enough for another day. Overall we had a wonderful evening meal. The food was good. We also had the bacon wrapped shrimp which should have had a Mandarin orange sauce, but instead was yum-yum sauce. However, there were lots of veggies on the plate, too and could have been enough for an entree. The entrees pictured below were ample and tasty. The waitress was awesome. I was happy to see this location near my work open up again on Columbiana Drive. It's the only option for a decent, healthy meal. I have been several times since they reopened. Always happy with the food, service, and cleanliness. Today, I had a late lunch at this location. When I went to the ladies room, I had to check to see if it was the men's room because It reeked of urine. The floor was sticky. My shoes reeked of urine after using the restroom. On my way out, I let the dispatcher (I didn't see a manager) know that the floor in the ladies room needed cleaning. This is inexcusable for an establishment that has been so successful in this town for the past thirty years. Surely they can afford a cleaning crew. Disappointing. read more

Just got some delivery, and was surprised at ability to order both sushi and stir fry with both showing up in great shape. Sushi (eel, jalapeno yellowtail) was excellent and fresh tasting (and I am picky). Choose-your-own stir fry was really nice and warming on a dreary day. I really enjoyed what I had at lunch on a Saturday. My lunch sushi plate came with the Green Dragon for a $2 upcharge, but I absolutely loved this sushi. It came with a ginger salad, which was big enough to share with someone and I really liked it too. We ordered egg drop soup, which was also good and only cost $2 each. The pork dumplings were pan fried but was not my favorite & JA thought they were just ok too. JA didn't love her Shanghai noodle, but that's just her personal preference. My friend ordered the spice on the side for her Phat Thai noodle & we still thought it was a bit too saucy for our taste. K liked his lunch sushi plate & JA discovered she likes raw tuna & other fish sushi. I thought the deluxe fried rice was really good even though we were too full to eat it all. Vegetables aren't fully cooked (I didn't mind that but just wanting to let you all know) The staff was very friendly, they checked in on me a couple of times to make sure I was enjoying the food or if I needed more water. Went to Miyos for the first time for a Valentines date. It was a really nice atmosphere--well lit, classy. There was a great selection on the menu, especially for me since I am vegan. We had Andrew De'MAN (tall, jacked, sick ear piercing, definitely pulls) as our server. He immediately got our drinks; very well-composed and knew the menu extremely well. After the drinks, Charles promptly brought out our edamame which he personally salted for us right at the table. When he did this, he gave my husband the most caring look...and that's when we really knew we were in good hands at a lovely establishment. The edamame was perfection. Next, he brought out pur entrees. I ordered the sesame tofu, and my husband ordered the chicken kabobs. When Dr. Delavalle (Ph.D. in hospitality management) brought out the entrees, that is when we were truly dazzled. He delivered the plates then pulled out his yoyo and did the DNA trick (super impressive) and we were completely stunned. He signed the yoyo and gave it to my husband then hit the meanest jazz hands that I've ever seen and left us with "enjoy your meals." They were some of the best meals we've ever had. Though at one point, I choked on the onion in my fried rice and Charles administered the heimlich and saved my life. He is a true hero. We finished our meals after this, and Andrew (circa 2003) insisted on paying for our meals. This was the most wonderful Valentine's date of my life. We will definitely be returning to Miyos. We also really enjoyed the parking lot entertainment from the motel behind the restuarant! 10/10 Recommend! read more

I am so disappointed in Miyo's! This place used to have excellent Asian food, not any more. My noodle salad was half unripened tomatoes; my husband's general Tso's chicken was COLD! He sent it back and they nuked it. He said it tasted like the frozen chicken you get from the grocery store. His "vegetable-fried rice" was regular rice with a few strings of cabbage in it. We definitely will NOT be going back! If I could give it a negative star rating - I would. I will add though - our server was very good. read more

My favorite vegetarian dish is the create your own wok with black bean sauce (not on the website, but in the print menu). Always great service for dining in or takeout. I've been to other Miyo's locations and for the most part, the food is decent, reasonably priced and the service is excellent. I've eaten as this location twice in the past month and I had a similar experience. The MooShoo beef with fried rice is my Miyo's go-to. It's filling but not overly heavy. You can't do better than this for lunch. Less than $10 and I could have probably made a second meal out of. The Thai Basil with beef is my second-favorite. It's healthy and the rich sauce with a hint of sweet and the crisp asparagus texture makes this the kind of dish I crave. The atmosphere is nice and the parking is ample. A much better place than most Asian restaurants in Columbia. It's a fusion place so not "authentic," but quite good! read more

So annoying! WHY DO CHEF PUT THAT BOTTOM HARD CHEWY STEM PART OF ASPARAGUS IN SUSHI I NEVER UNDERSTOOD..! However, it tasted really great! Fried Rice with Vegetables and Without Eggs was done well..! Excellent as usual. Kung Pao Tofu with Bell peppers actually had good amount of sauce (unlike other times when there is barely any sauce) that tasted Really good. Proper blend of spices. I could taste spiciness which was perfect. SPICY GARLIC EGGPLANT INITIALLY CAME OUT WITHOUT ANY RED CHILLIES ADDED TO IT..! I couldn't believe my eyes as everytime we have ordered SPICY GARLIC EGGPLANT, there has ALWAYS BEEN RED CHILLIES VISIBLE..! So WHAT CHEF THOUGHT TODAY I AM NOT SURE BUT NO CHILLIES VISIBLE. I tasted and it was blend..! I returned the dish and requested to redo it. They did and the dish came out and I could smell garlic and saw very few red chillies. Even the sauce was not as usually I have tasted. It used to be on lightly sweeter side but I wasn't tasting that subtle sweetness either. It still tasted a bit blend and off than usual taste so I had to then keep eating that with chilli paste which is still not the same as actual chilli garlic eggplant curry/paste that it is prepared in..! This restaurant is amazing! The food is so fresh and there are so many options! The chicken lettuce wraps are especially delicious. We love the soy mix sauce they come with. Their ginger house salad is also really good. It's not just cut up iceberg lettuce like a lot of the other Asian fusion places. It has fresh mixed lettuce and is a nice size. I don't eat sushi but have been there with people who rave about it, and they enjoy the luncheon plates that are reasonably priced. The servings are quite large as well. The pictures I attached are lunch servings. It's usually enough for me to have for two lunches. Also, the "fried vegetable rice" is not fried. It's really light and tasty and not oily or heavy like most fried rice. It's an attractive restaurant with friendly staff. I can't say enough good things about it. My dad I went here one night for dinner. Our server was MIA for the better part of the evening, and when she did appear, it was obvious we were a complete inconvenience to her because she clearly had better things to do then her job. We ordered the lettuce wraps as an appetizer, and those were pretty decent. I then ordered the Samurai sushi roll and the Vietnamese summer rolls. My father ordered the Szechuan beef. First off, the sushi "roll" was a squared off block of rice with a vague amount of spicy tuna smeared into the middle. The Vietnamese rolls were hands down the worst I have ever had in any restaurant anywhere. It was a bunch of shredded lettuce wrapped in rice paper, with a single shrimp thrown in for good measure. It was sitting it what I assumed was supposed to be a peanut sauce. Worst. Sauce. Ever. It tasted like mayonnaise. Brownish, peanut sauce looking mayonnaise. I actually gagged. As for my dads Szechuan beef. It was peppers. A whole, giant plate of red and green peppers, with a few cuts of meat thrown in. The picture attached is the amount of peppers left after my father had finished eating. And he did actually eat a good amount of them AND had a take home container. The completely annoyed and disinterested "server" didn't seem to care that the food sucked and made no effort to correct it, offer something else, or discount/not charge for obviously bad, uneaten food. So, if you enjoy eating truly horrible "Asian" food with matching customer service, then this is the place for you. read more

Since this was a to-go order and packed on its side along with another item, the liquid leaked all over. The summer rolls were devoid of anything but lettuce and rice noodles and each had literally 1/2 of a small shrimp. And these came with no sauce and there was no fresh herbs.
