I make it a habit to know what services I receive and what kind of benefits that are associated with the services through insurance. Yesterday, I received a bill in the mail (first time) saying that I owe almost $2,000. (The bill has no information of any kind explaining where this amount is coming from) So, naturally I was concerned and called the dentist office immediately. This is the first time I am seeing or hearing this amount billed to me. I spoke to a newly hired office employee that explained to me that I had been carrying a balance for almost 2 years for services that were rendered. Everytime I get any kind of treatment or service, I make it a habit to PAY IN FULL the amount that is owed the date services are rendered. If not, then I set up a PAYMENT PLAN to cover any remaining amount the date services are rendered. The young lady on the phone explained to me EOB's that are covered through insurance and the remaining amounts are billed to the clients. My questions were why am I just now receiving a bill? Why are you threatening to send me to collections in 10 days if the bill is not paid in full? Why did I not receive a statement, phone call, or bill prior? Why would I continue to get services/ treatment at an establishment if I have an open balance? Why doesn't the bill show detailed information about what was billed for and why? The billing system that created this document hasn't been updated since 2022 showing the lack of monitoring the billing system has. (Shown at the bottom of the bill) Keep in mind, I received this bill (for the first time) 12/23/24. Two days before Christmas. Judging by the past reviews of disgruntled prior existing patients, it seems that I am not the only one who has had issues with the billing department and the LACK OF TRANSPARENCY through billing. I would never agree to pay for services, NOT knowing the full amount that is due at the time of services. This type of business practice appears to be shady and not forthcoming. This kind of business practice literally leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

They botched a procedure and the repeated issues since have not been remedied. I thought continuing to go back since it is the same issue with where it occurred was a good idea, but not so much. I paid for the initial procedure and never asked for a refund, even paid for the first couple of fixes, after a while I didn't see how I or my insurance should be responsible to pay for fixes on something that was their doing. Yet their front offices staff argues and attempt to continue to bill, without consulting the dr. Look elsewhere for your dental work.

The hygienist rescheduled my cleaning so I would not have to wait an extended period after the treatment plan changed. At checkout, the front desk told me the hygienist was not allowed to make that change and that I would be charged a same-day cancellation fee. When I questioned this, I was called argumentative and was refused the opportunity to speak with a manager or someone else in the office. Another patient in the lobby overheard the conversation and made a comment that I had done nothing wrong and the girl treated her similarly. I completed the patient survey and requested a call back to discuss my concerns, but never received a response. I ultimately decided to get a second opinion, and I'm glad I did, as another issue was identified that had not been brought to my attention during my visit. The combination of poor communication, lack of follow-up, and concerns about my overall experience is extremely disappointing. I hope the office takes this feedback seriously and works to improve the patient experience moving forward.

Gangs of New York style doctors. I am a Texan who went to this business as a child growing up and then my doctors retired. I recently found a WOMAN who has been a dentist for over 25 years who was nice to me. She just gave me a night guard and sent me on my way. These doctors want us to pay them lots of money and they dont actually want to save your teeth. I know that because the doctors that used to work at this place named Lutrell and Gomillion told me dentists like to have you with bad teeth so they can make money. I have never felt such disgusted and disdain as both of these dentist acted towards me just for being late driving in to an appointment. When I finally got an appointment I requested the time off from work only to show up and be told that I could not be seen because the system was down. What that has to do with my cleaning is beyond me but I was not seen. Drove 25 minutes to get there and took time off from work for nothing. I did not reschedule and will find somewhere else to go. Mind you, they said they've been working on the system update since Friday so a courtesy call on Friday would've been good. I might have been more inclined to reschedule then if I knew I wouldn't have wasted time on Monday.
