One those places I have write on menu for my order, feels like a blast from the past. Not much in the way service to be mentioned here. So for their lunch menu, it's pretty bare bones, considering they don't offer a soup, egg roll or can soda with it. Shame since that is always a nice perk on top being a little bit cheaper than the regular items. Shrimp with broccoli was alright, I mean shrimp was good but on the smaller side and very much dwarfed to the broccoli which has the longest stalks I ever seen, no tiny broccoli here. Plenty of sauce on both of the items. Pork fried rice was decent and glad their rice was not with any bean sprouts, plus the sauce added a lot more flavor too. For fried scallops lightly fried and pretty meaty, much appreciated they provide a cup of tartar sauce for tipping, a rarity among take outs. The dim sum, was best, very meaty pork filling with diced carrots and surprisingly there was chopped shrimp underneath the pork filling, never seen that before, but a plus all the same. I love this place. I believe it's the best in the area. I almost always order the chicken broccoli, wonton egg drop soup and hubby gets the shrimp with lobster sauce. I also started getting the Chow Mei Fun which is also good. The service is quick and has been much better since the older lady left and the younger man is in the front. She just seemed angry all the time. There's no ambiance. This is a takeout place. read more

Solid take out spot in Hyde Park. Now it's best to call in your order wait 15 minutes then when you arrive call again to see if order is ready. The have made the pickup and payment super easy. Credit card machine near door so social distancing is observed. So far I have had General Tso chicken, chicken with cashews, special ho Fun. Things haven't changed much here since I first started coming here some unknown number of years ago. The pictures of the dishes over the counter are worn and faded, as is the decor. But your orders are prepared quickly and come out hot. My chicken and broccoli lunch was pretty basic. The broccoli was still crisp. My first few pieces of chicken were hot and juicy, but then the next piece was hot and dry/chewy, almost as if it had been cooked earlier and saved to put in a later dinner. And it was a larger piece of chicken, so it wasn't a case of being overcooked. These were on a large bed of pork-fried rice, with nice large chunks of pork, but mostly rice, and few other chopped veggies, egg, or other interesting things mixed in with it. But by basic, I also mean that was all I got with the lunch special. I have no idea how common this is, but until today, I'd never been to a take-out Chinese restaurant where they didn't include a fortune cookie. If you wanted one you had to pay extra for it - you had to pay extra if you wanted mustard, soy sauce, or duck sauce too. It was a nominal fee for any of them, something like 5-10 cents apiece. Perhaps a way to keep costs down? It certainly wasn't a bad meal, but there's several competing Chinese restaurants in the area, and it's probably worth visiting them all to get an idea of which one(s) you like best. read more

We're not sure why this place is rated so high, but the food is just mediocre at best. We ordered 2 items from here, since the Lady K place next door was not open, and the dishes tastes almost exactly alike even though it was suppose to be different sauces. haha. The staff is friendly though, and there's only seating for 8-10 people since I think I only saw 2-3 tables. read more

I found a diamond in the rough for Chinese takeout! Hung Far II is a cozy Chinese takeout place or "hole in the wall" located in the Haviland Shopping Center adjacent to Rita's on Route 9G. The "not very fancy" place is order at the counter with a visible kitchen in the back and two tables for eating in, in front of the counter. They serve up a good sized Chinese menu including Mandarin, Szechuan, Hunan, and Cantonese cuisines. Most menu items are priced $9.95 or less and special suggestions priced $8.55 to $12.65. 33 Daily Lunch Specials ($5.55-$5.95 until 3PM) served with pork fried rice and 27 Special Combination Plates ($7.95 each) served with pork fried rice & egg roll are offered here. 9 Diet Lunch combos ($5.55-$6.15) served with white rice are also offered. I stopped in at Hung Far II for dinner takeout very recently. I ordered the C26 Shrimp with Garlic Sauce ($7.95 plus tax) served with pork fried rice & egg roll. The food was hot and ready to go in under 10 minutes. The good portion of food was served in a rectangular plastic microwaveable container. The Shrimp with Garlic sauce was excellent tasting and very fresh, which had good amounts of jumbo shrimp (firm-clean inside),, water chestnuts, baby corn, and fresh vegetables (broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, green peppers, onions, snow peas) in a sweet and mild spicy garlic sauce. The pork fried rice was cooked just right with a soft fluffy texture with tender roast pork cubes and sauteed onions, very yummy! The egg roll was slightly greasy, but light tasting, crispy on the outside and filled with shredded cabbage and minced pork. I thoroughly enjoyed my very tasty Chinese takeout dinner from Hung Far II and I would definitely order Chinese takeout again from this place again! read more

I don't know what possessed me to not check Yelp before placing an order here. My mom wanted Chinese food, and although the China Wok on Route 9 was closed, I heard a raving recommendation of this location from a nearby customer, thought about the location, and decided to try it. I can't tell you much about the experience talking with this place today (my mom placed the order), but I do remember her mentioning that she had a hard time understanding the employee because there's a language barrier. They made the order wrong - but did come out to discuss the issues, to ensure accuracy. However, that's not all. Although Bill Z kind of mentioned the same points I'm about to mention, we were able to look them up on the board of Health's website, and it seems like this place is hanging on by a thread - not too sure why it hasn't closed down just yet. Food was overcooked and wasn't steaming hot. My beef and snow pea came out with more vegetables than neither the beef and snow peas, and as for the rest, everyone else was having problems with the food - including my 91-year old grandma. They abused the soy-sauce MSG seasoning (seems like they dumped a half a carton worth into the pint-size container). I won't be returning here forever and ever - no questions asked! read more

We were told to circle what we wanted on the menu People were in and out of the restaurant with take out orders. So that says something about the food? Moo goo gai pan was goo. Lots of vegetables less chicken. Vegetables in big chunks and lots of water chestnuts which I don't prefer. Pork fried rice came with the combo, good but a little bland which can be good for such a flavorful main dish (sesame chicken). By the time we ate it ( which was the ride home; 30 minutes) the chicken wasn't crispy and wasn't anything to write home about. Egg drop wonton soup and Chinese donuts were really good! Tables were really sticky like it has been a while since they were properly cleaned. We sat down while waiting for the food. Over all good experience. Pray you get what you order, if not they can't handle making mistakes or even admitting them. Two errors in last two orders not felt with graciously at all. If your order is correct, best in area. If they make an error, you're better "eating it" yourself. They are incapable of accepting or digesting their own errors, so sad! read more

Horrible! Been going to this place for years for the convenient location, but it's really gone downhill in recent years. They get the orders wrong consistently, the place is getting kind of dirty, talked to some friends who found hair in their food. And on top of that, the customer service is really bad, sometimes downright nasty if you point out a problem to them. My wife and I are NEVER going back there again. We were regular customers, but we're done. Would rather drive a little farther into Hyde Park for China Wok or Great Wall. STAY AWAY! P.S. Don't know why it says "San Francisco, CA" next to my name. The food is good but the lady owner is not a nice person. Someone took my food so I had to wait for them to remake my order. Never once did she apologize she just kept telling me you pay now and wait outside. Very nasty, rude and unprofessional environment. Very good food. Had difficulty with finding my order when I ordered online. They made up for it and gave me a free appetizer.

The food here was pretty good, not over priced and didn't take long at all. The store itself is very small, and the staff weren't too friendly. We walked in and the man in the front asked what we came in for, we said pickup and our number, he walked to the back talked to someone for about 5minutes then came back and asked what we wanted again, so we told him and he picks the bag that's sitting on the counter, the whole time we were there, and asks for a 3rd time what our number is, and then we paid and left. We also have Chinese students who live with us and they prefer the food over the other options. This is my go to chinese take-out in the area. I've lived on Long Island and I've lived in PA and honestly, this is my favorite chinese take-out restaurant out of all the ones I've ordered from ever in my life. The prices are reasonable, service is fast and friendly, and they are really quick with orders. My biggest reason for loving this place so much is their fried rice. The pork fried rice has a generous amount of chasu pork and the rice has a nice subtle flavor w/out too much soy sauce or anything overpowering it. I also am a huge fan of the orange chicken here and the other combo plates, which comes in a really generous serving with my favorite fried rice. This is the best Chinese food in our area (Rhinebeck). We have been searching for quite some time. We're from Brooklyn and the Chinese food while I was growing is not to be found in our area - or is it? I don't mean unhealthy. I mean - the lobster sauce here has the small bits of pork in it. The spareribs are meaty and lean. The egg rolls are the best I've had with full insides that don't make you think that they just chopped up leftovers and threw it inside the egg roll. The outside is a crispy, without dripping oil. When did fried rice in this area begin to look pale and just scooped out of a tub of previously made fried rice? I ordered House Special Fried Rice at Hung Far II and it came dark colored as having just been made with care. Unfortunately, the next time it was not quite as good or as dark. But I'm still checking out all the dishes and hoping the pale rice was a mistake that day. We drive a bit more than 20 minutes each way, but it is worth it. read more
