Amazingly friendly staff/owner cheerfully took our order which was a lunch special of Beef Teriyaki wonton soup. The lunch special included white rice slices of tender beef in teriyaki sauce and some shumai. This meal was 100 times better than McDonald's for less price. Sadly, after an amazing experience a few months ago, my time there was all thumbs down!!!! Prior to sitting, I inquired whether they had fluke and stripe bass to which Chef said YES! When i began ordering, they now didn't have either fish. I was disappointed and somewhat suspicious. Nonetheless, instead of now ordering a la carte, I simply ordered from their lunch menu. If you look at my photos, my lunch alone was over $100.00 not inclyd8a tip. Money well spent. However, when the server brought me my tobiko with quail egg and my uni with quail egg, the eggs were broken. They know better to break quail eggs prior ro serving. I said to Chef to please re plate with unbroken eggs. Mind you sashimi. This lazy now not as kind to me put my uni and my tobiko on 2 spoons. I was disappointed and quickly CANCELED the rest of my order. To say the least, I will not return. Sadly, the server started to raise her voice at me insisting that it was too late to cancel. Now for the food, mizu seafood soup was good, broth was flavorful and plenty variety of seafood, but I will say definitely would better with less cabbage. Tuna roll, was alright, could been better if the tuna itself was grounded, rather whole. The CIA roll was favorite sweet and savory, with the yellowtail and sliced mango on top with special sauce. Also never had sushi with edible gold flakes, very interesting hah. Strawberry bubble tea, was very good, not much else otherwise it was no different to other places. It's a Thursday night and we came by for dinner with my two daughters and hubby. I was really excited to introduce this restaurant to my daughter for the first time. My Green Curry dinner with brown rice was delicious although really light on the chicken. A nice spice which I LOVE! My daughter ordered the Pad Thai. Although she liked it, I tried it and didn't like it. Waaaay too sweet like they poured sweet and sour sauce on it. If you're looking for a nice Thai Pad Thai this is NOT it. The Seared Tuna with Mango Salad was not great either. It was overcooked and the tablespoon of mango over it is not a salad in my book. Actually not in anyone's book! The Seafood Salad was good but served warm which was weird. The rolls are good. The Spicy Crunchy Roll and the Sunrise roll were really delicious. We had the bubble tea and they are delicious This is not my first review of this restaurant and I feel it's lacking tonight. I am hoping this is a one off. Delicious dinner here this weekend- one of the only sushi restaurants in the area open for dine in. Very busy for takeout around dinner time but the service was still quick and attentive. We had some delicious sushi rolls and a side of hibachi fried rice and a side of hibachi noodles. The price for the sides are $3 each and the portions were huge! We've been here twice in one week and go often when we visit our Aunt upstate. We don't live in Hyde Park, but our aunt does and we're happy to have food from Mizu when we're visiting! Yummy food, but even more wonderful staff!! The owners are so so nice and their staff is equally fantastic. I've only really had interactions with the front staff, but the owners are so nice and it was a pleasure to get to chat with them in person. We like to get the chicken teriyaki and the shrimp teriyaki boxes and the noodles go really well with the sauce. It's always a feast because we also get rice, vegetables, and we get extra noodles. We have gotten some special rolls which were definitely good, but we have been a fan of the cooked foods. We have had a time where the chicken was cooked differently than the other times and while it wasn't the same, it wasn't bad either. If you are wanting to substitute anything, make sure you specify as they are definitely willing to, but if you aren't specific, when it's entered into the computer, it will come up as an extra charge - just an FYI. We have come during covid for take out to spend time with our Aunt (we are from Brooklyn) and it has always been a nice experience. We'll be back soon! read more

After all the traveling I've done around the area to find sushi restaurants which I enjoy visiting, it was kind of a slap-myself-on-the-head and say "D'oh" moment when I found I had overlooked a great place practically in my back yard... even worse I'm in that plaza frequently. The exterior of Mizu is very small and unassuming. Don't make that same assumption about their food or service. I'll start right off with one of the important things, their sake. They have a nice selection, both warm and cold, and they also have a sake sangria. We got a couple of appetizers, including shumai and a special of the evening, port pot-stickers. We enjoyed the rolls. I thought the special rolls were especially well made, and these (tonight those were the Golden Apple and Hawaiian Scenery) were my favorite part of the dinner. The rice was excellent quality, and no soy sauce of any kind was necessary. There were a couple of minor things that, for me, brought down the meal just a tiny bit. One of our orders of rolls did not come out with the rest. They apologized several times and got them to our table as quickly as possible. Also, their wasabi is just a bit too hot and spicy, perhaps the spiciest I've ever had, and it didn't enhance the flavor of the fish as I had hoped. But neither of these were deal-breakers at all, and I will definitely be coming back here more, especially with my sushi-loving friends. They also have a nice assortment of other items on the menu for my friends who either don't like sushi or prefer vegetarian options such as tempura vegetables. I was also amazed at how much take-out business they do here. That's another sure sign that Mizu is popular with folks locally (as I now am). read more

What an amazing experience. If you were in the area, even if you are not in the area I highly highly highly recommend coming in checking the sushi spot out. Not only is the sushi amazing but the selection is exciting and different with so many good taste! We stumbled in the spot after visiting Vanderbilt mansion and we will absolutely be back regardless of the hour drive. Today we had the amazing tuna, wasabi tuna dumplings, love ocean, Hudson Bridge and ended with a cappuccino truffle. The love ocean was definitely our absolute favorite but literally everything we had was amazing. I've had a lot of sushi in NYC at some of the best places, so I'm always skeptical, but Mizu Sushi lives up to 5 stars. On this visit, I had three different rolls, a spicy crunchy tuna, a Philadelphia roll, and a Boston roll. All were fresh and tasty. My partner had the Hibachi NY strip which was excellent. The side of noodles was fabulously seasoned, and the veggies were crisp. I will certainly be back to this Hyde Park gem. It might just have been the night, a rainy Thursday, but the top sushi in the area was very mediocre. The hostess was very nice and the spot is comfortable in a usual Hudson Valley sushi den way. Food though, was very standard Americanized sushi with lots of complex Special Rolls. The fish quality was fine, but I found the rice gloopy, a deal-breaker.
