Only giving a 1 star so I can write this review but even the 1 star is not warranted. This place has the stupidest ambiance- worse food- and the waitstaff was comical to say the least. I can NOT believe this place exists in this neighborhood. Today they have a big party that practically took up the entire place which doesn't say much but the kitchen and waitstaff were completely clueless on how to handle the regulars plus the crowd. We had to flag someone down and ask for everything. No true pro-active service only horrible reactive. Our waitress was so proud of herself when she told me our fries were soggy so she asked them to drop back in the fryer.... A simple club sandwich had to be deconstructed in order to take a bite. The deli meat was straight out of food towns packaged lunch meat section. The French toast was a soggy piece of toast with no life- bacon burnt- eggs looked like they were straight out of a carton. Beers were warm and other patrons at the bar mentioned they should have gone to Katz instead. Needless to say, we will never return! read more

Started off the meal with fried pickles and they were amazingly good! Really crispy and small bites! Chicken and waffles was perfect for that savory and sweet meal. We made it to " Hungry like the wolf" diner!" Ordered the Optimus prime Angus beef burgers, 45m wait but food came quick. Staff friendly. Hubby ordered the bisquits and gravy. A little too much sausage, not enough gravy, biscuits were hard, and all had too much garnish in everything. It's ok, just 2 weeks opened, still working out the kinks. Some waitresses had leg warmers, loved it! Atmosphere awesome, played Galaga and Mrs Pacman with my 14yo gamer YouTuber son, had to school him. Great foods and service! I had gotten the MTV wrap and it was really refreshing! The flavors were super fresh and the fries that came with it were absolutely amazing. Was very surprised how much I enjoyed the frozen Bellini, or three. They're still learning the kitchen so menu changes, but trust me they do it well. Went here this morning and it was extremely disappointing. We chose it because of the breakfast menu we saw online. However, when we got there, we got the brunch menu. There is no indication on the website that the Sunday brunch menu is different. No pancakes. No omelets. And a relatively small menu for a diner. The service could have been much better. At times we had to wait quite a while for coffee, and other drinks. The food was average at best. The waffles were good, as were the hash browns and the bacon. Eggs were just ok, and we got 1 piece of toast with a meal called To The Max, which is supposed to be their big plate. We won't be returning. his place was very impressive from the get-go. From the outside, it had the same look as the shopping center its part of but the moment you step through the doors, you're transported back in time. The servers are all dressed in theme and every part of the restaurant's décor was on point. When I went with my friends, we all ordered the same thing: chicken fried steak. It was hilarious when they brought out the plates because the slices of steak were bigger than my head, probably double the size! There was no way I could finish it in one sitting so in actuality, I was very looking forward to the next 1-2 servings of it as leftover meals. Though, to be completely honest, it did not blow me away. The sides were good though, you can't go wrong with garlic mashed potatoes. We also got nachos to share and one of the shakes, I can't remember anymore if it was the Terminator or the Screaming Orgasm, but it was suuuuper tasty (and quite boozy). Made my third trip to HLTW and am still I impressed. I had the fried shrimp this time and it did not disappoint. The shrimp were flavorful and crispy. The place is decorated as if a college student had a $100 bill and was dropped off at Kohl's and told to decorate like it's the 80s. Unfortunately the food and service don't get any better. I split the chicken fried steak with my wife and outside of ordering that, an extra plate, and water the waitress still forgot everything but the entree. It's ok, it was a packed house of literally one (1) other table occupied. The chicken fried steak is is prepped and wrapped carefully in plastic wrap before it's cooked. I know that because we literally found plastic wrap on our fully cooked meal. Luckily when we called the manager over he was super helpful. He told us they prepare the food and wrap it in plastic so it's bound to make it into the fully cooked and served platter. He offered a generous $4.80 discount for the trouble. Really appreciated how the waitress, who despite witnessing all of these issues, proceeded to tell us about karaoke night and how to join their loyalty club. OMG! I stepped back several decades when I entered the door. From the decor, the music, the furniture...everything! Sang along with every song playing!! So much potential!!! I really give it 3.5 stars. Music was awesome! Loved the big TV with all the videos I remember. However, it's dead. We were there and I think there was one other table. It's designed to be a restaurant, but it should be more of a bar. Like I said, the place has amazing potential, they just need to consider who their clientele is. Stop trying to to pretend you're a family friendly place. Take out some of those tables and turn them into bar area. It also should be mandatory that if you're going to play music like that you have dance floor. There is a bar area but it's kind of hidden in the back you really don't know this it. You just notice all the tacky tables everywhere. The way the place is laid out is totally wrong. Kills the vibe. Again this should not be a place to go have dinner. They should be a place to go dance, listen to music, I have a few drinks, and maybe a few bar bites. The menu is strange it's like you're at somebody's house. They only have options of things like salad or chicken fried steak or salmon. It's a little all over the place but it's quite a small menu and it's pricey for what it is. If you offered a fair price and played that same music you would have more repeat customers. It really don't kill the place. Please go in more of a Bar direction. It should not be some bright restaurant. It should be a place you can move and groove have some drinks and possibly a couple of bites. read more
