I used to live in Muncie so I've been visiting Hunnicutts for a while. I would have them a 5 but due to poor customer service by Phillip they are getting a 2. I walked up to the counter a lady was outside had already placed her order and was standing back. I was right there at front window waiting. Phillip comes up and acknowledges the lady behind me, doesn't say who is next but ask can he help her. I told him I was next in line. Then when i told young man about his behavior he told me it didn't happen. Phillip please learn better customer skills, only can think you had a problem with my skin color abs decided to help someone who looks like you. I won't ever be visiting this place again.

No business is 5 * by everyone! but I just across this "Jewell." It's NOT a BIG FANCY, national chain, with all the disappointments they always give me. This is actually a small, facility, busy with locals ENJOYING their great sundaes, shakes & cones, & more. I was surprised at the cleanliness, quality servings, & very reasonably price. They have a wide variety of frozen treats, & more, "too numerous to mention."

Drive up menus. The menu out front for walk up ordering has more options with all the food and ice cream

As our weekend wound down, we all decided we wanted to go out for a special dinner. The suggestion came to check out Ron Lahody's Trust Your Butcher Steakhouse. It's about four blocks, easily within walking distance for most and with street parking around for those not able to walk that distance, from the Courtyard and I have to admit I was in for something a bit more premium. Lahody grew up around the meat business, though entered it a bit later after some time in the Marines, graduating from Ball State, working in the family business, and then spending 22 years in home remodeling. Finally, he opened Lahody meats in 2008 and then years later made it to the actual steakhouse business. Lahody still owns Lahody Meats in Muncie, recently opened a steakhouse in Anderson, and yet this spot is the original. As a wheelchair user, I was definitely looking for something wheelchair friendly. Downtown Muncie tends to be older and you can never be certain. I'd gone wheeling around the area the day before and was pretty sure this would be safe. We made our reservation for the end of our work day and then headed over to the steakhouse. I instantly fell in love with the place. It's intimate yet finely decorated. It has the traditional steakhouse vibe with a wood, warm environment, a nicely done bar area, and a couple spots that were clearly made for accessibility. We were placed in one of those booth/tables - small yet nicely sized and none of us ever felt over-cramped. I sat at the end of the booth while my friends took the inside seats. Our server, whose name I have unfortunately forgotten, was wonderful from beginning to end. The young woman was very friendly and helpful. Service was nicely paced, attentive, and never intrusive. It's worth noting that while you can eat somewhat modestly here, and they do have specials, this really is a higher-end steakhouse designed for premium dining. We ordered a couple appetizers at $15 each - candied bacon and green tomatoes. I had never tried candied bacon and kind of fell in love with it. My two peers enjoyed the green tomatoes. My peers enjoyed alcohol, a couple brews each with a solid variety available, and I enjoyed my usual unsweetened iced tea. We all ordered steaks, a definite rarity for me. One peer went for filet mignon. Myself and the other for a New York Strip. You get two sides with a steak. I saw they had roasted potatoes, an absolute favorite of mine, and I doubled an order for my two sides. Lahody himself was in-house. He's an older gent, silver-haired yet impeccably dressed. He was introducing himself to customers and sitting at the end of the bar when I left. When he thanked you for coming, the gratitude felt sincere. Service? Top-notch. Accessibility? I didn't visit the restroom, however, everything was accessible and comfortable. The steak? Oh my, I haven't had a steak this good in a long time. It was cooked as ordered and prepared beautifully. The roasted potatoes were nicely seasoned and simply sublime. This was a definite splurge for me, however, as we were celebrating finishing up a non-profit film it felt like a beautiful way to celebrate with friends in an environment where I felt welcome. There's no question I'll return.

The first night I tried massaman, which was the closest thing to yellow curry that I saw on the menu. . . well the yellow curry I'm used to. I ordered it with a spice level of 5. It was very flavorful but I asked for additional ground chilies. I also tried the cheese Rangoons and egg rolls. Both were very crispy and small, just the way I liked it. They gave use sweet and sour sauce, peanut sauce, and another dipping sauce for the egg rolls. Not sure what it was. Kinda tasted like a pot sticker sauce. The next day I had Pad Thai. It was good. My friend had the red curry soup both days and had one to go. She also ordered chicken wings and paper wrapped shrimp (not to sure of the name). The owner was very nice to us.

This just seemed like thick fried dough. Not served with sweet and sour sauce; had some sort of soy sauce that tasted oddly alcoholic. :( Moving on... The Thai iced coffee is good. Only one dude running the place: serving and cooking, it seems. I was able to score some silverware from another table since I wasn't given any. Can't imagine how slow it would be if it was busy. The meal was not fantastic. I think of Thai as light and fresh. This was thick, goopy, and heavy, with no veggies but onions. Was not asked spice level and thus was not given any spice. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish. The space is very dated, but it seems clean. I wanted to like this spot as o love Thai and cannot get it where I live. Alas, this place is certainly not worth the trip. I will not be back.
