Our marriage has been failing for awhile now, and that's really sad. But KFC cheers me up sometimes, though it's hard to cheer me up when the marriage counseling isn't going well, haha, that just shows how good this KFC is to cheer me up! While the service was slow the chicken was worth it, could barely taste it through my tears though! Just kidding, I wasn't crying then. Anyways, 5 stars, can't save my marriage but can save my appetite!

After 10 mins, when he's done packing the Ubers food, he then takes our order and tells us that chicken will be ready in 12 mins... if you could have taken our order earlier maybe we wouldn't have to wait. Ok whatever we are hungry. Placed our order. Wasn't 12 minutes. Literally over 20 minutes for 6 piece of chicken.... It's a Friday night... families don't want to cook and want a quick easy meal. It's crazy how 3 food delivery and 3 walk ins got their meals before us... the seventh person that walked in, I am clearly getting frustrated. There is no sense of urgency. Isn't urgency important in the food industry?!? Three ppl working and not moving fast enough and hiding behind a wall instead of taking orders. What the heck? Hire more people, get chicken ready... it's a chicken place and how the heck do you not have chicken ready on a Friday night!?!

Count on Mom's for affordable Chinese food…read more Mom's Pan-Fried Bun in Newmarket offers great value, and is often packed during mealtime with families. This is one of 7 locations now across the GTA. While pan-fried buns & soup dumplings are on the menu, noodles are our go-to here. Their menu also features burgers, fried chicken wings and apps such as scallion pancakes and desserts including pumpkin pie with red bean filling. The soy milk is light and refreshing. The tomato-based noodle soup is rich and slightly tangy. We like that it's always served piping hot and comes with a crispy pork cutlet. The cutlet does soften quick while soaking up the soup. You can also pick between their braised beef noodle soup or their house beef noodle soup with tripe, beef rolls & a smaller pork cutlet for $10.99. It's light but you can jazz it up with their aromatic hot sauce that isn't very spicy. Hand-pulled noodles are thick & bouncy while the bowl portions are a fair size. Their burgers are surprisingly tasty with Asian seasoned beef patty, onion crisp and a slab of processed cheese. The restaurant interior is brightly lit with many promo signages and fits a decent number of tables to accommodate close to 40 guests. Just like their busy downtown location, you can see the action in the back kitchen where the noodles and buns are being steamed and fried. This place accepts credit card and there is no cash discount. Service is quick and friendly for casual dining, promptly serving and clearing your dishes. Skip it or hit it? It's a good meal spot to hit up if you're looking for affordable noodles & bites.

Honey black pepper wings were pretty good: crispy, fresh & juicy. The sauce was sparse & not evenly applied, though. Honey cheese wings were pretty good. The taste was less cloying than Korean cheese powder. There seemed to be no honey though. Scallion pancake was pretty good: slightly dry but flavourful. Fresh pork pan fried buns were good: fluffy yet crispy. Mom's beef burger was not big. The patty was a bit dry. The bun was tasty & fluffy. The honey mustard was pretty nice & there were crispy strips. It was decent & cheap. Tomato noodle with pork chop was decent. The other dishes are better. Red bean pumpkin pie was decent: quite crispy. Rice cake with brown sugar was decent. Sweet soy milk was pretty good but quite sweet.

I'm glad Ai Taiker finally opened in Newmarket because I've always enjoyed their other locations,…read moreand having one closer is such a win. This spot is super clean, bright, and the staff were really friendly, they welcomed everyone in and the food came out hot and fresh, which I always appreciate. I ordered a bunch of my usual favourites to see if this location was consistent, and it definitely was. The fried chicken with seaweed flakes was the standout for me as always... super crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the seaweed flakes add that savoury umami flavour that reminds me of Taiwanese night market eats. The fried squid balls were bouncy with a nice light crisp, and the squid tentacles were tender but not rubbery at all, with a good salty crunch. However, though the batter was a little much to our liking, it didn't stop up from ordering every time LOL The New Orleans wings here were deep-fried and seasoned really well, honestly so good for dipping. I always get their Taiker hot mayo and house special garlic honey on the side. If you haven't tried their dips yet, then you gotta~ the hot mayo has the perfect kick, and the garlic honey is sweet, savoury, and a little addictive. The spicy tenders were another favourite! Crispy, juicy, and had a nice heat that builds without being too spicy. Perfect if you like a little kick without burning your mouth. For drinks, I got the wintermelon tea and pineapple juice for my mom. Both were refreshing and not overly sweet, which worked really well with all the fried food. The wintermelon is always my go-to when I want something light. Portions were generous, prices were fair, and everything tasted freshly made. Overall, Ai Taiker is such a great addition to Newmarket. If you're craving Taiwanese-style fried chicken, seafood snacks, or just want something crispy and satisfying, this spot is definitely worth checking out.

I was thrilled to learn about Grandma Loves You (GLY) opening its first location in the greater Toronto area. It's in York region in Aurora. Woo hoo! A few Yelp experiences at GLY's original location in Rosedale made me love the sandwiches and croissants. It has since moved its flagship location to Yonge and St. Clair, and has opened a few more locations. I have yet to visit the one near St. Lawrence Market. Someday, I'll get there. In the meantime, I had to visit this brand new location and made my way up here two Saturdays ago. Out of all their stores, parking here is the best. It's free. It's straightforward. It's easy and stress-free. There were a set of stairs to get you to and from this place. I was hoping that there was a ramp for those who need a wheelchair somewhere. I didn't see one. I got here at around 2 pm. It was pretty busy. My original plan was to dine in. It looked like I had do takeout. I had the most helpful, sweet woman behind the counter. I wanted a meatball sandwich, which is my favourite. I was rusty ordering it. She guided me through everything. You can get their sandwiches that are like subs in either a 6" or 12". I went with the latter. She said that there was a seat just behind me. There were more like lounge chairs. I was down nabbing a comfy chair. I also got a Diet Coke in a can. I needed something to wash everything down. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. She asked for my name and would call me when my order was ready. The best customer service occurred when this woman brought my sandwich to me. Wow! It was such a kind gesture. I thanked her and then tore through it. Oh, how I love the meatball sandwich! So many meatballs were packed into this sandwich. Each meatball was yummy and juicy, with the perfect amount of sauce. The lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cheese pulled everything together with the most perfect bread. The Diet Coke was in the fridge next to where I was sitting. I grabbed a can. It was cold and delightful. Before I left, I got a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie to go. Starbucks used to offer this cookie eons ago. I don't know why the franchise took it off the menu. It was awesome. Well, this cookie was delicious and make me forget about the Starbucks one. It was packed full of white chocolate and macadamia pieces. It was just under $4 after taxes, but so worth it. I used the washroom before I left. There is only one stall. It was clean. but expect to take turns using it when it's busy. I am glad that I finally visited this location. Welcome to York region and Aurora, GLY! I'll be back for more. (398)

I've never had mortadella before so I ordered the 4 Seasons as well as a hot dog. The hot dog is decent. The sausage is nicely grilled so it enhances that smoky flavor. The bun was a sesame bun but dry - just OK. Not sure it is worth the price or that I'd order it again. But when it comes to the sandwich, the ingredients were so fresh, the meat was delicious, the sauces were yummy, and it is overall composed really well. I'm a very saucy girl so it's slightly on the dry side for me, though. If I had to equate it to another well-known chain, I'd put this up there with Jersey Mike's, but perhaps with an edge because of the curated sauces and freshness. I love you too, Grandma!
