I tried adjusting the tightness of the Boas, different socks and repositioning the cleat. Nothing helped. I discovered a raised seam inside the shoe that was causing the irritation. I returned to Sourland Cycles to explain my problem. Sam reassured me that they would either give me a full refund or exchange the shoe. I was able to exchange the shoe for a Lake CX242. This is a somewhat more expensive shoe that was exchanged at no additional cost to me. It is a great shoe with which I am able to ride without any discomfort. Worked like a champ everyday. 2 weeks ago, 2 of my spokes broke, on the Tow Path. Did a search and "Pure Energy Cycling" had good ratings, so I called them up and asked how much would this be and how long would it take? The owner said $30 bucks and drop the rim off, we'll call you when its ready. Two days later I dropped it off, he tagged it and said it would be $60. I told him, I called 2 days ago and you said it was $30. He rephrased his statement, and said "the maximum" repair would $60. I said ok and dropped it off. A week passed, I checked Amazon and Walmart, they sell 36 stainless steel spokes kit for 15.99. I proceeded back to the store (prepared to pick it up if ready) and he indicated "We would call when its ready", I said "I wanted the rim back". He said ok and indicated, the "Sprocket it stripped". I said, there was nothing wrong with the sprocket and I only wanted the 2 spokes replaced. He gave me the rim, as I was walking out, I noticed few things different, I said "This is not my rim", it has a different decal and I didn't remember the hub being black. He said look at the tag, its yours. Got home and looked at our 2 bikes, all HUBs are brushed nickel and thicker. (see pics to verify), now I have my rear wheel with a black skinny hub and the wing nut that tightens the rim to the frame, is CHROME! Clearly this rim is not mine, but I think they took my Sprocket and HUB and replaced it with a bad one, that's why he mentioned "my sprocket is stripped". There are other terrific shops just south of Frenchtown in both New Hope (New Hope Cyclerly- Nick and his crew put a huge smile on my wife's face with her new Trek Hybrid. She is now a big fan) and in Lambertville (Pure Energy- AK and his crew are pros and know how put you on the right machine.) Even further south is Knapps Cycles in Lawrenceville NJ. My fault for not checking, but I put some of my trust to the bike shop for doing a pre-sale inspection... guess not. I've called 5 times now about getting the tube bag and Jennifer claims she mailed it 3 times. Every call is a new excuse. All I wanted was the bag that was supposed to come with the bike and the task seems too difficult for her. If you buy a bike here check it over extremely well before you leave because they have a book of excuses to use if anything is damaged or missing.
