Awesome brewery! All of the beers I tried, I liked. I would have to say my favorites were the Porter County and the Sugar House. The pale ale and the IPA were also good stuff. It's a small indoor area, but cozy. The staff is welcoming and some of them are the Brewers/owners. It was busy, but manageable. Hopefully I will get to try the Bashful at some point in my life. Nice place. However the service and ownership is poor. We had a group of people and we were having fun and goofing off. Right when we arrived the owner was not friendly. He didn't want our business. I admit we were a little loud but we were happy and having fun. We were not rude or acting ignorant. Instead of being happy to get our business he was awnry, cranky when taking our orders and money, and was rude when we were leaving. I let him know I would not come back and he could have cared less. An owner who doesn't have fun and owns an establishment that serves alcohol and doesn't know how to handle loud and happy customers does not deserve my business. It's always nice to have a craft brewery in your small town. It's even better when having a beer at the brewery has a bit of excitement along with it because you know that any beer you have is going to be great, as well as knowing that if you don't go there too often, you will be surprised by new things on tap. Sure, it's nice to have a favorite, but craft beer is an adventure, and trying new things is what I like so much about the hobby, as well as having favorite styles. These folks have been here for a year and were making good beer from the start. While there isn't a lot of seating, you have to remember the focus here is to make a good beer that you can enjoy. In a perfect world, you would have plenty of seating and the noise wouldn't carry. I do enjoy the fact there are no TVs here - I didn't come here to watch TV. I came to talk to other people who like beer, or just for a quick stop in to try a couple samples of something new. A really good assortment of ales here. Some good Belgian styles, well-made saisons, and one of the best porters (called Porter because of the town/county of the same name - BRILLIANT!) I've tasted. What I live for are the IPAs and pale ales. For beer fans whose friends don't like beer, they also serve a couple different kinds of cider, about 3-4 wine selections, and oh yeah, they also have about 4 Guest Taps that seem to me to try and be unique. Very good taste in other people's beer is shown here. I think I've heard they've made over a hundred different recipes; don't quote me on that, but it wouldn't surprise me. They usually have 8 or 9 different beers on tap. Pretty good for only making 31 gallon batches of each one.They are now serving wine, cider and have Guest Taps. I had such a blast here! My first beer was a chile infused beer. It had an unmistakable kick to it, burned going down. I enjoyed how different it was. I switched to a pale ale, which tasted good. The hungry inc truck was parked outside. They'll bring the food into you after you've placed your order. I want to like this place. The beer was pretty delicious and I am grateful for a restaurant with a full vegetarian menu near me. But the service was just so unfriendly. In fact, I downloaded this app to write this review-that's how uncomfortable I felt here. The owner was rude and seemed to be bothered to serve my boyfriend and I. After I ordered my food (I got the roasted cauliflower), the owner noticed I didn't eat much of the olive tapenade. He told me "you know if you didn't like the tapenade you could've just not ordered it" and rolled his eyes at me. It made me feel uncomfortable. This also happened on the same day my boyfriend lost a loved one. I know the owner would have no way of knowing this, but it definitely didn't help his day by any means. I don't know, maybe show some gratitude or respect for your patrons as a new small business? Won't be coming back. read more

Love love love this place! Revolving menu of small batch brews and a great flight deal to taste a variety. Do yourself a favor and order whatever is offered as the nitro pour -- although the Porter County Stout is my favorite -- and take a growler of something else to go. This is small space in a converted storage facility. It can get loud and there aren't enough seats for the growing crowds. The owners are just a couple of people that took a brewing hobby to the next level and seem to be a bit overwhelmed by their immediate success. No one went to hospitality school. Take a deep breath, wait your turn and engage them about the product. You won't be sorry. And if the Rolling Stone Baker pizza truck is parked outside, eat one or two. My friends and I have done some extensive traveling to tour Brewery so this is not going to be a slam review. It's honest based on several different visit at various times: 1. I have seen several reviews on the negative side due to the size. This is a brew house not a brewery, if you want a huge place go to miller or bud factory. 2. Yes, they ID everyone but it got to a annoying point. Was not busy, and they ID 2 people in our group for a second time. It was the second round and they had never left the table, not to mention they were also the oldest in the group. 3. On 3 different visits ( once just my wife and I, the other 2 we had a group) when we walked in we were ignored and made to feel very uncomfortable. Like the had their own group and friends, and we were outsider. Almost 10 minutes to get a beer and we were sitting next to the register. 4. On a good note, once we did start trying the beer they were GREAT. I really enjoyed 6 of the 8 beers that I tried. But that comes down to personal taste. I'm super disappointed! My brother and I ordered a flight wanting to sample their beers being first timers. We received 6 pours of decent size and I was happy with nearly all of them(hence 2 stars). So far so good! However-I was shocked when I got the bill and saw each flight was $16 EACH. I thought a normal flight cost was somewhere between $6-$9. I won't be back. Family Unfriendly Brewery! Don't patronize them. They have a disliking for kids and don't want you and your family here. I am from Colorado, and all the breweries love kids, dogs, the whole family. It's a great experience here. That's one of the great things about the craft beer culture. For Hunter's to claim they are a part of it is a farce. Was out on the patio with my almost two year old, and I wasn't drinking when I was told that they don't want kids and that we all had to leave. If Hunters truly wants to call themselves a craft brewery they should understand the culture they are a part of. If they don't like it then call yourselves a bar and put up w sign that you're not for families! read more

I completely disagree with the four-start reviews (and I think that they may be insiders). In my opinion, this place is a disaster. The beer all tastes the same. The location is a dirty warehouse building in the middle of nowhere. The floor is concrete and the furniture uncomfortable and industrial. They really do not serve food except for chips. (Sometimes a hot dog truck pulls up outside, but not every day.) The worst thing is the attitude of the people working there. They seem very cold and rude. Perhaps they would be nice to other beer snobs, but they treat everyone else with contempt. One of the staff members refused to serve my friend who has Parkinson's because he thought that she was stumbling a bit. She thought about explaining her situation, but the guy was so condescending, she gave up. read more

This is an out of the way place. Nondescript building. Not flashy. This is the type of place that lets their brew speak volumes for their craft. Some of the best beer you can find in Indiana. Like most small breweries, Hunter's has a few beers it does a really great job on and a few that are just OK. I think the Porter and Stout here are great but some of the IPA and pale ale selections aren't very balanced for my taste. People who love hoppy beers might think differently.
