    Skinny Dippers
    Michelle M.

We were seated in the bar section. They didn't even ask for my ID... how rude. Bahahahahaha! But this was a mistake because their bar wasn't quite open yet so our service was shotty. It was poorly lit and very dark. Also, the table was sticky. That could very well have been the cleaner they're using during this whole Covid thing but it definitely didn't scream CLEAN. Other than that the food was better than decent. We got the Skinny Dippers for an appetizer. My husband got the Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich and I got the Perch Sandwich. I asked for the fried rice instead of the fries and that was super salty, although my husband did enjoy it so it wasn't a total loss. All the food is reasonably priced and although our service was super slow she was sweet. Would I go back? Not by my suggestion. But if someone else REALLY wanted to then perhaps. #shrug

Ham and Cheese with parmesan truffle fries

My sister and I were ending a long day of sandy hiking trails and needed a last meal to fill our bellies before heading back to the hotel for a good night's sleep. This was on a short list of restaurants in the area that we were interested in trying and hadn't yet gotten to. The people here were absolutely lovely and service was good. We really wanted to make it to dessert, so we split a single meal... And behold! We had room for dessert! We shared the Ham and Cheese sandwich on a pretzel bun with parmesan truffle fries on the side. The sandwich was great. I would personally skip the truffle fries next time and just go with regular fries, because I don't think the cheese or truffle really added to it. We told them we'd be splitting the meal, and they brought an extra plate out with the meal without our asking. We had the Cookies and Ice Cream for dessert. The cookie was recently out of the oven and very yummy - it softened and melted the ice cream on top very nicely.

We were in Michigan City on a nice weekend day and everything was completely crowded so we kept driving to find a good spot for lunch. We were about to give up and get on the expressway in Chesterton when we saw a craft beer sign tucked away across the road from McDonalds, so we went. Not a lot of people there in the early afternoon, but we received good attention from the server and bartender. They had a burger and fries special so we split that and had a couple beers. The beer list was okay and the burger hit the spot.

The food is very flavorful and is of good quality. The fries are uniquely yummy or as the server referred to them as "best in the City." The prime rib sandwich and crab & shrimp plate was on point w/a side of garlic bread. Beers, a lot of options, we played it safe and went with our limited usuals elsewhere- Surly Furious & Foggy Géiser. Love the venue, they just need to enforce rules when your entire bar consists of COVID patients coughing!!

Crab cake served on a bed of rice with asparagus and half a dozen shrimp. Wonderful flavor!!!

Food was fantastic. Server was relatively new, but asked for help when she didn't know something.

Good food, large beer selection and excellent service. Unusual but good curly steak fries. What more could you ask for?

We ordered the Elote Pizza, and overall it was really good. It had a nice wood-fired crust that was probably the highlight of the meal. The only downside was that it came with a garlic aioli that was very heavy...there was so much on the pizza that it overpowered some of the other flavors. I think it would have been even better with a lighter hand. For drinks, I had one of their sour beers and my husband ordered an IPA. Both were good, but neither really stood out as anything particularly memorable. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was friendly and took good care of us. The layout of the brewery was a little unexpected. We walked into the main entrance, then the host brought us back outside and over to a separate building where the bar is located. It was a little confusing at first, but it ended up being a neat setup. The restaurant was clean, with a spacious dining room and a nice-looking patio. The only thing that kept this from being a higher rating was the value. It felt a little expensive for what we ordered, and while everything was solid, nothing really wowed us. Overall, I'm glad we stopped in, especially as a place to escape the heat for a while. If you're in the area and looking for a casual meal and a local beer, it's worth checking out...I just wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit again.

Sometimes you know you're in the right place before you even sit down…read more The smell that hit us when we walked into Lake Street Eats immediately made us look at each other and say, "Yep... we're eating here." It was our first visit, and the bartender quickly welcomed us, asked how we were enjoying the Bridgman area, and made us feel right at home. You could tell he genuinely enjoyed being there, joking with what seemed like several regulars seated around the bar. That kind of atmosphere is hard to fake. We started with the cheese curds, and I have one request for the owners: please bottle whatever dipping sauce comes with them. The portion was generous, and I'd give the cheese curds a solid 9/10 on the stretch meter, which I consider an important scientific measurement. We paired them with a local IPA and a Modelo while taking in the relaxed neighborhood vibe. Between the friendly staff, local décor, full bar, and laid-back atmosphere, it felt like one of those places where locals become regulars. The only minor downside was that it was pretty warm inside during our visit, but it was also a warm day outside, so it didn't take away from the experience. Next time we're in Bridgman, we'll be aiming for one of the outdoor tables. We'll definitely be back--and probably ordering those cheese curds again.

Dude seemed confused, or trying to play me. Had I been charged for it, I may have complained, but my Italian beef sandwich was delicious nonetheless!
