The food was great the service was great the waiter went over and beyond letting us sample different food I had a great experience

If you want a simple, homestyle, Southern breakfast or lunch Hunter's is the place. It's not fancy, and doesn't have fancy food but everything you get is amazing. Perfectly seasoned, always delicious. Breakfast has biscuits with your choice of meat or a nice breakfast plate. Lunch is your standard meat & 1/2/3 vegetables. If you're hungry, bring your appetite to this nice little hometown secret.

Being from Socal I'm not a soul food expert, but everyone I was with (all southerners) said it was legit. The chicken was amazing and I really liked the stricken (?). Be sure to get the lemonade and save room for the peach cobbler

Gets no better than this !!!

The food is generally good, but the dessert is too sweet. The staffs are nice and the environment is good.

The fried catfish is also delicious and so expertly prepared that you can crunch up the bones, fins, and tail like potato chips.

My friends and I ride our Harleys there (about 7 of us) whenever we get a chance. No matter what state you visit for BBQ, let me tell you that they have the best Brunswick stew on the planet - I swear!!! The BBQ sandwiches are piled high (enough for 2 sandwiches) and tastes wonderful - even without adding any extra sauce. The sauce is either medium or hot. (some say a 3rd one - sweet) Normally I don't do "hot" but this one is excellent and easy to tolerate the heat. (a little runny nose) The dinner plates run around $12.99 and up and come with 2 sides. Everyone loves their fries, which are actually thin cut potatoes perfectly cooked as crispy. The staff are always friendly and attentive. The place is always clean, including the bathroom. They have TVs you can watch, no music, and they serve beer - including IPA choices. I could go on and on but let me just suffice it to say - you will be so glad you found this place and will crave returning asap. Btw, they are now closed both Monday & Tuesday. (we go on Sunday am when they open at 11am)

Very disappointed they were extremely dry. We went later in the evening so I think they were over cooked. The other issue was the flies. We had 5-6 flies we were shooing the whole time we were eating, so that was not pleasant

If you like southern BBQ this is the place for you!…read more We went here during a recent camping trip to Indian Springs State Park near Flovilla, GA. This unassuming roadside place is just a few minutes away from the park on the road to Jackson, GA. The building has a rustic feel with 2 dining areas, 1 large nicer room in the back and a smaller plainer room near the front door. We sat in the smaller room which was clean as the staff was on the spot to clear whenever anyone left. We both got the Deluxe plate with contained shredded pork, a cup of Brunswick stew, Cole slaw, 2 slices of white bread, saltine crackers and a pickle. We also had iced tea. You order at the counter and take a seat. The staff was friendly and helpful in describing the choices. Our total bill was about $28. The pork was really good with the house sauce. The green deeet slaw was also really good, especially when place on top of the pork. The stew was good, this was the type in which most ingredients were puréed so most veggies in it were not visible. They had several desserts available but we did not try any. This place was out of the way but I think they have another location in Macon. All I know is that if I am anywhere near either I'm going back!

If you're looking for the kind of old-school Georgia barbecue joint that feels like it's been doing…read morethings the right way for generations, Fresh Air Bar-B-Que in Jackson is exactly that place. From the moment you pull up, you can tell this is a true classic. The building has that authentic roadside BBQ feel, simple and unpretentious, the kind of place where the focus has always been on the food rather than flashy décor. The pulled pork is the star of the show. It's chopped the traditional Georgia way and served piled high with their signature sauce mixed in. The pork is tender, smoky, and full of flavor without being overly heavy. The sauce adds a tangy, slightly sweet balance that works perfectly with the meat. It's the kind of barbecue that doesn't need anything fancy--just a fork and a few bites to understand why this place has such a loyal following. Another standout is the Brunswick stew, which is exactly what you hope for at a historic Georgia BBQ spot. Thick, hearty, and packed with flavor, it's loaded with a rich tomato base, tender meat, and vegetables that have clearly been simmering together for hours. Every spoonful tastes like a recipe that's been perfected over decades. If you come here and don't try the Brunswick stew, you're missing a big part of what makes this place special. The sides keep that traditional Southern BBQ theme going as well. The slaw is cool and creamy, the pickle adds that perfect bite to cut through the richness of the pork, and the simple slice of bread ties the whole plate together the way classic barbecue plates always have. Fresh Air Bar-B-Que is the kind of place that reminds you why roadside BBQ joints became legendary in the South. No gimmicks, no frills--just great pulled pork, outstanding Brunswick stew, and a tradition that's clearly been preserved over time. If you're anywhere near Jackson, Georgia, it's absolutely worth the stop.

I mean you can't talk about the Brickery without at least mentioning the pizza gets cooked in the brick oven. We have always had a gorgeous crust on our pizza and Strombolis with that tasty brick oven char. Over the years, I have tried the pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and salads. The pizza and pasta are made in house and the portions for the pasta are quite big so I always have leftovers. My family always gets a Stromboli to share (a pretty good size for 2 adults and a small child), but I also enjoy the lasagne as well as the meatballs. Our toddler loves the meatballs, and we share those as a meal occasionally since they are a great size and a great price (appetizer). My husband really likes the french dip sandwich and I like the Swiss melt. I really don't mean to be "that person" because ... it's a salad .... BUT... the Caesar salad is so good and the size of the salad is big. Always crispy and refreshing with an appropriate amount of dressing! Not too much and not skimpy. We have ordered online and appreciate that you can always customize whatever you order and add different meats, sauces, and toppings. We usually add meatballs to our Stromboli.
