You cannot get better than Luke @ Hunters Insulation. Professional, knowledgeable and very thorough in his assessment. He gave an honest and accurate estimate with very competitive pricing. On project day, he and his co-worker were promptly and fully prepared. They worked efficiently and quickly. No smell, no dust, it wasn't even very loud :) When completed, everything was cleaned up perfectly! (I think my floor was cleaner than before he started LOL) Luke took all the before and after pictures and even filled out the paperwork for the rebates for us. The only thing he didn't do was lick the stamp. Can't get better than that! Now, for the insulation - I'm so glad it was done. We noticed a difference the very next day. The AC is not on nearly as much as it was prior. We'll see how it goes later in summer but, with what we've experienced so far, I expect to see a difference in my electric bill. I called 3 companies to come to give me an estimate as i like to do my due dilligence. They all seemed fairly professional but Luke was by far the most thorough and generous with his time when it came to answering questions I had. I couldn't give a higher recommendation for a Insulation Contractor than Hunter's Insulation located out of Granada Hills, CA. Working with Luke was an absolute pleasure! He was personable, knowledgeable, and very professional and respectful of property! We needed to have the old (cellulose)-insulation replaced (from the 80's) and have new insulation installed. I had to choose which type of Insulation would be best for my property and learn about the differences/benefits/between the fiberglass -Batt (roll out) insulation and Cellulose-(blown in), insulation. When I first called Luke (the owner), at Hunter's Insulation, to schedule a free quote, Luke was very professional and thoroughly knowledgeable about the differences between the two insulation choices as I asked specific questions between the two types of insulation that are used in residential homes, he corrected me on some assumptions and went on to clearly explain the differences. After having Luke come out to my property and take a look at the attic, measure, and discuss a few aspects about the work, I did a little research of my own and found Luke's answers to all my questions were very accurate, honest, and extremely helpful in helping me to understand and make an educated decision on which choice would give my attic maximum insulation efficiency for both summer and winter temperatures. One of the best points in hiring Luke's -"Hunter's Insulation" to do the work, which included disinfecting any damaged or moldy areas, to include removal, rodent proofing, preparation and protection and finally the installation of new "Applegate Blown-in Cellulose R-38 Insulation), was that Luke does the work himself with one employee to do the job. It was a two-day job, one day for vacuuming up all the old cellulose insulation, and one day for Disinfecting/Rodent proofing and blowing in new insulation with clear measured markers installed throughout the attic indicating the proper level at which the cellulose insulation should be at for correct insulation of the attic. In addition to the insulation work, for a small additional cost, Luke also helped me to fix (re-hang) some improperly hung HVAC ductwork and also helped me to clean and reseal some old ductwork with new foil tape to aid in air flow efficiency with the HVAC system. Luke was great to work with and I would say his business "Hunter's Insulation" is a rare find and probably the best insulation contractor working out here in Southern CA. We like that Luke oversaw the work the entire time, whereas other companies we quoted hire subcontractors. Reasonable price and efficient work with cleaning out the old attic insulation and blowing in new insulation. This is my second time going with Hunter's insulation (wall insulation last time) and like last time, Luke was easy to work with and his knowledge of home construction helped explain the idiosyncrasies in properly insulating an attic. His services include rodent entry sealing, air sealing (into the walls), and attic sanitation. The end result is a very uniform and highly insulated attic. A note about the pictures: the thermal image shows the partially insulated attic on an 80 degree day (purple is room temp, yellow is about 30 degrees hotter), and the HVAC graphs show how on a warmer morning with no insulation I was using more heat than on a cooler morning with insulation installed (green = outdoor temp, white = indoor temp, orange = temp setting). read more

Luke came out quickly and inspected the entire house due to a rat problem I had. I had old original 1940's insulation and blown in from 1999, all which was a mess after a new roof was done years ago. Luke and his team communicated extremely well and often. They were very clean and set up barriers as to not expose the entire house to dust, etc with the removal and new install. They sealed all areas that air could leak out and put up wire mesh in all areas any critter could enter leaving it extremely well sealed. On Easter Sunday a 10 ft section of old fiberglass insulation batt in the garage ceiling joists fell down and was leaning up against my car. We hired Hunters Insulation for our home since our AC was running non stop during the summer. Luke showed up on time both for the estimate and again on the day the work was to be done. I really liked the fact the Luke is both the Owner of the company and does the work himself too. I knew that the person doing the estimate is the same person that will do the work and made feel good that Hunters would do a great job. They made sure to protect the entrance to the attic and the floors with drop cloth and a tarp. We hired Hunter's Insulation to do blow-in insulation in our attic. They did a great job, and even created a kind of sealed off tunnel from the front door to the attic access to avoid getting dust in the house. I have uninsulated cathedral ceilings that make my place really hot and uncomfortable. A few people told me that they couldn't do anything about the insulation and I should just live with it. Until I found Luke. He was very responsive: he came right away, saw my house, and told me what he could do to help me out. We recently had our home done by Hunters Insulation. Right off the bat Luke was very professional and gave me a good feeling about him and the company. They came and did the work on a Saturday morning and were done before lunch time. We have an older house that always got really hot in the summer and seemed to always be really cold in the winter. The insulation made a big difference. Our house now stays much more comfortable on cold nights and hot days. We have to use noticeably less heating and air than before. What surprised me is that the results were noticeable the same day. I also appreciated Luke's honesty and the fact that because we really didn't need to remove our insulation we saved money by going with him. We had another contractor quote us on removing the insulation. After doing my own research and speaking with Luke, I found that I didn't need it removed. And his prices were very competitive.
