Shawn is a friggin' super hero! So my wife and I just bought a $1.25 million dollar flip house in LA. I think this house sat vacant for a while. Everything looks great until you move in and find the surprises. I needed to run some network cable through the attic and up until this point had never climbed up there. Or even peeked up there to be honest. The inspection report said "some evidence of rodents". We hired an exterminator who tented for termites and put bait stations down. We thought we were good. So I climbed up the ladder and OMG. I think our house was more insulated with rat turds than insulation! Disgusted, I came down and told my wife, "Whatever projects we have budgeted... they are on hold." I found Shawn's promo mailer a day later and we called him up. Shawn came out the next day to look everything over and give us an estimate. He inspected all sections of the attic and then the entire house for access points. He discussed everything that he planned to do and gave us some additional options. Everything sounded fair and we greenlit his team to come out and do their thing. The plan was to vacuum out the whole attic and remove the filth. Then sanitize and seal up all the access points. There were a lot of them! Then install two attic fans at opposing ends of the ranch style home attic for air exchange (one of them he threw in for free) and the final step was installing all new 12" insulation batts. It was a fun day of working from home when Shawn and his awesome crew showed up. They isolated the attic access and put up plastic sheets to protect our interior. Everything was vacuumed out through a hose leading out the front door. It was impressive how all that nastiness was so well contained. It didn't end up all over the inside of our house or our front yard. After they had removed all the filth Shawn recommended new ducts to replace our old fiber glass tubes. He illustrated how degraded they were by simply blowing through the duct and you could see the fiber glass particles easily comes loose from the duct. "You're breathing that" he said. Done. Sold. He worked with us on a good fair price and added it to the list. Job so very well done! Best money I've ever spent on any home. Knowing our attic is so clean and efficient makes me so happy. The efficiency and saving on our electric bill alone. But really it's for health reasons we're so satisfied. Who could feel comfortable living under all that mess?
