I have waited all summer to write this because I wanted it to be as un-emotional & succinct as possible. My kids attended 2 years of Montessori here. They loved the teachers but left for summer with very little support for the upcoming school year. Granted, one year was complex with COVID but there is no excuse to conduct a teaching environment if you're not following the Montessori method and actually teaching. I feel so sad for the teachers. They all mean well & love their students. However this place has had multiple admins turnover in a matter of 2 years, and teachers came & went just as easily. Unfortunately this was evident when multiple parents came together towards the end of the year and realized their kids (8-10) year olds still could not read at their grade level. This same group of parents spent their summer paying alternative schools (Kumon is who I hired) to supplement everything these kids had missed. Mind you, my son was complex and has not done well in any school due to a minor disability, however this wasn't just my son who required remedial tutoring & this review isn't solely based on my son's issues. They weren't proactive in helping me with educational resources , I had to get a 504 plan from a local elementary school, which he didn't even attend but they were willing to take me through the process. Along with charging a ridiculous amount of monthly tuition, they also had so many extra days off throughout the year...then charged extra for those care days if you were a working parent! I'm not talking holidays and 2 teacher work days. I'm talking once every month or two for no apparent reason, it was not on schedule with public schools many days they took off. They didn't pro rate, instead they charge you to "care" for, not teach your kids on those days off . the last month of school, also didn't prorate so you pay a month, get 21 days & then they charge you extra to help care for your kid the rest of the month! They also increased their tuition intermittently, I was paying approximately $1400+ per child. I'm telling you, this place will charge you & then send your kids home with subpar education to succeed thereafter. I am forever weary of Montessori going forward & have opted for charter.

When parents spoke up, the staff retaliated against the students by taking away most of their privileges and cancelling all school events. Police have been present on the campus twice this year. My child, who has always been an A student, came home crying because his teacher led him to believe he is an F student. When I met with his teachers and principal, I found her story to lack any evidence and my son brought home all A's a few weeks later. I truly believe that the teacher was just being nasty. The principal and assistant supported this behavior from the teacher. I'm also shocked at the lack of education level of the faculty. There are very few times when there aren't spelling or grammar errors in what they distribute. My son has brought home reading materials with a set of questions for him to answer that didn't match the material. For the sake of the children in the Palm Harbor community that could benefit from a good private school, I hope there is a change in staff. This is not an inexpensive school by any means, I would not recommend considering this school at all.

Her dad put her in BB to fix her autism and ADHD (news flash you can't fix that with moving your head around and squeezing a ball. (COMMON SENSE..)). Anyways you have to do exercises everyday with your parents watching you (stressful af). And when you go into the center the parents can't go with (THANK GOD) and that is because they literally give you the meanest looks if you do one thing wrong and make it obvious if you have done something (targeted). I would NEVER in my life ever force someone to go through this torture. Another thing that happens was with a little boy who had Toruttes and he was having a tic attack and the person who was supposed to help him was screaming about what "the f(not going to type it) is wrong with him. Is he f(not going to say it 2x) possessed by satan" KEEP IN MIND THERE WERE 7 YR OLDS IN THE ROOM AND THE KID WAS 5. They promised to fix me yet my depression is worse, anxiety is through the roof, still can't stop ticing, and my self-destructive thoughts are even worse. What was especially concerning was that she took it upon herself to diagnose my child as autistic based on her "20+ years of experience." I found this extremely inappropriate and unprofessional, as she is not a licensed medical professional and should not be labeling children in this way. As a parent, I was hoping for compassion, patience, and partnership in helping my child grow, especially since this was his first time attending daycare and he needed to adjust to social interactions. Instead, I left feeling judged and disheartened. I would not recommend Oak Crest Preschool to families who value inclusivity, empathy, and professional boundaries. I paid $225 for the registration and curriculum fee non-refundable, which I worked hard to afford, yet it was clear that the curriculum was never applied to support my child. After only 1 day, my child was judged without a fair chance.

Plus the whole time she was in the program I received 0 pictures of her and the activities feed update was really bad and delay all the time. Management helped ease the transition both as a staff member and as a parent. Which I am highly appreciative of because being happy in my work place and knowing that my daughter is safe and happy where she spends her day is extremely important to me. My daughter recently turned 2 and they have been working on potty training with her which helps the transition into potty training at home as well. Her language has also developed quite a bit in the last few months she's coming home singing songs from circle and talking about things she's learned that day (we have been getting a daily sheet showing us what curriculum has been covered each day which her dad and I find helpful with knowing exactly what she is doing each day.) Her dad and I both have the parent app and it's nice to see pictures and updates on her potty training, snack, lunch, and nap so we know how her day is going! Ms. Shelia and Ms. Bri, whom oversee the daycare and programs, are truly some of the most authentic and kindest souls I've ever encountered. They are all one big family and the smiles they bring to my daughter's face is something I will be forever grateful for. My toddler loves going to school and has brought home so many creative and special art projects and meaningful gifts for momma and daddy on certain holidays . They bring in Santa / the Easter bunny , and provide so many unique and valuable experiences as well as life lessons to all of the kids throughout the different age groups and programs. I recently enrolled my daughter into Daycare at St Pete Prep Learning Center in St. Petetsburg. The first day, as the front office assistant walked my daughter & i to her class, i witnessed someone else's child (approx. 3 y/o girl) sitting on the bathroom with a bare bottom & her clothes scattered on the floor. I thought it to be a tad odd but didn't say anything. I sat down with my daughter & her class so she could feel comfortable before i left. After about 15-20 minutes or so she was comfortable and i left. Welll, as i walked out i couldn't help but notice the little girl was STILL sitting on her bare bottom on the bathroom floor. Again, it was my daughters first day, i didnt want to be "that parent", the annoying one that comments on everything. So i didn't Say anything. The next day when i walked into the classroom to pick my daughter up, she was in the corner crying by herself with snot all over her face. Which tells me she had been crying for a bit. I ask the teacher what's wrong, i didn't get a straight answer. I ask again & im told she had a few diarrhea diapers & as a result had diaper rash. She stated she applied Vaseline. So i immediately put my daughter on the changing table to see because shes never reacted that way. The rash was bad enough that someone should've called me. & not just because of how the rash looked but because of how my child was acting. In addition, i should've received a call due to the diarrhea they claimed She had. She clearly was in alot of pain & didn't want to sit down because of it let alone have a diaper on. But yet when i walked in, she was sitting. No one thought to even hold my daughter, console her, let her know its going to be okay. Or thought to call me? They should've called me. Who knows how long my baby had to sit on pain. Or continue to ge her butt wiped even though she's in pain to the point of tears! That night she couldn't even wear a diaper to bed, she literally cried herself to sleep with no diaper. And she slept on a towel. I understand kids get diaper rash & it can get severe, that's overstood. My problem is i wasnt notified. I don't understand how they can be in business. How could i possibly experience this much nonesense & licensing violations in just TWO DAYS? Long story short, i reported the daycare to daycare licensing & they will be investigated. But more so, i wish i knew the mother of the little girl that was sitting on the floor. In addition, i wrote a review on the daycare's Facebook page and in response they stated "i would definitely question this persons credibility. Follow this link & Check out her arrest record. REALLY?? What kind of parent is this?" & then posted a link to a records site showing my arrest for possession of marijuana.
