I went for a tour and realized quite quickly that the school wasn't for us for pretty strong reasons. Safety being the main one. There's a HUGE opening where the overpass meets the backyard okay area where anyone either juman or animal, can access the school. All I could imagine was a homeless person or something climbing down into the yard mid day. Like how is that not addressed? How do people have their kids there with this gaping safety hazard? It's crazy to me. Then the school didn't seem clean. The yard play area is a hunch of dead leaves and dirt not even like play dirt just dirt. The tricycles were old and rusty looking. It just did not at all feel cared for or secure which in this day in age? Security and safety is paramount. read more

We have had the most wonderful experience here with our son (started here at age 2, now turning 4). He loves going to school, he is cared for and nurtured and we see him learning and growing! The hours are also great for working parents. We appreciate all the extra activities Huntley offers too, like karate and art class! read more

Are you on the waitlist somewhere that sounds like a spot will open up in 2028? Been there! Did that! I found Huntley a year ago while I was in this ridiculous cycle of stress, visiting schools that had huge wait lists, terrible drop off parking on congested corners, limited hours and $$$$ tuition rates. You there right now? Read on.. I walked in to meet with Miss Maria and was immediately at ease. The place is super clean, the AC was so comfortable..it took me a minute to realize how badly the school I just toured an hour earlier smelled. I was considering putting my son on that schools' wait list for a non-refundable $75 fee.. for summer 2018! At Huntley, we talked at great lengths about my son and then I just started tearing up, like a tired, stressed human who is doing the best she can. Miss Maria and I definitely bonded deeper in that moment than just a parent/director meeting. She is incredibly caring, thoughtful and I was so grateful to find her and Huntley that day. We started in the Fall of 2017. In the four months we attended Huntley, 3 full days a week, we watched our son blossom. Miss Keisha, LJ and Miss Maria have made a wonderful environment for the kids. The activities, celebrating the holidays, invited guests and programs, etc. Our son learned to follow directions and transition from one activity to another. He was cared for affectionately every minute he was in school, given such praise and love. I am forever grateful to this school, even though we attended just a short while, Huntley will always be the best decision we ever made. read more

We love Huntley preschool! My 4 year old just graduated. He was at Huntley for 2 years and now my 22-month-old is there. They are very communicative, listen when you have concerns, and really work with you to find solutions that work for your individual child. It's always so nerve-wracking starting your kid in preschool when all they have known is home-life. I was so nervous when my youngest started, but I walked in early one day and saw them lovingly rocking him to sleep in their arms at nap time. They have a great outdoor space and a huge, covered sandbox. They organize fun activities that allow for hands-on, child-led exploration of shapes, colors, numbers, etc. and all kinds of creative materials. I love that it is a small, family-operated school because I have been able to establish a relationship with the owners and staff. Drop off and pickup times are flexible, and the hours are way longer than most other schools offer. read more

Huntley Preschool has become our second home and the teachers have become our second family. There is so much love and care in this small, yet mighty preschool and we are so grateful to have found it two years ago. My soon-to-be 5 year old graduates in a few months from Huntley and I'm already missing Ms. Maria. She is nurturing, kind, and a fantastic listener. When my little one needed extra support, she happily accommodated her needs and then some! Her tailored approach to every child shows how much she truly enjoys her job and working with children. I have heard about Huntley Preschool from 3 different groups of moms with different demographic locations in LA. Most important points I have learned about this school were that children learn how to be good human beings in the first place with lots of compassion and love. What can be more important than that right? In addition they have a number of activities for children including: karate, music, math, science, cooking and dancing to name a few. So no driving after school for an extra class is what's exciting for me! My first born loved his teachers and the director of school Maria from the moment he met them. She's on the level, always one phone call or text message away, and a constant source of invaluable insights, fun and peace of mind (for parents and kids). I'm the mother of a 3 1/2 YO in Los Feliz. Due to some unfortunate financial circumstances, I was late getting into the preschool game. All of the "names" I pursued, (JCC, All Children, Camelot, etc.) were either full or I didn't have to pedigree to be considered. I was afraid it was looking like any school that would take her would be a school I wouldn't want her to attend. I WAS WRONG! From the first interaction I had with Ms.Maria, I was so impressed I was almost suspicious. The other schools all had two - three week waiting periods just to visit! She gave me some hours that wouldn't work because of the children's schedule, nap time and all, and then it was up to me. The space is cozy but well appointed and spotless. Indoor play/ nap area, indoor study space, separate indoor art space, two outdoor play spaces and two outdoor study/lunch spaces. It is curriculum based, but it feels genuinely play-based, without the tantrums and emotional drama I witnessed elsewhere. Rules are explained and gently reinforced and the result is not a bunch of kids kept down by Da Man, but rather a kind, focused and imaginative group of people. Little people. The best thing has been the change in my daughter. She is still strong-willed and independent, but she communicates with her words rather than her temper (mostly) now. She has learned empathy. Her listening skills have vastly improved and she makes requests rather than demands. Oh! And she's potty trained. Yeah.... All of this and I truly feel both Maria and Ashley know her and love her just as she is. Go now, before this gem of a place ends up on the latest preschool "list". Because it will. read more

She started going there at 2 years old and is now 4. It is scary to send your young child to a new place, but Ms. Maria treats each child as if they were her own. She has a 'mama bear' quality ew love. Since starting, our daughter has grown her language skills 10x, while learning new skills like writing, spelling, basic math, and more. They set up such an inclusive environment that really mixes up learning and - as important if not more so - imaginative play. This school ROCKS! So happy to have found it and Ms Maria. We had been searching for schools for our daughter and having great difficultly. My wife had found one and they "auditioned" our daughter, but didn't accept her. Needless to say my wife was upset. Starting our search again, I came across the Huntley Preschool. The FIRST thing that I appreciated was I didn't have to wait a month just to visit the school. Secondly, that they are an academic based program. Unlike the other schools ( and the one which shall not be named) they were little too play based. It was important for us that our daughter be well prepared for elementary school. Not that we wanted a military school, but something that had a great combination of fun and focus curriculum. With the Huntley School we found a that perfect balance. Third, The director Ms. Maria is truly wonderful. My wife still thinks she is Mary Poppins. There is a genuine caring for our child's education and growth. The other teacher there Ms. Ashley is this calm caring person. She leads each student in the most wonderful way. Both are inspiring guides in our daughter's life and education. We watch in amazement, not only how our daughter responds to them, but ALL of the children. Huntley is a well thought out, well lead and well appreciated school. The Huntley we attend is the Valley one. They have several others as well. We do not live in the Valley, but this is the closest to us and we believe that our daughter is getting the best education and prep for elementary school, that it is worth the drive. Our son has been attending Huntley Preschool on Broadlawn for a year and a half. He has grown so much, learned so much and played a whole lot! He LOVES going to school and that, for us is the best feeling. Huntley has an extended schedule 8:30-5:30 and for working parents it makes our schedules easier to manage. Maria and Ashley, Director and teacher respectively, are loving, nurturing and dedicated to the kids' intellectual and emotional growth and happiness. They have an open door policy and always take the time to fill us in at the end of the day about how our son did that day in school. I can't say enough good things about this school. I am the mother of a 4 year old,who just recently moved to Los Angeles from Seattle, WA. By a lot of luck, this happened to be the preschool that was nearest where we lived, so I figured I would schedule some "walk throughs" at other preschools before seeing Huntley. After touring two other "trendy" Hollywood preschools, I finally arrived here. Maria who is the director is just GREAT! She had my son and I come in, during the school's weekly Karate class and allowed my son to participate while she walked me around and what not. Not only was I sold, I just felt comfortable. My son is on his second week now, and he won't stop talking about how much he loves school. They offer different classes as add-ons to the tuition, which are completely worth it, the place is spotless, there is a giant sand-box, the teachers and director are easy to talk too and GREAT with the kids. You walk in there, and you can just notice that the children love being there, and are given so much room to be themselves. I highly recommend you check this place out. You can't beat the sense of comfort you feel when dropping off your child as you head to work.. The women who work here, are just great. They are so kind, loving and just fun with the kids. One of my biggest fears when moving down here was finding my son a school not knowing anyone, or having recommendations from people who knew the area better than me.. I truly consider myself lucky for finding this school, and getting my son enrolled just as some children had graduated and opened up room. They have made the transition so easy for us, and knowing that my son wakes up everyday excited about going to school if so comforting to me. Check this place out! You will not regret it. read more

so we went here for two months before christmas took a break for the holidays as we are by coastal my family is on east coast so. after returning back i called to put her back in this school Abigail said they were full. so i had a friend call and ask for opening.. guess what shad Abigail told her we have an opening.. she told me that bc of covid protocol they were full of and couldn't take no more kids. so do what u want with this information.. she seems phony maybe racist i wouldn't suggest! period. read more

This school is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend. It's everything that you want and nothing that you don't with nice children and families. The director Maria has put her personal stamp on the place and it really shows in a good way. Maria brings an outside teachers and facilitators to provide classes like science, cooking, dance, karate, etc. and then there are the parties! Lots of parties! My daughter has been going to the school for only a couple of months, but so far, it's been a GREAT experience. We live in the neighborhood, so its not only convenient but it's a very loving and safe environment for her and the rest of the kids. There are 2 classes as the school but the kids are often together for group activities like birthday parties, holiday celebrations or play time. Ms. Maria, the director, is VERY accessible and always responds to any question I have about my daughters progress. The place is clean, they help with potty training if needed, do crafts and offer extra activities (for extra cost) like Karate or My Gym. They do yoga on Fridays, which it seems the kids love. All the parents I've met have been very friendly and normal! Kids are well behaved and all seem to love it there. All in all, we're very happy there and highly recommend to anyone looking for a place in Studio City. read more

Two and a half years ago, my wife and I encountered a sudden dilemma: our two and a half year old daughter had been asked to leave the Sunset Montessori School on Tujunga (in Studio City) for the apparent crime of unlawfully removing her shoes on a daily basis -- she was not conforming to the strict order and rules of the Montessori world... and it was becoming a problem. In other words: she was acting like a two and a half year old. And the experience left our daughter's confidence very low. So, in short order, my wife hopped on the Internet and began researching other options, and that was when she found Huntley Preschool. When we went down for a tour, we instantly fell in love with the director, Ms. Maria, as well as the homey vibe of the school itself. But even that great first impression couldn't even begin to do justice to the way our daughter's confidence and personality blossomed and thrived in an environment that celebrated her individuality rather than punished her for it. Huntley has a strong educational ethic that's supported with activities and projects that build a true sense of kinship and community amongst the students -- it really is a sight to behold. Our daughter grew very close to the other children in her class -- so much so that it was an effort to drag her away at the end of the day. I can't tell you what a profound relief it was to find a place for her where she so naturally fit in. The entire staff, including Ms. Mary and Ms. Keisha, are all a pleasure and devoted to upholding the standards of the school. Our daughter started Kindergarten this week, and as she adjusts to this new environment, I can really see just how well Huntley prepared her for this next phase in her education, and for that I can't thank them enough. When the daycare center our daughter was going to suddenly closed down, there were 4 kids who didn't have an place to go and 8 parents who were freaking out. We lucked into finding Huntley and Maria made sure she got all of the kids in so they wouldn't be separated. Our daughter loves it there and has learned so much! Not only has she made new friends but so have my wife and I. I couldn't recommend this place any higher. Love the teachers, the kids and the other parents. Huntley rocks!! read more

My daughter recently graduated from Huntley after attending there for two years. What can I say?? This place is magical. If you're looking for a clean, safe, fun, educational, well-balanced, small, and just wonderful place to send your child to preschool, look no further. Ms Maria, Ms Keisha, and LJ are kind and loving teachers who truly care for the children who attend Huntley. The curriculum is a perfect balance of play and academics. Each birthday and holiday is a grand celebration, while the days in between are filled with music, dance, karate, yoga...again, magic. If you are a working parent, you need to check this school out! My daughter had just turned three when I enrolled her, and I chose the location based on its proximity to one of the major studios. There is a vast amount of outdoor space for them to exercise and get out their ya's-ya's. Great extra-curricular activities like soccer, karate, music and yoga made each day special and different. I toured one school who acted practically appalled that my daughter wasn't potty-trained at three, but at Broadlawn, Ms. Maria and Ms. Ashley were unfazed and said they'd get her going. And they did. We were pleasantly surprised to find such a sweet preschool nestled in our neighborhood. Maria, LJ and Keisha take a vested interest in the children and provide a warm, loving and nurturing environment. My son looked forward to each and every day at the school as there was always something to look forward to. For an additional fee, we signed my son up for cooking, science, dance and karate classes. It's a great, small school with a ton of stuff to keep the kiddos busy. I was very pleased with our Huntley experience. read more

My daughter is 4 now and has been attending since she was about 2 yrs old. Huntley in Studio City has a beautiful campus with a huge sandbox (protected from the sun), beautiful outside play area, little square, garden etc. The classrooms are adorable and always decorated with the beautiful artwork from the kids. However, what I like best is not all the wonderful amenities, but the fact that the kids are 'raised' and guided in a way that attunes them best to be good friends (all kids are 'best' friends in my daughter's class!) and being whole human beings in the social context of preschool. Discipline and warmth, friendships, and a whole lot of fun is what I witness every morning when I drop my daughter off. The teachers and Director have been with Huntley Studio City consistently for quite some time, which is a great asset ( lots of schools have staff that goes in and out). read more

My girlfriend's daughter has been attending Huntley for quite some time now and we couldn't be happier. The staff is very caring and friendly. There are a lot of fun learning activities that the kids participate in daily. Just the right class size to create a group atmosphere, yet still allow a lot of individual attention. A wonderful (and large) enclosed playground in the back and reasonable tuition. It is conveniently located off Cahuenga close to the 101, but is truly an oasis in the city.
