I've been bringing my dog here for a few years now, and overall it's been a bit of a roller coaster with some staff turnover over time. There were moments where I honestly considered going elsewhere, but I've continued coming back and a big reason for that is Jasmine. She has been consistently exceptional, and you can tell she really listens and cares. Just incredibly knowledgeable, patient with all of my questions (even when I have a lot of follow-ups), and has always taken the time to address any concerns I've had. She's made a huge difference in my experience here and is a big part of why I trust leaving my dog in their care. Also, Damaris and Katie deserve their flowers too! They also work at the front and are always welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. Their energy also leaves you confident in dropping your cub off and going about your day. Most handlers in the yard have also been wonderful from what I've seen. At the end of the day, this is the only place I fully trust with my dog. I feel confident he's safe here, and while I appreciate having cameras available, I don't feel the need to constantly check them, which says a lot. read more

It pains me to write this "needs improvement" review because we've trusted Bow Wow with our dog, Beef, for several years and, for a long time, had positive experiences. Unfortunately, over the past year, we've experienced several concerning issues. During one boarding stay, Beef returned home with an injured paw and what appeared to be a significant allergic reaction on his muzzle and face. We were not notified of either issue while he was in their care. Later, I began noticing problems with his feeding instructions. On multiple occasions, food was left behind when I picked him up, which is unusual for my dog. I initially assumed these were isolated incidents, but after reading Yelp and Google reviews, I realized many other customers were reporting similar concerns involving communication, feeding, and overall care. I was also troubled to learn through public reviews that a dog had escaped and was subsequently killed. As a pet parent, that information was alarming and raised questions about the safeguards in place to protect the dogs entrusted to the facility. To their credit, the facility now has a new manager and the district manager did eventually provide a detailed response to many of my concerns. However, one of the most consistent issues has been the lack of timely follow-up. In my experience, it often takes multiple calls, emails, or weeks of waiting to receive answers. I am hopeful that the operational changes currently being implemented lead to meaningful improvements. My goal in sharing this review is not to discourage others from using the facility, but to encourage greater transparency, communication, and accountability. As pet parents, we are trusting these facilities with members of our families, and we deserve confidence that our concerns will be addressed promptly and that strong safeguards are in place to keep our pets safe. read more

The handlers, and the front desk staff have made our experience so wonderful. We just put our lil guy in for his first long-term boarding, and we know he is loving care of the staff, who have become his friends! I really wanted to leave a good review. The first couple of times we took our girl to doggy daycare it was great. Then we boarded her last weekend. We checked the cameras on occasion to see how she was doing. Once, the second day in, we saw a larger doodle-type of dog attempt to mount her. It was quickly broken up, and I didn't think much of it. Then on her last day, we checked the cameras again. We witnessed the same dog and a second dog repeatedly chase her around and continue to violate her. She was obviously very distraught, and it was disturbing to watch. The entire time, the attendant was on his phone and was oblivious to what was going on. This occurred for at least an hour. Needless to say, I called and left a message stressing my concerns. I also followed up the next day via email. This was 5 days ago, and I never got a response back from them. At this point, I don't feel safe bringing Sophie back there. They failed to protect her from aggressive dogs. I've included one of our screenshots of the event. The first couple times we took our dog here for boarding were great. Then last weekend... Arrived at scheduled drop-off time (when they open at 9am on Sunday) and saw a big crowd outside. There was a printed note on the door simply stating that the lobby needed to be closed today due to unforeseen circumstances and the district manager's phone number. People were waiting to pick up their dogs, concerned no one was there. Others needed to drop off. We spoke to a scheduling person who was relaying messages but didn't know anything. Another customer let me know they had someone coming over on a bicycle soon. We left and decided to call back in an hour to see if they had worked it out, meanwhile frantically trying to make a backup plan for our trip. Called back and a nice employee answered and confirmed they could handle boarding drop-offs but no daycare due to staff shortage. We came back and dropped off our dog and left for our trip. Fastforward to... picking her up on Wednesday as scheduled. Everything seemed to be normal. She got her exit bath and we came to pick her up right after. Then, I checked her bag just to make sure everything was in there. To my surprise, everything was there, but so was half her food! Did they just NOT FEED HER? I pre-portion out her food since she gets a different quantity breakfast/lunch/dinner and label each bag accordingly. I only included 1 extra dinner in case we got back late Wednesday. So out of 11 meals provided, I was expecting to just see 1 dinner in there leftover. She was not given 1 breakfast, 1 dinner, and 3 lunches. So she ate 5 out of the 10 meals she should have. Since she takes her medication with lunch and some with dinner, I was left wondering if she also didn't get her meds... The staff member who checked me out said "they have been forgetting lunch lately in the back." Great. And dinner? And breakfast? This is unacceptable. She said she'd have the manager call me and I have yet to receive a call. What are we all paying for with dog boarding? Someone to feed our dogs, keep them safe and cared for. I suppose her getting half her meals means they did half their job. And apparently that's good enough for them. What else will they do a half-assed job at if they can't do this super basic job? How can I trust them again? How can anyone? Update: The manager did reach out shortly after I posted this review and assured me she is doing her best to fully investigate after taking over the team only a month ago. read more

I have had Keaton there many half days, full days and boarded him many times. He brings his little bed and stuffy. I added on 'cuddles and story time' which he loves. This place is understaffed. They recently lost a Huskie that jumped their fence and was killed on the nearby freeway. Completely irresponsible and careless. They need to create better secure fences that dogs, that are known escape artists, can't get through. When I toured the facility to board my 4 dogs, I felt the place was not secure enough and chose to leave them with my vet. I will never trust these boarding facilities. read more

I'm writing this to warn other dog owners: do NOT take your dog to Bow Wow Bungalow. What happened to my dog here was disturbing and traumatizing. I brought my rescue dog, Sisko, to their daycare, expecting a safe, playful environment. Instead, I only saw him on camera for about an hour before he disappeared. When I called, they casually told me that if a dog isn't visible, it's because they're locked in a cage for "rest time" from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. -- six hours trapped in a kennel during daycare. That's almost the entire day. Still, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and brought him back another day. Within minutes of checking the cameras, he was nowhere to be found again. When I called, the staff said my dog had been locked in a cage with another dog that isn't mine, because "he wanted to go in there." That's not only unsafe, it's reckless. My dog was severely abused in a cage before I rescued him, and being confined like that causes him panic and trauma. When I arrived to pick him up, the staff were aggressive, unprofessional, and visibly rough with the dogs. One of them actually said the other dog "had been pissing them off." They tried to charge me for a full day even though he'd been there under two hours -- spent locked up. Sisko came home trembling and traumatized. It's been over a week since I first asked to speak with the manager, and no one has ever called me back. That silence says everything about how little they care about the animals in their facility. Please -- don't risk your dog's safety. This place is not what it claims to be. What I saw and experienced here was beyond neglectful -- it was dangerous. read more

I'm deeply upset by my recent experience with Bow Wow Bungalow. I've been taking my dog Annie here for daycare, and just learned that every time she was there, they were keeping her caged all day because they said "she riles up the yard." Annie is an energetic puppy, not aggressive, and I would have completely understood if there had been biting or safety issues but that was not the case. What's worse, they never once contacted us to let us know this was happening. When I called to ask why I couldn't see Annie on the cameras, the staff told me she was out playing, which I now know was not true. This kind of dishonesty is unacceptable. The staff have consistently been rude, and communication is terrible. To make matters worse, I recently heard that a husky passed away here due to alleged negligence, which raises serious concerns about their safety standards. I would strongly advise pet owners to avoid this place if you care about your dog's wellbeing and safety. read more

After talking with additional pet parents who used this service, I found out that my experience is sadly not on common. It seem that staff has been walking out, calling out and quietly leaving. As one pet parent said to me after she talked to staff, management doesn't care, management is never on site, and management just advises them to bring it as many dogs as they can, regardless of how many staff are on site. I took my 70 lb, super shy dog here for the first time. I liked that I could watch him anytime on the cameras. I received a call giving me an update on how he was doing because it was his first time. It seems that the dogs are well supervised. He finally relaxed and was playing with some of the other dogs. I ended up speaking with the manager, who seemed nice enough. All she could say after reviewing the reports and texts was, I should have been called. Offered to pay for brain games. When I pick him up, I realize I am speaking with the person who was in charge of boarding (but also covering for receptionists break at that time), who told me they gave him a rinse just then because he would pee in his kennel after going to play. I also realize that the manager had not spoken with her. She had no idea I had already raised a complaint. Also, when I took him home I noticed he had yellow gook in his eyes. I took him to the vet the next day, he had an eye infection. I ask about it via text and they say it started Monday afternoon the day before. Again, no call. In the end, poor detailed communication, under staffed, lack of knowledge of handling puppies, and trust diminished. Doesn't matter to me how many times they said how cute and cuddly my puppy is. Glossy on the outside but no substance where it is needed - especially for this first-time puppy mama. read more

My dog loved bow wow. She had a great time playing during the week. We put her in to play with dogs because she loves to be social and to run. Dropped her off today to have her play for a half day. At 11 we checked the cameras and it was a ghost town. No dogs anymore anywhere. At 1130 we called got a phone service. Called at 1215 and talked with someone who said they were short staff and the dogs were kennel for staff break for 30 minutes it was more than 30 minutes. When we picked up out dog at 1245 there was only 2 staff. They were just letting smaller dogs out they are such short staffed the one person in the yard couldn't handle the 5 dogs out there. Watching on camera when I saw the lady had to pick up a small chiahuha from two smaller dogs to break up aggressive play. They don't have enough staff to handle everyone. I tookmy dog out over an hour early because I paid for play time not being stuck in a cage. read more

Best place for our dog. Her background is that she was in a South L.A. pound, then went to an animal rescue where we adopted her. We wanted to go away for 10 days on vacation but didn't want her to feel like she was going to the pound again. So a friend recommended Bow Wow Bungalow for our pampered doggie and she loved it! We did not have to feel guilty about leaving her because she had great care, lots of fun socializing and treats. And we could see her on the doggie cam when we were on the other side of the world. My dog doesn't typically do well in large groups of dogs . She seems to get overwhelmed . However the vibe at Bow Wow was much more her speed and she did fine. I like that there are cameras so I could check in on her during the day. The facility is clean . Plenty of street parking when dropping off or picking up. My only note to management is to staff the front desk on the weekend with two people. I picked my dog up on a Sunday morning. There were several pickups and drop offs at the same time. The young woman working the front desk was a bit overwhelmed but did the best she could. I highly recommend Bow Wow for both daycare and boarding. read more

I wish I could give BWB zero stars, honestly. The team there deteriorated each time the ownership changed hands. The final manager I dealt with there before I stopped going was so disrespectful and incompetent. I was told my dog was a problem and needed training and was pressured into buying a training packaged. When I brought him in for training, my dog laid down and refused to work with the trainer. Not because he was defiant but because he is a sweet, lazy boy. The trainer said my dog did not need training. I fought for and got a refund. Perhaps the issue is that they pack that place with far too many dogs at a time and the staff is not able to properly supervise them. But all it boils down to in the end is this: During his final stay there, my dog caught Kennel Cough. He became incredibly sick and nearly died. I cannot tell you what that time was like for me. AFTER he was sick, I received an email that the cough was going around and only THEN did they want to have people sign forms that basically absolved them of any responsibility. I've seen enough crusty old Karens throwing tantrums in the lobby of this place that I decided to come leave a review. I've been bringing my dog here for four years--for daycare about once a week, a bath once a month, and I've boarded him there a few times. I've never had a single problem. My dog has always been shy around people and other dogs, and he always greets the employees with excitement-- even the groomer, which, for perspective, I bathed him at home a few times and now he refuses to go near the bathroom. It's obvious he LOVES everybody there. He's caught a couple bugs there, but that's just the nature of doggy daycare. That being said, if you're here leaving a one star review for a reason other than somebody there kicked your dog, you probably need to direct your aggression somewhere other than the girls at the front desk. I saw a woman there today get snippy with one of them for saying "sorry" that her card got declined. That's a YOU problem, miss Karen. I once saw a woman say "I'm never bringing my dog here again!" Or something and storm out. Embarrassing! Was it worth it?? I tell you what, they're probably glad your ass is gone. How hard is it to be respectful of other humans?? You people disgust me. Anyway, everyone at the front desk has always been kind and helpful. Literally every interaction I've ever had with them has been easy. In fact, one time MY card got declined and Ariana (who I haven't seen there in a while :( ) told me I could just pay next time I was in. My one critique of this place: the lobby is so echo-y that it's really hard to hear anybody in there, even if they're standing right in front of me. Maybe you guys should get some of those noise-absorbing wall pads or something. BWB gets a 10/10 from me, and I hope all of the nasty people I've seen bringing their stank in here get therapy. read more
