I proposed to my wife at this restaurant before it was Butterfield,. I was excited to take her back for our Anniversary, but I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the reviews on here regarding the service. Let me tell you, the service was great! The food was fantastic. A small menu, but everything was prepared excellently. my wife had the cavatelli and thought it was amazing. the only thing that I wouldn't order again is the Pilsner Battered Cauliflower with a Chipotle Glaze. Not because its wasn't good, but simply because it was cauliflower and I am not a fan. It was prepared incredibly well though, and my wife enjoyed it. The Ambiance is cozy and intimate and we had a fantastic time. We will be back again. I would recommend updating the menu that is on the website as it was not in line with the menu at the table, but that is a minor inconvenience and makes sense as everything is farm to table and changes rapidly.

When we first walked in, we were like uh are we in the right place and are they open? I guess we booked one of the first reservations and were eating very early! There wasn't a single thing that was a let down on the menu. Everything we ordered was excellent. The kale salad was very good, and I would highly recommend ordering the cheese plate. Our waiter was awesome and even brought us a few extra crostinis. For my entree, I ordered the trout that came with snow peas and mushrooms. Mmmmmmm soooo good. The meal just kept getting better and better. For dessert I ordered a scoop of ice cream and the toffee pudding. Yum! We were staying in Poughkeepsie so Butterfield was a little out of the way, but I would drive back here in a heartbeat. It's that good. The one small complaint I had was that outside next to the road was a little loud. You can't fault the restaurant for that and you also can't beat the nice ambiance of being outdoors.

GET THE BURGER. It's the best burger I've had in a long time. Fresh and juicy. Everything was great.

Beautiful restaurant and the food Was great. We had thanksgiving dinner here. We all thought the food was wonderful. A few people didn't love the desserts because they want d more traditional pies etc nit and they were individual tarts. But they were delicious. The wine was good and decently priced. The service was kind but a little inexperienced but I am sure that everyone is hiring whoever they can as there is such a problem with restaurants finding staff. But we were very happy with our meal and in especially love the interior of the restaurant - very stylish

My boyfriend and I dined here twice while we were staying at Hasbrouck House. The staff was attentive and polite. The first night they were very quick, the 2nd night was a bit slower service due to it being a weekend. I started with a martini with bleu cheese olives. It was absolutely delicious and perfectly balanced. I ordered the paella which was an generous portion and tasted delicious. My boyfriend got the venison, which was delicious, but a small portion. For dessert we ended with a napoleon which was quite refreshing. Overall I would recommend this place if you are in the area!

My husband and I are staying in Hasbrouck House and the July 4 weekend. We had dinner at Butterfield on the 4th, the restaurant is located on the ground letter of the house - which is great - so that we can literally walk down the stairs from our room. Food is super fresh and very farm-to-table style. Service is great too! We requested for outdoor seating and our dinner time was 6:30pm - which is nice because we can still enjoy the sun and also not too hot! My husband ordered the chicken and I had the duck - as always, I liked his dish more!! lol - the chicken is incredibly crispy and moist and soft and fresh! Delicious!!!

Unbelievable meal at Butterfield. I'm not sure why this place does not have a higher rating. The food was superb, the ambiance was darling and the staff were spectacular. We sat outdoors and they had heat lamps which were perfect. You feel like you are in your best friend's backyard garden, in the best way. The inside decor is just as fabulous but didn't spend much time inside, because, COVID. But when this is all over, I can see how guests / diners would enjoy the little touches they have everywhere from the wallpaper to their carefully curated finishes. We started with Sancerre and Jungle Bird. The Sancerre was very, very good. They followed our drinks with complimentary bread which was a great way to start off the meal. We also had the cheese plate which was divine...the cheese was the perfect temperature and the crackers were delicious. We both had the celery leek soup which was very good followed by our entrees for which we ordered the scallops and lamb shank. The entrees were delicious and very rich. The flavor combinations are outstanding so hats off to the chef. We finished with the pudding and apple crumb because, well, we couldn't decide between the two. Wow, what a way to end the meal on a high note. If I would choose a dessert to have AGAIN it would be the apple crumb just because it is a tiny bit less sweet. Overall, unbelievable dining experience and would come back and back again!

    - Awesome meal with good portion sizes (Trio of Local Artisanal Cheese appetizer, the Maine Scallops and Sliced Dry Aged Sirloin entrees, and the Apple Crumb Tart for dessert) - Delicious wine and cocktails - Hospitable and friendly service - Great atmosphere under the current Covid-19 circumstances What more can you ask for? Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

So we FINALLY got around to using our gift card to Butterfield that I won from a very generous Yelp Hudson Valley Restaurant Week giveaway in *ahem* March. However, even though the gift card had been languishing in my wallet for a literal rainy day, I'm so glad we finally redeemed it tonight with what was an excellent meal at Butterfield! The restaurant is nestled inside the Hasbrouck House, which appears to be a high-end inn. It was pretty dark and stormy when we got here for dinner, so I didn't get a great look at the grounds, but there was ample outdoor patio seating, and an attached "carriage house" section of the hotel, which looked like a next-level Air BNB or something. Maybe we'll do a stay-cation in the future! I'm intrigued, to say the least. Butterfield is a cozy farm to table style joint that focuses on an ever-changing menu that showcases the bounty of local produce, game, and more. We got to try their Fall menu, which is limited but full of tasty options. I was a bit wary when we were coming here because of mixed reviews from other users, but our experience was good overall, and I would give them another visit! The atmosphere is decidedly romantic - it seems like everyone thought that Sunday night was perfect for date night, and the dining room was filled with couples. Candlelight tables, handsome wood detailing, and comfortable two-top tables make for nice surroundings that are very much worth the price tag! Each meal starts off with complimentary focaccia bread from the kitchen, served on a stone slab with some lava salt sprinkled butter. It was very tasty and we wanted more, but I also wish the bread was warm. At such a fancy restaurant, warm bread really would have started the meal off on an exceptional note. We enjoyed our drinks, though. I got a ginger mocktail, and my boyfriend tried the hard cider, which was a bit too dry for my taste, but he loved it. I was starving after our long drive, so I ended up also ordering a bowl of Cauliflower Gruyere Soup, which was creamy and comforting, and served with some crispy chickpeas on top to give it some much needed texture. Soon after, our entrees appeared: a fork-tender Short Rib with mashed potatoes and haricot vert, and a beautifully plated Magret Duck Breast with sautéed kale and farro salad and grilled pear. I really enjoyed the hearty meat n' potatoes dish, and the duck was also awesome (I did sneak a bite off my boyfriend's plate!) The real highlight of the meal was our dessert, though. The Butterscotch Pudding was a great end to our night, and provided a not-too-sweet finish to a stellar evening. The pudding was creamy and flavorful, and had a layer of fresh caramel and sea salt, topped with whipped creme fraiche. The best part was the caramel corn which garnished the dish. The plating was lovely, and will make for a great post for my food Instagram soon! I'm so glad we finally got a chance to dine here. The service was good for the most part - shoutout to the host for being warm and welcoming when we arrived. I will agree with some other reviewers that the meal did feel rushed at times, but we were pretty hungry, so I didn't exactly mind a whole lot. I look forward to coming back here later this winter to check out the bar menu (that burger looks rad), and the $35 pre-fixe menu they'll be rolling out on Sunday evenings! This is one of the best farm to table dining experiences I've had in New York, and I'm happy to have found a new favorite!

The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful, especially during the fall and winter. Sitting outside around the massive fire pit with a drink in hand is one of my favorite experiences. The restaurant itself is elegant yet cozy, and the entire property is stunning, with luxury cabins, a spa, and breathtaking surroundings that make it a perfect getaway--especially for visitors coming from New York City. The food is consistently outstanding. Every dish is beautifully prepared, the cocktails are excellent, and while the portions are on the gourmet side, the quality more than justifies the price. It is definitely a splurge for locals, but it's worth it for a special occasion or when you're looking for an exceptional dining experience. Even though they don't offer a kids' menu, it's never been an issue for us. My 6-year-old loves the food and actually asks to celebrate her birthday there, which says a lot! Parking is easy with a large lot and complimentary valet service, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for outstanding farm-to-table cuisine, beautiful scenery, and a memorable dining experience in the Hudson Valley, I highly recommend Clay at Wildflower Farms. It's a place we happily return to again and again.

So yeah as you can imagine this place is pricey and is definitely for a special occasion. On this visit we had exceptional service and they even brought us free caviar! I have seen them do this before. We had a girls night here one time and one of my friends got there early. As she waited they gave her a complimentary glass of champagne. This type of customer service is amazing and is what is expected of an establishment of this caliber. I mean a room at the hotel here will cost you about $1000 a night. So as you can guess it is not unusual to see celebrities here as well. Before I get into the food I will tell you what made me give them 3 stars. One morning I brought a friend here that was going through something. I wanted to treat her to a nice breakfast. We sat on there terrace by the fire pits. As I've said before I've been here often. The waiter who was not as friendly as I've had before told me in order to eat there I needed to put a card on file. Huh? I've never seen that before but okay sure. I mentioned how I would likely order something to go to for my husband at the end of our meal. The service was not great because they did not come back and when they finally did they swiped my card and gave me the final check. Huh? I never said I was finished and again I had already mentioned I wanted to order something to go. When I asked this new waitress ( the original guy was no where in sight) why they ran my card already because I specifically said I wanted to order something to go her nonchalant response was that she could just run it again. I've thought about that experience. It felt so off and I would have said something more at the time but again I was having breakfast with a friend who was going through something. Not the time to complain. So when I met someone who worked there at a diffrent event. I shared my experience and asked if this is a policy of there's to put a card on file to eat on the terrace. As you can guess it is not. Unfortunately, as you can imagine I felt discriminated against. I guess our waiter assumed I wouldn't pay my check and wanted to make sure he had my card and he swiped it as soon as he saw us take the last bites on our plates. After I talked to this employee I did write the restaurant to let them know of this experience and sadly I got no reply. I will say I have been back since then and did not get treated that way. But I felt like it's important to let others know. This is by no means a cheap restaurant especially in the economy! I would expect not to be made to feel the way I felt that day and would never want at one to feel that way. Benefit of the doubt maybe that waiter did have someone run out on his check in the past and wanted to ensure it did not happen again. I can understand that because I know some restaurants make the waiter pay for those walkouts, which is also not fair to them. It would have been nice though that when I contacted them about the situation they would have acknowledged what happened. And maybe just better training on how to go about the situation to make sure their customers don't feel like you assume they are criminals. Okay the food. First there French fries are a favorite. Random I know but I appreciate a good fry. The steak was cooked perfectly and the cocktails were got were a 10! I've had food from the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. The food is farm to table and I love sitting either outside or by the open kitchen as you watch the chefs cook. All and all I say it's worth going even for a cocktail. Sometimes they have live music playing and it's super cute for a nice date night. They do valet parking and have tons of charging stations.

All of the staff here are really nice & friendly. We started with Drinks. I had the Martini Special for the 4th of July and my husband had a Apple Spritzer made with Champagne. We had the Pan Seared Chicken which came with Fresh sautéed Green Beans and Polenta. The polenta was served in a square. I liked it that way and it made it easy to dunk in the Mushroom Gravy that came with the Chicken. My Mom had the Pan Seated Chicken too but they accommodated her by making a separate gravy minus the butter and hers was served with Salad & French Fries. We chose SILVIA because the menu is vegetable forward and as a vegetarian there were several dishes I had to try. Both my omni partner and I loved the mushroom lentil pâté, stuffed artichokes, and smoked beets we had for appetizers. The pâté is rich and flavorful and the pickled veggies it's served with are so good we only wished the dish came with more of them. The artichokes were perfectly tender and are stuffed with raclette and ramp (YUM), and the lemon breadcrumbs they're topped with pair so well with the cheese, and add a lovely brightness and zing. The smoked beets were also perfectly tender with a deep rich smokey flavor, and the chimichurri they come with does a nice job to add brightness (There's a theme here of rich flavors paired with brightness to make your palette pop). For an entrée we opted to share the local mushroom & pasta rags dish. the pasta rags were cooked nicely, soft but still toothy, and the mushrooms, black garlic butter, and thyme added a rich deep flavor. I was obsessed with the amount of parmigiano reggiano the pasta was topped with -- I could've eaten plate after plate of this dish. Their cocktail menu seems to be just as well thought out as their food with some unique offerings. I tried and enjoyed both Mezcal options. Service was warm, knowledgeable, and attentive.
