After scanning the code at O'Reilly Auto Parts, it turned out to be a faulty NOX sensor--the same issue that was supposed to be addressed by another dealership during previous warranty work. Along the way, I reached out to multiple dealerships. My experiences ranged from getting the runaround in Temecula to unreturned calls in Las Vegas. Each place seemed eager to charge me a $270 diagnostic fee without the assurance it would be covered, despite this clearly being an emissions-related issue. That's when I finally connected with Phil at Mercedes-Benz of St. George, Utah. From the first conversation, he was respectful, patient, and knowledgeable. For the first time, a service advisor reassured me that if the NOX sensor was the issue, it should indeed be covered under warranty. His calm demeanor immediately gave me confidence. Even though my check engine light had turned off by the time I reached Las Vegas, Phil encouraged me to continue to St. George so they could ensure my van was road-ready. He personally promised to have a technician ready when I arrived. True to his word, as soon as I pulled in, it felt like a NASCAR pit crew in action--Phil started the paperwork while Josh, the technician, immediately began scanning my van. Josh confirmed the codes had cleared (likely from a prior scan at O'Reilly's), but he went above and beyond by resetting the NOX sensor adaptations, ADBLUE metering valve, and fluid levels. He explained everything clearly, reassured me, and had me back on the road with confidence. The result? My Sprinter drove better than ever. I noticed improved fuel efficiency (15-16 mpg), stronger performance climbing grades and driving at elevation, and smooth performance throughout the rest of my trip. From Bryce Canyon to Frisco, Moab, Lake Powell, and Sedona, the van ran flawlessly. This experience showed me the difference a truly customer-focused service center can make. Phil and Josh treated me with respect, prioritized my time, and ensured I could continue my trip safely. I would gladly drive 600 miles from San Diego to St. George for future service, especially warranty work. I can't recommend Mercedes-Benz of St. George enough--Phil and Josh turned a stressful situation into a memorable and positive service experience.

ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCE AT STEPHEN WADE TOYOTA IN ST. GEORGE…read more I have bought two cars from SWT in St. George solely because of salesmen Danny Gilchrist. He is professional, straightforward and a genuinely good guy. Unfortunately that is no longer enough. I will never buy another vehicle from this dealership and you should NOT either. In 2019, after a pleasant experience with Danny, we had to go see the finance guy Jim Anderson, who was already super aggressive. When I said my payment and insurance were all I could afford and turned down all other offers they push on you, he literally berated and chided me for not putting any money down. He wrote "DOWN PAYMENT" on a pad of paper and tapped it with his pen while staring disapprovingly at us. He then pushed key-fob protection plans, overpriced extended warranty, higher-than-normal GAP insurance, and even insurance for the Corolla's LCD monitor, which he claimed cost $10,000. He got madder and pushier the more I refused until finally my husband stood up and said we're done here. Only then did he back off. This time (August 2026) was far worse. I was already approved by my credit union for an auto loan. Finance Manager Candace Abbott ran another second loan review through CUDL without telling me what was happening. Lied about the two-hour wait being because an employee was "sick in the hospital" and told me the new loan was denied and then magically approved after she supposedly called the AFCU vice president (that never happened). Candace repeatedly claimed she was selling me the same GAP my credit union offers, America First Credit Union. Later I found out it was not AFCU's product at all, and legally SWT cannot sell that specific GAP. She told us if we didn't sign up for the GAP today we could never get it. All lies. She also gave me an interest rate only available to Utah residents even though she knew I lived in Nevada. She dinged my credit with an unauthorized hard inquiry and then the loan turned out to be DENIED after I had already driven the used RAV4 home 90 miles away in Nevada. I found out the next day the loan was actually denied and my AFCU loan officer contacted me. Of course I won't be getting that lower Utah interest rate and though I have the car on my property there is actually no loan. LOL. What an absolute mess!!! It is massively inconvenient and completely unfair to get the car home only to find out there is actually no loan in place. Not sure what Candace was thinking. SWT would have never got paid and would have had to call me and try to work out a new loan agreement. Most likely I would not have been happy with their crappy finance options and they would have had to spend additional time and money to come collect the RAV4. I'm not driving it back. A long-time AFCU loan officer with decades of auto-loan experience has heard so many horror stories from other customers about this exact same dealership and warned me. I didn't listen. Stephen Wade Toyota finance has a known pattern of using heavy-handed sales tactics and outright lies. Candace Abbott lied to my face multiple times. She should not be working in financing or customer service. I will never buy another car from Stephen Wade Toyota in St. George, Utah. Now I have to work with my AFCU loan officer to get another loan approval. This will be the 3rd loan application for one car. Much wasted time and energy. Buying a car is already not a pleasant experience, and Stephen Wade Toyota's finance people have made that experience ten times worse. Give me 12 free oil changes, new hubcaps, and fire Candace Abbott. Then send all your finance people to customer-service and ethics school. Then maybe I would consider walking through your doors again. Until then, I recommend you stay far away. Not good!
