Rotten guac. No thanks.
Kristin E.

My husband just brought home Baja fish tacos. This was after I decided to give this place a second chance after my below average chicken quesadilla from last week. The quesadilla was small, full of large pieces of dry chicken and unseasoned tomatoes, with a hint of cheese. Disappointing to say the least. I like to write positive reviews, I rarely write a negative one. But these tacos were not only bland and lacking in ingredients, but the one addition I was looking forward to, and paid a $1.00 extra for, the guacamole, was rotten. I saw that it looked bad, but I thought I'd try it anyways and then had to scrape it off. During this time, I expect a restaurant's take out game to be just as good as their dine in game. Really disappointed.

So I work at the Nuke plant on Hutchinson Island near Jensen Beach. I asked around where's a good to watch football seeing that the Treasure Coast has no team to call there own. I was told head on over to Hurricanes. So I deck myself in my ATLANTA FALCONS attire and proceeded up to Hurricanes to represent the birds in style while they take on the Eagles. I soon learned that this bar was an all out Eagles fan bar- PERFECT! Too shorten my story, let's just I gave 'em hell. But as for the bar, the wings are tasty but none of there sauces were spicy enough for me. I want a good challenge while I eat wings almost to where I regret having ever eaten them. But the drink prices are bout as close to free as you can get and the staff knows how to handle volume and a rowdy crowd. 3 stars - wings 5 stars - prices 5 stars - staff 4 stars - sport watching experience Overall 4 stars.

$18 for 10 wings. I know food prices have come up, but that's unreasonable. You can literally go down the street for $10 for 10 wings.

Kind of a different scene at the Hoffmann last night. An old building situated right on the…read moreIntracoastal, so the scenery with the bridge and Hutchinson Island across the way was beautiful. Unfortunately, it was Winter in Florida with evening temps in the 50's. Fortunately, there were heaters set up to watch the band, have a glass of wine or a beer or eat some dinner. The Hoffmann is a beer and wine bar, so we bellied up. My wife had some Chardonnay, which she deemed to be very good for house wine, while I had a Stella. There were German beers on tap, which I will try out next visit. We got a table in the back, where the cool temps and breeze off the water wasn't making me cry. There was a heater next to us and all was well. Started with some Captains Calamari, which also had jalapeños mixed in and is served with marinara. They were cooked well and tasty. For dinner we each had a Philly. Mine was chicken and my wife's was mahi and both were good. Service was very good and the girls were friendly. Overall, a good experience, and we will return to try out their German entrees!

It's my understanding he's a local and likes to do that for people on occasion. Super sweet! The restaurant is right on the water so it's a little chilly with the wind but we really enjoyed it anyone's. Great ambiance and great food!

We went two days in a row during our weekend stay in town!…read moreAmbiance (5/5): Plenty of seating indoors and some outdoor as well. Classic diner set up and ability to onlook where the wait staff prepare the finishing touches to the dishes. Service (5/5): The service for this joint is very much which made my experience. The wait staff women were a delight-- sweet, friendly, and eager to help! They provided updates, refreshed our beverages, sincere when an error was made, and provided recommendations too. Food (5/5): There is so much on the menu to try! Huge portions for an affordable rate. Don't miss out on their freshly baked goods. We loved the cinnamon bun over the coffee cake but both were very good and served warm. The pulled pork benedict special was very tender and had loads of flavor. I enjoyed the corned beef but liked the benedict more. The second day, we enjoyed omelet and brioche bun French toast.

The only issue is the traffic noise, which is considerable. The inside restaurant area is your typical breakfast restaurant with booths and tables. The outside dining area features several tables on the sidewalk with that side view of the ocean and a frontal view of all that previously mentioned traffic. For my dining experience I chose the outside. The Service: My server did a great job taking my order, making sure my drinks were replenished and actually getting my somewhat unusual hot tea with steamed milk and honey correct on the first try! The Food: Besides the traffic, here's where the restaurant falls on its sword. I ordered corned beef hash topped with poached eggs a side of "crispy" home fries and buttered sour dough toast. The Good: The highlight of the meal was the "homemade" corned beef hash. I'm always hesitant to order "homemade" corn beef hash because it's often full of items it really doesn't need. However, this corned beef hash was absolutely excellent and it was clear that it was really "homemade". The sour bread toast was also done properly and was amply buttered instead of what you get at so many places which provide a dash of butter, brushed on by a butter brush. Unfortunately, that's where the good ends. The Bad: My poached eggs were overdone featuring not a hint of runny yolks and those "crispy" home fries that I made a point of asking for, were about as far away from crisp as you could imagine. In fact they were probably the most mushy home fries I've ever had. The Price: I must say, the price was not bad but, I'd prefer to pay a bit more and get a better breakfast anytime!
