This place is legit! We came here for Valentine's Day to treat our office and this place didn't disappoint. Your inner kid will be very happy you came in. They have an amazing donut selection, cinnamon rolls, cookies, icecream and even espresso drinks. We got 6 dozen donuts and a few drinks. The cherry old fashion was my favorite. Ok, so for those that don't know me I need to explain a few things. 1: I'm opinionated and I think there's a right way to do almost everything. 2: I spent 25 years in the Food & Beverage industry including managing two bakeries. 3: I consider doughnut making to be an art and one of the hardest things I've ever learned. (Seriously, you need to have knowledge of chemistry and biology to get it right). That said... Come here. They're doing it right. Yeast is a fickle friend and getting those things to come out JUST right takes both knowledge & practice. Someone in the back of the house there has a lot of both because their soft, pillowy creations are as good as it gets. The cake doughnuts, likewise, are definitely on point. The atmosphere here is fun which is a great departure from the usual. Most doughnut shops feel sterile. Like a hospital... harsh lights, shiny surfaces and austere monochromatic walls. Not here! It's festive and colorful and cheerful. The walls look like a group of street artists from Sesame Street (they do have a doughnut dedicated to Cookie) went to town with spray paint. The restroom is very clean and very cool. You'll see what I mean. The staff is polite, efficient, helpful & knowledgeable. Second day open at the crossroads of NE Cincy next to one of the busiest intersections you're likely to ever see during drive time (I popped in at 8am) and I was in & out in a little over five minutes. WELL DONE! Some notes for your first visit. Go to the website, look at the menu and know your order ahead of time. Being faced with that tidal wave of confections is overwhelming. If I hadn't been given marching orders from the family I'd have spent half an hour taking it all in before ordering. The cinnamon rolls and apple fritters are a family project. Our family LOVES donuts especially unique ones. We were super excited to see a new donut place in Mason that's open 24 hours. We arrived around 7:30 am and had about a 15-20 minute wait. The donuts tasted so good and fresh. There were so many to choose from. Could be overwhelming for some so you may want to check out their menu ahead of time. I wanted to see what all the excitement was about, so my husband and I stopped by at about 8PM on a Thursday night to try a Hurts Donut :). We'd been doing some shopping in the area and were coming from the east/Costco area, so it was convenient to come down Governor's Way. I pulled into the first driveway. There are some parking spots on this side of the lot. We drove to the back of the lot to get to the other side of the building. The drive-thru in in the back, and there is no way to get around the building in the back. So I turned around. Well, in the front of the building the Hurts Donut truck is parked, blocking the way to the main parking area. The driveway I entered has an arrow showing it is only for entering the lot. It is not wide enough to allow for entering and leaving. I didn't have a choice. I tried to leave using that driveway. A car wanted to enter, so I had to back up. This is unsafe, especially at night. Thus, the one star deduction. When we finally parked and were able to get a few donuts, we were very happy with the freshness and taste. They were very moist on the inside and had a nice crunch on the outside. However, they need to resolve the parking lot problem! read more

The donuts have a firm, but soft, cake. The toppings are meticulously installed on top of the donuts(not a big mess!). I had tried to go for days but the excitement crowd was overwhelming. I brought my team 2 boxes though coming in when the populous was sleeping. Super clean and the staff is very pleasant. If you want a well balanced donut l, this is the place. What better way to spend a spontaneous late night with friends than to pack up in a car and head to a 24/7 donut shop? We heard that this place just opened and it is such a relief as a night owl to be able to go somewhere besides Waffle House or White Castle for a night drive and some snacks. The decor is a retro/comic theme which they did an excellent job at! I hope to update this post with more photos of the decor. They had a swing set for photos and very colorful walls which provided a friendly and upbeat atmosphere. The donut selection was a lot for 1-2 AM in the morning. There were a lot of varieties of plain donuts as well as filled/ cereal topped and other unique varieties. They also had a section for specialty deserts like giant cinnamon rolls topped with strawberries or a bear claw that was definitely larger than my head. As someone who prefers plain donuts, I took my pick and was throughly satisfied with the flavor and texture. After taking them home and microwaving it to the perfect temperature I was delighted. I'll definitely be back if I ever have a sweet tooth again. It is good to know that there is a 24 hour donut shop close by. read more

Hurts has good to very good donuts at a very high price with a very long wait. I finally was able to get donuts at Hurts on Saturday, 1/20, at 6:30am (with fresh snow and 5 degrees outside). I tried several times prior to this, but the line/wait was too long. I was here the previous Sunday at 7:45am, but after standing inside in line for 20 minutes and seeing only 3 customers get donuts I left and went to the nearby Kroger for Buskin donuts and pastries. On Saturday, I was 5th in line and it still took 15 minutes to get to the counter. They had only one person serving customers, another person filling boxes with the standard Hurts Dozen, and others restocking donuts. The lines are slow primarily due to customers being overwhelmed at the huge selection instead of making a list ahead of time using Hurts' menu on their website. I ordered a Maple Bacon Bar ($5), Chocolate Iced Long John ($3.50, and it does not come with a cream filling), Glazed Yeast donut ($2.25), Old Fashioned donut (a.k.a., sour cream) ($2.80), and a Chocolate Iced Chocolate Cake donut ($2.80) for a total of $16.35 before tip. Overall, I would say that the ones I got were good to very good, but not great, and definitely not worth the price compared to getting similar donuts elsewhere for a much lower price. I'm glad I tried Hurts, and I might try it again in 6 months to try a Cinnamon Roll and Apple Fritter after the novelty of the new location wears off, but in the meantime, I will get just as good, if not better, donuts from Buskin (at Kroger for $1.79 each) and Graeter's for less price and significantly less, if any, wait. Plus, I can get a variety of danish at the other places, but cannot at Hurts. read more

I visited Hurt's Donuts for the third time today, giving them the benefit of startup jitters on the two previous occasions. All times, coffee, and service were exemplary! During the first and second weeks of the visit, we were met with very long lines, only to find out many choices were sold out. We left with a donut each, but nothing over the top. On the second visit, two weeks ago, business was much slower, and the cases were full of signature choices. We got a dozen of very expensive donuts. They are large, so be prepared to eat just one. Unfortunately, many flavors were one note for flavor, mostly overwhelmingly sweet. I blamed it on the mix of too many frosted varieties. Today, a second over-priced dozen donut run, being careful to broaden the selection and grabbing a few knives for sharing. After trying ET, Andes, Fruity Pebbles, Almond Joy, Rasberry Filled, and Maple Frosted. I decided that these are combinations of mostly flavorful toppings masking, just okay donuts. We have better donuts in the Cincy area for more reasonable prices at Krispy Kreme or Holtman's which can be equally over the top. read more
