I went in this morning to pick up donuts for the office and was poorly greeted​ and served by the woman working there at 6 am​. First, she seemed bothered that she had to stop making donuts. Maybe that's her morning look but it wasn't the typical cheer I get from other places like Donut Box in Little Elm. Those folks are always in a good mood. Furthermore, she snapped at me more than once. For example, I asked for six sprinkle donuts and she literally​ barked, "WHICH ONE...WE HAVE FOUR!!". I am utterly disgusting with this place. I went in today to buy donuts for the Frisco PD and my son. Upon waiting I made a post on FB seeing if anyone would like some so they didn't have to wait in a 2.5 hour line for a $5 delivery charge. I finally get to the front and the owner walks up to me calls me by my name and asks why I'm selling donuts on FB... and that I'm "mean" and "wrong", for doing so. Wait, WHAT!? I'm bringing you business and by taking orders, THREE to be exact, on FB I'm suddenly a horrible person?! I'm bringing you BUSINESS!!!! There's no way I'm going to deliver 3 packages of donuts for free. But yet I'm scrutinized and called out in front of all the other customers for helping some other Frisco peeps who didn't want to wait in line for 2.5 hours!? That's just wrong! Shame on the owner for being so rude to a customer who waited almost 3 hours in line only to be ostracized at the time of order. Not only that but they DONT GIVE RECEIPTS! I specifically asked for a receipt and the cashier told me they don't give them but they text them. So I have her my number and low and behold never got the text. I go to check my bank statement and I've been charge $105 dollars for 4 dozen($12) HURTS PICKS donuts!!!!! Are you kidding me!?! $105!?!?!? I will definitely be calling up there tomorrow for a refund and if they are as rude to me on the phone as they were tonight I'll be handling it with my bank. I WILL NOT BE BACK! Shame on the owner for belittling your customers!!! Shame on you!!!!!! UPDATE: Spoke with the founder on the phone today. whom I expressed my feelings to about how I was treated by the "owner" last night. She expressed concern and apologized for her behavior. She told me she was flattered I delivered her donuts for a $5 fee to local friends. She also refunded me for the correct amount I was supposed to be charged and said she would refund me a little extra for my troubles. Well, she refunded me the amount they were incorrect, not any extra. Why say that if you're not going to do it? I appreciate the founders response to my concerns and correcting my refund however, I will still not be back. I deserve an apology from the owner herself who was extremely rude and embarrassing! read more

I was excited when I heard that a 24 hr donut shop was coming to Frisco. A bonus that they had specialty donuts that you don't find in the regular donut shops that close at 12:00 PM here. After hearing and reading about the long lines during their opening week, I thought I'd wait a bit to try it out. My son's birthday was Monday (yesterday) so I wanted to get him birthday donuts for breakfast. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to finally try their donuts so I went a little after 11:00 PM on Sunday night hoping the line wouldn't be too bad. When I pulled up, I could already see the line snaking around the perimeter of the store. For a second I thought about backing out but I figured I wasn't on a time crunch so I'd stand in line since I'm already there. I go in and get in the back of the line while more people are flocking in. I take a look around and see that it's edgy, nice to see in Frisco. It felt a bit like Top Pot Doughnuts actually. Then I decide to notice their 3 Keys to Business Success according to Marcus Lemonis which are People, Product and Process. (Yes, I'm a Marcus Lemonis fan!) People - I counted about 10 employees that I was able to see. They all appeared to be keeping busy and no one was standing around or messing around. Product - the display was not full of donuts and looked very empty. Process - where I really see it lacking. There was a very long line. There was 1 employee helping 1 customer with donuts. I repeat ONE employee! After he got their donut selections, it was passed on to the cashier. The poor guy who was getting the donuts at the time was very pleasant. Seemed a bit tired. The cashier was meh, could have been more cheerful and friendly but by the time someone got up to the front of the line, I'm sure they didn't care and just wanted to give them the money, take their donuts and leave! When I was about 3rd from the front of the line, I felt I was close enough to make my selection before it was my turn, hoping it would help the process move faster. Well guess what? NONE of the donuts were labeled. Yup, I'm standing there looking at a pretty empty display and didn't know what kind of donuts were available. When it was my turn, I had to start asking the flavors for all of them since I had not a clue what they were. The one that I thought had cheese sauce/powder of some sort turned out to be TANG flavored! So there were a total of 6 flavors to choose from and I ended up getting 5 flavors, which TANG was NOT apart of. I got Birthday Cake, M&Ms, Twix and Snickers. When I asked if they will have just regular Glazed, he said no, they don't have any today. Really?! Isn't Glazed the staple flavor that should be a permanent fixture in any donut shop? Yup, no regular glazed donuts here. I wanted to only get 6 donuts because they had such a limited selection but the husband pressured me into getting a whole damn dozen because he said we should try a bit of all the flavors. OK what did you not hear? There are ONLY 6 flavors to choose from! But whatever, I'll get you your damn dozen. But I digress. Next morning my birthday boy and his brother were so excited to find donuts for breakfast. Birthday boy said it was SO good! But in reality, he ate less than 1/4 of the donut before heading off to school. I took that as too much excitement about his birthday and getting donuts for breakfast among a number of things that will be going on. After the house fell silent from the kids going off to school I decided to have one for myself to see what all the hype was. I chose the Twix. The donut was a good size so I used a fork. Price wise compared to the size I thought was reasonable. The donut was very dense as it's a cake donut. I'm not sure if they have any non-cake donuts but the 5 flavors I bought were all cake donuts. I didn't think it was very moist inside as some people mentioned. It was a bit dry. First bite, first impression was that it was OK. Definitely NOT the best I've had or even close. I was able to finish it only because I had my coffee with it. But after I was done, the guilt set in and I asked myself why the hell did I just eat that entire donut?! Birthday boy ended up never finishing the entire donut and got sick and said it was too sweet and that he never wants a Hurts Donut again. After the hype dies down, how will they sustain to stay open? Frisco is FULL of families meaning they can't spend 30+ mins in line with kids for a donut. If mom was w/o kids, she sure wouldn't spend that time in line! If their marketing is making hand-made donuts, one by one by one by one, yawn (I watched the video of donuts being made here), and creating a buzz by forming lines, that will die down sooner than later. The owner may want to rethink their process. WAY too many areas for improvement and my report could be at least 4 more pages long. But they are cutting my ramblings off... read more

Right now, giving 2 stars. They are handling the high demand of customers in such a horrible way. When my husband went in line early this morning at 5 AM, he thought he was going to be able to get one kind of donut we were all wanting, but the lady in front of him ordered eight dozen and took all the remaining donuts of the kind he wanted to try. Lots of people that were not part of organizations just ordering that many doesn't make sense. Our argument on social media was that they should have a limitation for the first two weeks. They said they wouldn't do that because demand will always be high, yet they are completely out of donuts now for everyone. That makes nooooooo sense! They also said this model works the best for THEM -- not the customer? Really? Then why are people making comments how it isn't fair in line and on social media? Also, there response on social media was a big social media customer service 101 no-no.... whoever is managing there social media, you should not have written what you did to piss off the customers more. Just write a nice, broad response. From one social media manager to another, please. I will say the this; donuts were good (the ones we were able to get). Very filling and rich but the cosmic brownie was my favorite by far. Hope the social media manager won't write a snarky response like they did in Facebook. Ha. We've tried Hurts 3 times now, and each time we were increasingly disappointed by the fact that they were out of glazed donuts. The fancy donuts are too much for my tastes. I'm not sure how you manage to create all these complex donuts but cannot manage to keep up with the glazed. We do not plan on returning, there are so many other options around that do not disappoint. read more

This place is a joke. Went in there and the line moves very slow. Only 1 person is actually at a register and one person to take orders.So of course there is a line to get donuts here. My impression is place is overhyped a lot. The donuts are also extra heavy and made me a little sick. Not a good first impression. The fact that there was only 1 person at the register and no one actually managing the line. Plus with a mediocre donut I can get at any grocery store I am giving them 1 star. If you looking for the same thing without the crazy line go to Jarams Donuts in North Dallas. There much much better then this place. read more

Normally This is My Favorite Place for Donuts...and I haven't had them in awhile, although they are beautifully decorated as usual. I was a little disappointed when I bit into my all time fav Lemon Donut it was stale and I'm not talking 24 hours stale it was super dry and so was my cream cheese red velvet The glazed was awesome. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews for Hurts--the donuts are delicious and so creative. They are pretty sweet, but they're donuts so that's obviously to be expected. My favorites are the blueberry cake donut and Cookie Monster. read more

Finally gave hurts donuts a try yesterday. I drove by and there was zero line, so decided it would be a good time to try them out and see what the hype was about. Their donuts are all HUGE cake donuts with candy, cereal, and way too many toppings on top. I got a dozen, because I wanted to try them all... but oh my gosh the sweetness and heaviness of one bite makes you feel ill. The chocolate cake donuts were a bit dry, the regular cake donuts were better, but I felt sick and still feel sick after eating them. I'd rather just have normal donuts. Less dense! read more

Fun selection (they look better than they taste), and a bit over priced considering they tasted like they were from the day before. Ridiculous that you can't get a free cup of water-they don't even have a water fountain so after you spend all this money you have to spend more on water. I'm afraid any complaint falls on deaf ears as I read the reviews and saw responses. I see that they are happy with the way things are managed and running...I guess one needs to take a video to show how slow they were and maybe it would make sense, but I left before thinking about it. Seems to be a way to move faster and make customers happy in the process instead of sadly frustrated. One of the thing customers value today in customer service is a feeling that our time is important to you as well. I don't think this place gets that. Maybe it's an overhead thing. Maybe it's an ego thing based on the response on others complaints. Donuts look cool....some may even taste great but it's the long line that will turn you away. Why is there only one person getting donuts pulled for the customers? Seriously...ONE PERSON. At one point the lady with the tattoo on her chest was to busy dancing and getting down to the music in her head then helping the ONE PERSON pulling the donut orders. Also, you wait so long in line and when you finally get up to the counter you have to ask "which one is this?... which one is that?" They don't label there donuts and you have no clue what is what. I came in on a Sunday at 10:00 a.m., waited over an hour in line and by the time I finally got to the counter (still with only ONE PERSON working it) the donuts I wanted were all gone. Never EVER let them pick you donuts!!!! You would think if they offer for them to pick your donuts that they would give you a variety of different styles of donuts... Right??? Not the case I got six sprinkle doughnut just all different kinds of sprinkles, if you're going to go there just pick your own donuts and pay the extra four dollars. What can I say? The donuts looked incredible and the place was spotless! Unfortunately, it seems they're either intentionally trying to make people wait or they don't know how to run the front of the house as they had one person waiting on people and one person working the register. The person waiting on people just couldn't keep up while the person on the register twiddled her thumbs... after 45 minutes I simply left... the novelty is simply that and not worth another drive.. good luck with that customer service approach to business! read more

Will never go back. Long line, 1 person checking people out, not many donuts coming out for the number of employees they had in kitchen. They didn't even have normal glazed donuts, but they did have maple bacon, which our group really wanted the most. It was a Sat night at 10pm, and we had over an hour wait which could have been much closer to 20-30 min had they had more employees up front. I don't see what the craze it all about but I assume people go once to try it, and never go back like us. They are way too sweet and busy! Hated the experience. read more
