The waitstaff was so kind and accommodating, and didn't mind pulling over extra chairs for our large party on a busy Saturday. Husby's is one of my top two favorite bars in all of Door County, and a top dive bar of all time. I love the interior - classic Wisconsin with the fish on the walls and dollars on the ceiling (all of which get donated in the end)! A classic selection of food, and just your typical dive bar drinks. Can get very busy in the peak season, but then they open the Garage or the Filling station, opening up more area to hang out and/or order drinks. GREAT live music in the summer, and this year I did the Cherry Drop for the first time which was a BLAST! A must stop if you are up in Door County. read more

We rolled in for a snack attack and scored way more than we bargained for. The tunes were cranked up just right for a bar - which, let's be real, is what this place actually is - and we dug it. The grub was on point, especially that perch plate on Friday, which was totally fin-tastic. Our server was delightfully weird and got stuff done like a pro. Stopped in for lunch since I wanted to try a traditional WI old fashioned. Our lovely bartender made my husband and I both a sweet and sour version so we could see which we liked better (I liked the sour, he the sweet) and we split the walleye and fries for lunch (two large pieces of walleye with the usual tartar sauce). The drinks and food were both very tasty, and the service was very nice at the bar. It was not crowded when we came in, as it was during the week at lunchtime, but I imagine that it can get quite busy during the dinner rush and in this area, parking can get a bit difficult. read more

Tonight, my wife and I went to Husby's for the Tuesday night prime rib special. Let me start by saying, we will be back, as it's a great value, 14 ounce prime rib for $22.00! Now the bad, we asked for medium rare, more likely than not, we arrived at 5 pm and they sliced off 2 pieces and broiled them to medium. In my opinion, thier prime rib may be a select cut, as it was somewhat tough. Additionally, a kitchen noted for pub grub, over-seasoned the crust, making it extremely salty. The crust was literally impossible to eat. Cut away the crust, concentrate on the center portion and you'll enjoy a reasonably priced ribeye. However, if you are a connoisseur of slow roasted, fork tender prime rib, you may want to look elsewhere. The ambiance is football game pub and the service is excellent pub service. For the reasons I stated above, a 14 ounce ribeye for the price of a burger is win, win, and I highly recommend the prime rib special! read more

Came here on the last Friday night in September with a group of ladies. One had heard it is "the" spot in this area. We found a table on the outdoor patio. There was a band playing. No hostess, no server so I had to take a walk back into the building to order our pizza. Up stairs. Then return 15 minutes later to pick it up in a box and take it back downstairs outside. No plates. Presented as okay bar pizza that might taste like something if you're drunk. Outside bar option that again you have to go to and then wait in line, making the night disjointed. I don't know how anyone does it with a smaller group with one running around for food, some for drinks, some holding the table and chairs for those gone. Kudos for it being well lit there. And gain of star because hearing a live band and being outdoors to do it were among the intentions for the night. read more

Stopped by for lunch a little after noon on a Tuesday and got the last table. Server quickly stopped by and took our drink order. I ordered the BLT and my wife ordered a chicken cranberry wrap and we shared. Did not take long for the food. BLT was good, but the wrap was the best of the two. Granted, standard bar food, but done really, well. For me, when bar food is done right it is as good as any other style of food. Don't come here for Football Sunday! They advertise their multiple flat screens and NFL red zone package. I came on the first football Sunday of the year. Literally had a single NFL game on during 12 pm slot. 4/8 TVs. The other 4 TVs were a blowout Sunday baseball game and tennis. They would not change it when asked. Joke of a sports bar. read more

This was my first time at Husby's after hearing about it for a very long time. I'm glad to say it did not disappoint! They had many good drink options, as well as a seasonal drink menu with a few additional choices. I had the cherry mule, and it was great! We also got food, and all of us really enjoyed our meals. The apps were great, especially the nachos! There was more than enough food for all of us and everyone thought their meal was great. The service was also great! This is a great location in sister Bay, located right on the main drag where there are other bars, ice cream and restaurants. They offer nice outdoor patio seating, as well as interior seating with the bar. They also have live music, which was playing when we went for dinner. It added some nice ambience to the meal. We were here for the 2nd annual cherry drop New Year's eve celebration. At midnight they lower a lit up cherry similar to most ball drop celebrations. The town of Sister Bay promotes this event for weeks. Husby's is just one of the participating businesses. They were prepared for a large crowd despite a blizzard that made our 30 mile trip dicey. We arrived around 7pm. The street parking was gone so we parked in a public lot a couple blocks away. They had several gas heaters and fire pits to keep people warm for the event. There is an outside bar they call the Garage which was open. The inside bar wasn't very full so we sat in there. While waiting, I ordered one of the signature burgers with fries. The "Vaquero" burger is made with jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo, and topped with lettuce and onion rings. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo were the perfect compliment to this robust burger. The onion rings on top made the burger hard to handle, but not impossible. I'll list this one on my best burger list. There was to be a live band, but it was getting crowded so we left before they started. I must say this place really knows how to throw a New Year's eve party. I'm looking forward to next year's event. read more

Still without power from a storm, we needed a place to go. Decided to have burgers and Husby's has some of the best. We both ordered the Huz which is 2 large patties on a delicious toasted bun. The burger is actually too big and juicy to pick up and eat, so it was knife and fork time. The fries were hot, crispy and perfect.we both could not stop eating them, they tasted so good. Our server was very friendly and attentive. She must have checked on us 5-6 times! The inside is clean and inviting. They have done a nice job of separating the bar area from the other seating areas, so it is both a bar and a family restaurant at the same time. Come early as they get pretty busy! read more
