There was a bar owner who assaulted me while I had two puppies on a leash as soon as I got out of my vehicle because maybe he didn't like the color brown. the other owners never did anything else for my trauma. I'm an Army Veteran as well that gave him mercy. I'm capable of a lot but I let it go. He made my dog hit his head on the wood fence out back. 2 months later now my dog is paralyzed too. Simple cash only bar with a few TVs. Table seating is limited which should have been a sign that food is an afterthought. People swear by the wings but I wasn't impressed. Based on the reviews I saw looking for a place for dinner we had high hopes for this. We were wrong. The establishment was fine and what we were looking for. Your typical small Wisconsin hole in the wall. Service was decent. Food was the issue. We had a party of 4 in our group and only 1 was happy with the food. I ordered the chicken ranch wrap and it was 95% lettuce with very little chicken and I am pretty sure that it didn't include any ranch at all. Few of us got French fries and they were so overdone none of us ate them at all. I would return for a drink and to hang out but most certainly would never go back to eat. read more

Fun find!! Friendly hole in the wall place. We sat at the bar and bartender was attentive and helpful. Surprised when she brought my husband his beer she said "oh I see there is a chip in the glass" and instead of getting him a new glass she just turned the chip away from him! Pleasantly surprising little "dive bar" right on Hwy 57 between Baileys Harbor and Sister Bay. Very popular among locals but visitors are frequent guests here too. Friendly bartenders and great food. Good sized bar and places to sit outside in the nice weather. The place is old but charming. The wings are some of the best I've had anywhere...several flavors, all good. Soups come in a surprising home made variety, recently Korean Hot Pot and Scallop and Pea soup. Very good. This happened last winter; Was told by friends this was a great place to get wings. Stopped there with my wife and mother in law as we were passing through. Walked in, games were on, definitely more of a local bar feel, and cash only. Ordered three cold beers and got them right away, and paid that bill right away. We ordered food, sat down and waited, and got our wings in about 20 minutes. They were good, not great, but everything was pretty much fine up to this point. Here's where things went south. I go back to the bar to pay for our food and settle up. I had paid for our beers in a separate check, so our food was all that was left to pay for. But on our check there was a 4w with an extra charge on there. I didn't know what that was, so I asked and after 10 minutes or so and the two bartenders talking back and forth while looking in my direction they come back and say it was for the 4 well mixed drinks I ordered. I explained that we didn't order those and only had 3 beers, which we had already paid for. They took another few minutes and begrudgingly came back with the corrected bill, which was about 27 bucks. I gave them 2 20s to pay. The guy returned and handed me back a 5, two 1s and 4 quarters; 5 bucks short. Now I had planned on tipping, but when I explained he had shorted me on change the bartender stormed to the register, pulls out 4 singles and 4 more quarters, and slams it down in front of me. Not a word from him. At this point they were lucky to get anything from me, so I left the quarters on the bar and turned to leave. As we were walking out, one of the drunk regulars yelled at us, "And don't come back!" Don't worry, I won't. And if you aren't from around there, stay away. They don't want you at AC Tap and apparently will go to shady lengths to communicate that. read more

We drove past AC Tap on our way in and decided to give it a try the next day. When we walked in we were met with the entire bar staring at us for what seemed like was for the fact we were the only people in the entire establishment wearing masks (including employees). After one rude comment from a fellow customer about us "not knowing where we belong," we decided to make the most of the situation, since we had already gotten drinks. The rest of our experience was much better than our first few minutes. The rest of the people there were super friendly and we were able to somewhat distance ourselves in the corner at a table. We only ordered drinks, but people seemed to enjoy them. The bar is cash only, but there is an ATM available. The bar had games and the option to choose your own music. So a Vikings fan walks into a Packers bar (an hour after the Packers lost) hoping to catch the Vikings game. It could be a little intimidating but it wasn't at all. The drinks were great, the patrons were fun & friendly, the wings were awesome and the bartenders were exceptional. LIVE REVIEW This place is awesome! Laura is the bartender is so, so cute and sweet. All the girls working are amazing. We ordered a basket of fries, chicken tenders, and fried cheese curds. The portions were very large and they didn't charge extra for condiments like marinara. The chicken tenders were extremely fresh and light breading, not greasy. It is not very busy (but there is a small crowd) and the other patrons are very nice. I definitely recommend this place for visitors looking for places to hang out without all the tourists. Okay so my night started at 10pm we went out to the local bar "Husbys" but we were told they stopped serving food which confused me because they close at 2:30am. Luckily we were directed to this bar that is only 7 mins away ! But I would've drove even farther. The company is amazing and the food is even better! Soon enough we found ourselves at the A C Tap. A quiet, but friendly and welcoming place with pool, darts, baggo, a long L-shaped bar and dirt-cheap drinks. We went through I don't know how many buckets of mini-Bud bottles that night and the barkeeps took great care of us. The highlight of the evening was when a school bus arrived with a load of bachelorettes. We got excited until we realized they were just there to pick up some food before they carried on. Rude service. Stopped in to AC Tap on a Friday afternoon, looking forward to showing my friends a local spot with good food. Turned into a BAD service experience with good food. Bartender did not want to wait on us. We were patient and friendly but waited for a long time before the bartender bothered to get us our beers. After deciding what we wanted, we waited forever again to order food. Bar was not busy at that point and the bartender could see us waiting at the bar. She just did not seem interested in taking our order. When we ordered and got our food, the wings and buffalo curds were great. Went up to pay after we finished and we (and another family) waited AGAIN while she ate at the bar, not interested in helping us. We compared other spots we went to against this experience and all other servers were friendly and responsive. We had so much fun elsewhere but unfortunately, only have a bad feeling of AC Tap. The AC Tap bartender would make much more $ if she just had a better attitude and the bar is losing $ from the customers who walk out the door because they can't get served. The Tap is an amazing place because they serve food all day everyday until bar close! The kitchen is always open until last call and the tap does bar food the right way. They have a two page menu along with a homemade special and soup each day. Mondays they do 50cent wings and a beer special. Tuesdays they do homemade sushi rolls. In the winter, Thursday nights are usually all you can eat homemade spaghetti. Friday of course they have fish fry specials-- perch or shrimp (sometimes lawyer or blue gill) and Sunday nights they do 1/4 baked chicken and dumplings. Things you need to know: Cash or Check only.
