We were seated right away and got in our orders. They have a nice wine list and we were able to find a good selection off of that. This time around I was able to get Veal Piccata. I am a bit of a veal snob and this was amazing! The veal was tender, perfectly prepared, and delicious. The pasta was also fresh and tasty. Pasta Vino, located in a detached building on the lower level of the Country Walk Mall in Sister Bay, is perhaps the most romantic restaurant in Door Country. The place is a culinary gem thanks to its young new owners, Nick, the front man and occasional waiter and bar tender, and Amanda, his wife, who does a wonderful job as the house cook. It is a small, intimate place with comfortable seating and cloth napkins and table coverings. Like all restaurants, it can get noisy if it is crowded, so try to go earlier or later to truly enjoy the dining experience. "Bug" and Monica, their two exceptional waitresses, were off on vacation, so Nick waited on us. Joel, the other excellent waiter, didn't show up until after we were seated. Their Italian dishes are all delicious. The appetizers are wonderful and the chicken carbonara is to die for. We have also eaten the chicken parmigiana and the shrimp scampi, which was the dinner which I ordered. Fortunately, my wife shared her chicken carbonara with me, so I was very happy indeed. A very nice treat is that a salad or a soup comes with your entre, something that is becoming increasingly rare nowadays. The wine list is not extensive, but it does include some very nice West Coast and Italian wines, so kudos for that. Desserts are offered as well, but not the normal Italian desserts served everywhere else. The bill for everything that we ordered plus the wines is comparable to most all other Door County fine dining restaurants. Please be aware that Pasta Vino is a one person operation with Amanda doing everything in the kitchen (at least during the winter), so the offerings are fairly limited. Not that you will have any reason to complain, though, for everything they do offer is delicious. Pasta Vino does not take reservations, a situation which limits the number of times that we are able to eat there, but this is still one of our favorite area restaurants. Please do not miss the opportunity to enjoy this culinary sweet spot! read more

We made another visit to Pasta Vino last night and once again, so fantastic! We were a party of 5 at 6:00pm and the place was already almost full. Got seated right away and our waitress, Monica, was wonderful. Attentive service, but also left us plenty of space to enjoy our time together. The bruschetta was unbelievable!! I had the chicken carbonara and Caesar salad. Everyone in our group had something different and all were pleased. I give one star for kicks, this Italian restaurant is the worst the Italian food was so bad. I had the sausage, onion, pepper, in a Marinara sauce and spaghetti, the Marinara sauce I thought was just tomato paste. The pasta was so bad I could not eat all of it, it was so gummy and chewy it was unbelievable. The wife wanted Lasagna so bad and the waitress said no way that was is only occasional when every!! Also there was only two salad dressing and neither one of those was Italian. We were totally blown away by the place we won't be going back no way. read more

We had a wonderful meal at Pasta Vino during our visit to door County Wisconsin. I had a white fish fillet with marinara sauce and pasta. It was accompanied by a wonderful salad with bacon and crumbles of gorgonzola cheese. My partner had the sausage and peppers & it was just delicious The table next to us had a large plate of the muscles that looks fantastic and some of the other food around me looked wonderful as well. Have not been to Pasta Vino in years and I love there new location in Sister Bay. It may not have the views of the Bay or a prominent location on "the Hill" but its atmosphere is cozy and warm. My wife had the Italian Wedding soup and Chicken Alfredo. I had the Caesar Salad and Seafood Scampi (special of the night). The Alfredo was amazing and rich. We even had leftovers because the serving was definitely generous. My scampi has 4 huge scallops, a lobster tail and two large shrimp all bathing together in a buttery, lemon, garlic infused liquid of love. So good! We have not been to Pasta Vino in awhile but we will be back. I saw numerous dishes that I wanted to try. They also have a lasagne night which can't be a bad thing! read more

This WAS a great Italian place, it has changed owners a few times, apparently just reopened 8 weeks ago. We were up,at our house in Sister Bay this week, our son was very excited to see Pasta Vino was open again and so we went for dinner. What a huge disappointment! The pasta is thick and gummy, I had the chicken Parmesan the chicken was too thick, should be two pounded out chicken breast more like schnitzel, the cheese was tasteless shredded mozzarella and the spaghetti it was served on was so gummy and stuck together it was practically inedible. For the prices they are charging, the owners need to start with a new chef and a new pasta distributor. Or better yet get a chef that can hand make pasta to order. I make my own pasta all the time it's quick and simple. We would not go back $100.00 for dinner (no alcohol ) was shocking based on the quality of the food. read more

The restaurant is housed on a golf course and has a sort of country club feel to it. Charming yet dated decor and plays fun and fitting Sinatra style music while you dine. Our server was one of those...got the job done but would walk away before you could ask for anything else types. She was busy but slowing down a bit and giving your customers some personalization can go a long way. The food was very good. Fresh salads, good bread and the pastas were very well prepared. My family and I frequent door county every summer and we like to try new things. This restaurant is hidden away for a reason. The food was so bad my grandma threw up after we left and my aunt was gaging in the parking lot. I am being 100% truthful. Service and Appetizer were okay but food was unimaginably bad. All together we tried four different dishes. The chicken seemed to raw, the noodles were clumped together and badly cooked, and the sauce was bland. As I write this, my family is taking tums and feeling sick at the hotel. All four dishes were returned to kitchen. Literally the worst food I've ever had. I do not recomendable this restaurant at all. You're better off going to the Piggy Wiggly and getting a fresh chicken pot pie. read more

My husband and I ate here for the first time last night. The food was fantastic! Many options for traditional Italian dishes. Something for everyone. I had chicken scampi with a caper sauce linguine. The chicken was thinly pounded and crisp with panko. Husband had chicken Alfredo. Most entrees under $20 and include Caesar or other salad and warm bread. We both loved our entrees. House Red montepulciano was very good and nice pour for $7. Nice outdoor dining area. Service from a lovely young lady visiting from Bulgaria was prompt and friendly. Tomato sauce tasted like it was straight from the jar/can. Portion was extremely small for the price charged. Small venue that is located in an odd strip mall type setting. Food was not authentic. We heard our waitress tell a neighboring table that they do not make their own Caesar dressing. Our second visit in two years. This year we tried the red sauces, big mistake, both where tinie tasking and just out of a can. The worst was one in our party order a NY Strip Steak which was full of grisal and just impossible to eat. We told and showed our server who notified the manage who reduced the price to 1/2. In my opinion 1.) it should have been comped and 2.) they should have stopped by. When ordering our second bottle of wine, we where advised it wasn't available because the manager drank it. Pasta Vino has best chicken carbonara I've ever tasted! My friends and I decided to stop by at this restaurant for dinner. It was a cute little place and the staff was so welcoming. We had a group of 6 and the place looked pretty packed so I was surprised when they were able to seat us immediately without a reservation. Everyone was really happy with the food they ordered. The servers were top notch and kept our water and bread flowing. The entree portions were pretty big, I ate almost half of my chicken carbonara and packed the rest of it to take with me. It' the perfect restaurant to eat good food and enjoy good company. I wish this restaurant was closer to my home so I could enjoy it more frequently. read more
