This stadium features a U-shaped design and located right on the shores of Lake Washington. We've attended numerous Husky games have always had a great time. Staff members are cheerful and friendly. Concession stand prices are astronomical, which is to be expected. They do have a solid selection beverages and food. Tailgating and sailgating are time honored tradition at Husky stadium given the promixity to Lake Washington. Getting to the games is now easier with the light rail stop directly outside the stadium. Both Metro and Sound Transit have bus routes near the stadium. The most common strategy is to drive and park near or on University Avenue and walk through the UW campus. This stadium is convenient and a ton of fun.

It only holds about 2,000 people and because it's a smaller stadium you can get good views no matter where you sit. We sat two rows behind home plate which was amazing! The only complaint is that when it started raining during the game, the rows closer to the front didn't have any cover while the ones further back did. There are some concession stands for food and shops if you want to buy UW gear. It was fun to enjoy the game on a nice day and it was a relaxing time.

So that's probably hard to do for any stadiums anywhere. What's remarkable is the food and the liveliness it has during event days. Inside the stadium, of course, but even the outside and heck, the entire mile of a walk to the stadium itself is just energized with people hanging out and grabbing food. It cannot be understated how well the environment is out here. Of course, the stadium itself is a state of the art facility and probably one of the loudest acoustically. I think I heard it was specifically engineered for that? Don't quote me on that but it really does get loud out there, and I love it. Biased as I am, having lived here my entire life, this place is arguably the best setting in the world in my heart.

Scale, energy, and that classic Pacific Northwest night under the arches. When the crowd is locked in and the songs are big enough to fill the place, it really shines. That said, the acoustics aren't great for quieter or more nuanced moments (stadium echo is real here), and getting in and out can be a pain, especially by transit. The light-rail mess after this show didn't help. If you care more about atmosphere and hits than perfect sound, you'll leave happy. If you're sensitive to echo or prefer intimate acoustics, maybe stick to smaller venues. Sheeran keeps coming back for a reason though--this place works for his style of stadium intimacy, even if it's not a sonic paradise.

Some of us Alumni got lost walking around in wet weather in expensive formal attire. I went to this University and knew this campus like the back of my hand but as an Alumni there's so many new development the campus has changed, just like the rest of Seattle, it's become unrecognizable - for the better! EVENT. This place is an event space and the UW 100 Years Rising Up Gala was held here. Although this was a Gala, I referred to this event as the UW FASA Officers Alumni Reunion. Amazing to see friends I've stomped and organized events on campus with 15+ yrs ago hustling on budget. SPACE. Nice view, spacious (enough), bar (wine and beer), kitchen access, and plenty of bathrooms. There were roughly 400+ attendees that this place capped. Take the elevator up to the forth floor, cross this little overpass, and into the center. One side overlooked the stadium field. There were plenty of TVs against the ceiling wall. The center area expands out to another layer on each side. Restrooms on each side. What I didn't like about the space was it's odd rectangle length. Maybe good for viewing whatever might be on the field but for event space held within, the outer tables for a view of nothing. Also, if UW is going to "rent" this space out for social UW events they should allow access to the many TVs. There were some video presentations shown at the Gala and external TVs were brought in which were hard for people to see because they weren't elevated. Trying to wrap up a Gala by 11pm was doable but we also felt a little rushed to take our social engagements elsewhere. UW, thanks for opening this space up to those who pored thousands of dollars into the school at some point in their life ;)

And let me tell you, that if this is how the upper crust is living, then how do I get on the hummer limo? First of all, the DJC is a luxury seating area for the boosters and long-time alums who support the Husky football program through thick and thin (though there is a lot of kvetching during the thin times). You enter a sheltered buffet style room and access your seats through doors facing the field. The juxtaposition between the elite and the students is emphasized by a concrete wall that allows alums to feel as though they are part of the Purple Mania going on below them, but without obligating the alum to rise up from their seats and potentially disturb the caramel latte that they obtained gratis from the DJC. One can simply rattle one's jewelry in honor of the team's successful performance. The food here is designed for the elite palate. Chein chaud (Hot Dog) and Salad de Ceasar. Judging by the voraciousness of the food obtaining process, this is a well-anticipated event for most of the attendees. Conversational snippets overheard were dominated by descriptions of physical ailments and liabilities, particularly those related to the gall bladder. If you have any rich UW friends, try ingratiating yourself and see if you, too, can get a shot at the DJC.

My cousin got the garlic fries with chicken strips, but tell me why they were the best garlic fries I've ever had??? Overall, I feel like Climate Pledge consistently does a good job and I will definitely be back for another concert. Other notes: Public transit is free if you have an event here! The staff is very friendly as are fans. The salmon race is fun to watch and Mariner Moose is adorable. It was Star Wars night so it was fun to see the storm trooper and Darth Vader as well as Mariner Moose being dressed. Mariners scored well in first two innings but Yankees caught up with my former Cardinal favorite Paul Goldschmidt giving Yankees the lead. Then I was out of there. Oh well.

Background Attended an August Saturday late-afternoon game, the Mariners played the Cubs. Sat in field level, first base side. Sunny weather, temperatures in the low 70's, and a great finish, the M's came from two runs down in the 9th to win on a walk-off homer. Sold-out field. Who could ask for anything better, right? Stadium Warning, gripes follow! You may wish to skip past the next couple or so paragraphs. We arrived early, as we always do when we visit a park for the first-time. Two gates open 2 hours before game time - we happened to line up for the Pen entrance simply because it was the closest. Several minutes later as our part of the queue approached the entry a security employee (I think) walked up and asked if we had T-Mobile accounts. Unthinkingly we answered honestly, "nope". He said "follow me", then "this line is only for T-Mobile customers". Now I've since searched and haven't found this posted as such anywhere on-line or at the park. Were we scammed? Possibly, but by the time I realized this we'd been escorted out of line. So off to the end of the Center Field gate line, and, several more minutes later, we're finally in. Then, partway around the concourse we're stopped again. It so happens that only a portion of the park opens two hours early, most of it opens a half-hour later. So we find ourselves being pushed and jostled while huddled in an unorganized mass of people for several more minutes. In the many, many stadiums I've visited in my life I have never had such issues. T-Mobile, if you have limited access entrances, ADVERTISE them! And whether early or later, just open the entire park at the same time. The mess we stood in was truly a public safety concern. Finally, not the fault of T-Mobile or the Seattle Mariners, but our seats happened to be around a group of fans who had clearly enjoyed a few too many fine beverages and/or other products. A shame, because their raucous behavior detracted from our and I'm sure many other fans' enjoyment of the game. I know, attend enough games these days and you'll run into a few such vibe-killers. Doesn't make a person feel any better when it happens to them, or you. Other than that, it's a scenic park, especially for one which has right field closed off for the "not a roof". Food So many great food choices, certainly the best I've visited. Salt & Straw ice cream! Sumo dogs! Seafood, Mexican (chapulines!) Detroit-style gourmet pizza, fancy cocktails, to name just a few options. But choose quickly! By the fourth inning of our game the concourses were filled and every good vendor had a very long line of customers. What's Unusual So that retractable "not a roof" is actually an umbrella. It closes to keep the rain out but leaves the sides of the park open to the elements. Cool! Summary I've read several articles that place T-Mobile among the very best major league parks. Unfortunately, our experience didn't meet that high standard. Still, a very good place to see a game.

It's not a professional sports experience, but I wouldn't expect it to be -- and honestly, they do a really good job with what they have. One of the coolest parts is the history around the venue. They have a Hall of Fame area and a small museum-style section that's fun to walk through before the game. They also do themed nights that make the experience even more enjoyable. We went on Star Wars night two years in a row, and they had Star Wars characters all over the arena, which was a blast. I've brought friends and family members to games, and everyone has enjoyed themselves. It's also very easy to get to using the light rail, and for basketball games there's usually plenty of parking available nearby. Overall, it's one of the better entertainment values in Seattle. For the ticket price, there really isn't much else you can do in the city that's this fun and family-friendly. And beyond basketball, the other Husky sporting events we've attended have been great experiences too.

Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion is a fancy and long name for an old building that…read moreis no frills, no obvious A/C, with a musty smell on a warm day. If you sit on the second-tier bleachers, it gets warmer and warmer when it is 70 degrees outside. It is a covered arena, adjacent to the open-air Husky Stadium. The primary parking is Lot E1. The portion that is closest to the building is E-18; Google map shows it. If anyone needs ADA parking, E-17 is a small, closer one with ADA only parking. While the building is most commonly used for basketball, it can be rented out, such as for graduations. The Bellevue school district's four high schools rotate their four graduations in a single day. It is a hot mess - figuratively and literally on a hot day. Be warned if you are going. They have a Huskies gift shop for those looking to shop.
