Last week I picked up 2 special order items from Menards in Hutchinson, MN that cost around $900…read more When I got them home, I realized that the online description of both items had wrong information that were significant enough that I returned them. Menards has a 25% restocking charge on special orders. When I explained to the cashier that the items didn't match their description she was unwilling to help. Eventually she called someone else over (maybe a manager, but I was never told). This person was unwilling to consider anything I said, and she told me it would cost Menards money to take it back. When I told her it was going to cost me over $200 because of an error on their website her astonishing response was "I don't care". Back home, I sent an email to Menards' head office. Paraphrasing, the response was "Sorry. We need you as a customer. You will not receive anything more from us." So, not only does Menards have terrible customer service, they don't care if their errors cause their customers to lose money. In addition, and even more surprising, not one of the three people I have dealt with on this even asked what the error was in the item descriptions. So the next person to order has to live with it as well or lose the restocking charge as well. Unfortunately, having just moved we have been shopping a lot so I still have a few of their rebates coming, so I either toss them or I have to go back and shop with them one more time.

The demo was very helpful before we broke in to groups and tried it out for ourselves. Due to this class' popularity - the group sizes were a bit larger (we had 5). Although we all found tasks to divvy up, we did feel bad that most didn't get to really try out all the steps of making this high-maintenance cookie to really get hands-on experience. Becki, our instructor & AK owner, was very interactive and helpful throughout the whole class. She provided good tips and tricks & created a fun environment, encouraging & fostering great group interaction. During the baking time we took a brief "shopping break" to explore the store. Becki has so many practical, high-quality cooking items it is a great store. You could find absolutely anything you could possibly need in your kitchen! Back to class, Becki had prepped the buttercream for us to fill the cookies. She went over different combinations we could try with jelly fillings & then we got to try our hand at filling. We only wished we had remembered to ask a few questions about making the buttercream, since we didn't get to mix this up during the baking phase & gain hands-on experience. We are always so impressed with the variety of classes Becki offers, her passion for cooking, & we loved the great environment she fostered during the class. The members of the class were from all over the metro, proving it really is worth "the drive" to Buffalo if this is not a close location for you. They are even dog friendly (leashed)! The coffee selection is vast, creative, tasty and reasonable priced. It's a great place to stop in for a quick visit, chat and catch up, or even work. The staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating. The outside patio has two levels, I stayed on first level since it was super sunny that day. I look forward to stopping in when I can!
