A fabulous hardware store that keeps us supplied in Mound. They are customer service all the way! I've seen some bad reviews here stating that they were waiting for their husband to get there in his truck, but it was closing time. Which means everybody had worked all day and they would like to go home but she said no you have to wait for my husband and the guy said no we don't. He's not here we're close. so bye-bye lady because this is a great store for Mound. We would surely love to have some lake type entertainment, good food, but those are all too much to ask for in Mound. They even got rid of a health club behind the bank and put in a plumbing store, only for plumbers not open to the public. I get sidetracked but the hardware store is great and serves a real need and the people are super friendly. read more

Love love love! Since moving into our super fixer upper of a condo 10 months ago, we have been to this True Value many times per month, week and even in the same day. The staff is so helpful, especially Dallas and Sam! We have always found what we need, and the prices are right! It's seriously a blessing to have a hardware store so close when undertaking such a daunting renovation. They know us when we walk in, and there's just something so small town about the way I feel when I'm there. Also, they have a bike section which is so helpful if you're on the Dakota Trail and something goes awry. I bought a bike multi tool here and it's been a huge help when I'm biking. read more

I came in here to make a key for my car because I only have one key. My boyfriend and I walked in asked for some to help us make a key and she went on her phone and called someone to that department and the guy took 15 mins so we said well let's just go somewhere else. So the guys finally came back as we were walking up and he was a jerk to my boyfriend and I. So I said forget it lets go somewhere else. Then I went to the lady and the counter and I told her that I was upset and then I said that I won't come back to this place because the people are rude and bad service. So to this place, I want you to know we went to another true value and the guy and the other one helped us as we walked right in the door. read more

Local hardware stores are a wonderful thing. We used to live in South Minneapolis and frequented Settergren's Ace Hardware at 54th and Penn. That place is wonderful but I was actually back in the city a few weeks ago and stopped in at Settergren's for something and realized how much better the Mound True Value is. Someone's always ready to help you find what you need. The store is neat, clean and easy to navigate. They have anything you could possible need. The garden center is a nice new(er) addition. Oh and the free popcorn is a great bonus. read more

Great place! Mound true value is a "True Asset" to our community. I have lived in mound for almost 10 years, and have been in the store so many times I can't even count. Every problem I have come up with they have been able to resolve, and every part that I have needed they have been able to find or order. They provide excellent service on a consistent basis. Every employee is helpful, insightful, and willing to help whenever needed. In the summer the garden center has a great assortment of plants, in the winter they have wonderful decorations for Christmas, and throughout the year they have a wonderful assortment of gifts for the gardener in your family. When I have had the occasional oops with a product, they are always willing to make it right, I truly appreciate that they take the time and attention to resolve whatever the issue might be. We have been remodeling our house throughout the past 10 years, I have purchased all of my paint from them, they are very knowledgeable about product, color and use of the paint products that they offer. I have never ever endured such rude/imcompetent customer service, nor have I regretted the decision to give a company business quite like I have with Mound True Value. I called to inquire about the status of a repair, and was met with, "Have you received a phone call from us, then it isn't done." This phone call occurred 6 days past the quoted completion date. Why wasn't I informed of the delay? They failed to write down my phone number correctly. When I arrived to pickup my repair, I never received an apology, a slight discount in hopes of amending the poor service, or any acknowledgement that the situation could have been handled better. I understand people in customer service can have bad days, that is not my major qualm. My issue is the absolute systematic failure to provide adequate customer service at any point. I will gladly spend the extra half hour to drive to Home Depot in Plymouth, then to ever pay to be harassed by this company again. Oh, and don't get a deluxe bike tune-up here. My crank arm fell off the 3rd ride after completion, and they didn't even have the decency to run a rag over the bike after I paid $100 dollars. read more
