Can't say enough about this company. Started out with only partial system failure. They came in and got it figured out on a very old system. After a second failure (different issues) we decided to replace entire system to save stress. They managed to get the old system out and new one installed in 1 day. They said it would be more efficient and OMG! Our sunroom has never kept temp since we bought house 8 years ago. It has kept temp in this heat all but one day when it only jumped 2 degrees. These guys were Great. My heating system was broken. The problem was not a simple solution. The error code indicated a limit switch situation but only an experienced technician could figure out what parts and adjustments were needed to fix the unit. They needed parts that weren't readily available but got them quickly. Also the technician spent the time to make certain the unit was tweaked up to perfection and worked properly for several cycles. I have had repair guys that got things running and by the time they were a few blocks away the unit was not working properly. The AC stopped blowing on Sunday evening. I called around Monday morning and Hutton was able to get a technician over to see me the soonest of all the places I called, and also had a competitive rate. The receptionist, Emily, was so nice and very good at communicating. She told me that she would add me to their urgency list and if there were any cancellations or of a technician finished sooner than expected they might be able to fit me in sooner. She called me a few hours later and said they could squeeze me in later on in the day! She called me 30 minutes before the technician came out to let me know they were on their way. Was called on the morning of the appointment to be notified that I was outside their service area. When asked for an explanation I was informed that the 23457 zip code was too far for them to travel. Last July, my old system failed. After a good initial conversation, I made a poor decision and went with Hutton. The installation was a nightmare; the techs somehow altered my ducting, and now the master bedroom does not get adequate heat or AC. The room over the garage is an icebox in the summer and an oven in the winter. The day after the installation, the system shut down because the thermostat was incompatible with the system installed. If he was a trained professional, the tech should have known this. When the heating season began, the system did not work because it was not wired correctly. Another tech had to come to the house. Because of whatever they did to the ducts, the heating and cooling are inefficient, resulting in much higher electrical bills in hotter months and natural gas bills that almost double in cold months. read more

It was difficult to find an electrician's service that would work on a pool lighting system but Hutton Power and Light was able to complete the work I needed. The feature on their website with which you can supposedly reserve an appointment within a two-hour window is a little deceiving: I tried to schedule a next-day appointment online for first thing in the morning (although I would have been truly amazed if they could have made that appointment: I was putting this service to the test.) I received a call from Hutton P&L the next morning and was able to schedule an appointment one week out within a four-hour window. When that day arrived, they were not able to make that appointment. However, I received a couple phone calls along the way with updates regarding the delay. Their previous job that day took longer than predicted so they rescheduled me for the next day. They arrived that day within the agreed-upon four hour window to troubleshoot the job. I appreciated how the chief electrician, Joseph, communicated with me about the issues he found. I especially admired how he taught his assistant Tony what he was doing and explaining why. Joseph and Tony were unable to complete the job with the supplies that they had available and they could propose a potential remedy for the problem. He could not promise that the proposed remedy would solve the problem because the fault probably stemmed from underground wiring. Hutton P&L got me back on the schedule within two days to complete the job. A different electrician came out to do the repairs that day. Tommy was professional and efficient, as well. He completed the job in accordance with Joseph's recommended course of action and the repairs worked perfectly. read more

I'll admit seeing all 5 stars is a little questionable for a yelp page; But honestly, these guys deserve 6! We ran into a weird problem and started calling around for electricians and the few we contacted were saying a week plus to come see us (idk about you, but having funky electric problems with a. House built in 1938 doesn't make home a calming place) They answered my messages almost instantly and were able to come out within 3 hrs of me contacting them or work me in to the next day if that didn't work for us. Only reason Im giving them 2 stars is because the tech was super nice and explaining everything. This company is very misleading as they don't state anywhere I know of, that they do just package deals for repairs etc. I feel like this is misleading and that i just wasted $75 for a diagnostic fee. Didn't feel right even paying that. I just wanted a repair fixed with a repair cost and labor fee, not a whole $850-$2,000 package deals when I can get the repair for way less than all of that. I had an old brinks home security panel in a closet with tons of wiring popping. I did not k ow which wires were power wires and most of the wires had no reference designators. Anyways, I wanted that panel removed and in that closet to have a power outlet. The master electrician came, inspected the panel and within an hour I had no security panel and an outlet. When the lightning hit, the the door bell burned off and the power strip in the house kicked out the covering on one of the things that were plugged in. I called and made an appointment and they came thru in within the window they had promised. Also I must note I like that they were able to send a photo and a little bio on the person coming to do the service. I came home from work on Friday June 28th to a non-operating AC and my house being 81 degrees. After some quick research and based chiefly on online customer reviews I called Hutton Power & Light to come out and repair. It was late in the day on Friday but they got a technician (Joe) out first thing the following morning and he quickly found out that my system had numerous issues. He did an excellent job of explaining what the issues were and the fixes. As my AC system was 15 years old I asked some questions which Joe answered and I made the decision it would not be cost effective to try to repair it and opted for a replacement. Joe is very knowledgeable and professional and thoroughly explained the multiple options Hutton offers. There was no pressure to go one way or the other and he was very straight forward answering questions. I made my choice and since the following week was July 4th I was concerned that it would be an extended wait but they were able to do the install on Wednesday. My water heater stopped working and I was able to identify the issue as being at an electrical box in the attic. I reached out to Hutton Power & Light on a Saturday afternoon expecting voicemail, being told sorry next week, or sure but there is a service charge for weekend service. I am happy to report I received none of those. I was told I will be over in a couple of hours, and he was. I received updates about his ETA, which is great as it shows great communications, which is rare these days.
